Some dbag stole my phone

>use google device manager

My point here is if some people can just steal a phone and log out the google account. what's the point of android device manager if once it's logged out it can't trace a phone any more.

this is why you buy an iphone
or better yet, a dumbphone

how'd they manage to steal your phone unlocked?

well it's locked, it's even finger print locked. They probably reflashed the firmware. Now it's even connected to the thief's wifi network. I can even see the battery percentage.

Why leave it unlocked? Also if the phone is ever reset it will require the user to login with the original Google account.

...

Can you just see the name of AP or MAC address as well? If you get MAC then
api.mylnikov.org/geolocation/wifi?v=1.1&data=open&bssid=[MAC HERE] and it'll give an approximate geographic location, assuming it's in the database but if you're in a large city chances are it will be.

>They probably reflashed the firmware.
does pin on start up prevent that or is it just so thief can't steal your data?

anyway, unfortunate, but t b h unless you were willing to go over to the thief's place and get your device back, device finders aren't really going to help in this situation.

can see the MAC address though. I can only see the AP name

you can call the cops and they'll go check it out in a few weeks :^)

Your phone is open source now. Get over it.

My families house was broken into bout 2 months ago, I didn't have any important stuff there as I was away, but my father had his laptop stolen. To my absolute disbelief cops found it and returned it to him.

Well if you saved all your photos and documents to the cloud they'll be safe anyway so who cares.

Alright I made a police report, hope they'd get it back for me. It's not an expensive phone per se. but still would love to have it back. And google is stupid for not allowing me to track my lost device simply because some one logged out of it.

When you start an Android phone after a wipe/reflash it asks you to login using the last Google account used on that device.

So there's no way he can use it unless he goes GAppsless

The Apple iPhone X doesn't have this problem.

You can flash that and bypass that

Source, because AFAIK it isn't possible without going GAppsless

Only American thieves are this sophisticated.

>not using full disk encryption
got what you deserved

Lagroid-poorfags BTFO

This true unfortunately. Any android device can be flashed from fastboot, erased of existing OS and data and then flashed a new OS and can be used as new.
You don't need to activate debug mode and other developer options to do this.
I have unlocked xiaomi phones of my friends to install .eu ROMs without getting their bootloader unlock codes.
I've unlocked my old samsung phones in similar ways.

lol op here yes I am also using xiaomi phone. btw whether gappsless or not, just flash china roms and this can be easily bypassed. I have flashed this xiaomi phone before without even removing the locks

>Any android device can be flashed from fastboot, erased of existing OS and data and then flashed a new OS and can be used as new.

Is this true? Any Android device?

Well may be not blackberry or Motorola since they have highly secured bootloaders. but yes, cheap phones like xiaomi have not so much security in them and can be done easily.

Why are you using a shitty Chinese phone that can be flashed with a locked bootloader, that's a horrible security flaw

it's cheap and I'm using it just for the moment before I am eligible for recontract so that I an get a new phone from telco.

>lose phone
>call it
>they pick up
>they return it
Perks of not living in a morally rotten shithole

what is the fucking point of being able to see details like battery % of your stolen phone. are google cuck fetishists?

It gives you and idea of how much longer you'll be able to see the GPS, before the phone powers down and can't be turned on again because they don't have the password to your encrypted bootloader

Or that's how it should work if you don't have a trash phone

They removed my simcard, I wasn't able to get through my phone

Now the thief is charging my phone

that's dumb. as if the fat cuckold's who would bother with that would be physically capable or intimidating enough to even do something if they were able to track down or confront the supposed phone thief. at the end of the day it's just a cuckolding tool.

does it feel good knowing jamal is inserting his thick black charger into your virgin phone?

That's what you get for living in Brazil.

wow triples nice. well. idk how to feel. I guess that's the reality of living in a bad city

In Japan, if you lose your phone, 98% sure they will return it.
Here in Mexico it's the opposite

>In Japan, if you lose your phone, 98% sure they will return it.
It's probably closer to 100%. They'd run after you if you dropped a 100 yen coin.

it doesn't matter if it's chinese or not, it's android.

maybe not blackberry

locate my iphone is literally for dickless little pussymen who can't fight their own battles and need to "track down" crooks to get the police to help them get their toy back.
Real men use android and would rather die than relinquish their possessions to some hood nigger.

this must be some damn smart hood nigger in order to reflash the device. considering their avg iq is probably about 75

Probably yeah, my teacher lost her wallet over there and found it in a police box completely intact

This is why iphone is superior

You can brick you iphone at any time by calling apple and even have them display a message to the nigger that stole it as the phones takes their photo and sends in a swat team

every thug knows how to reset a phone
youtube.com/watch?v=zRPNlqXNsaY

You call the police and give them the location, how shitty are your local police? Mine do it all the time and do catch people

>brick your phone by calling Apple

You know you can do this via iCloud yourself, right?

If you call your provider you can have the phone banned from all networks in north America, that's extra funny

This is what I like about android. If I fuck something up I can just "reinstall" the OS. You'd be surprised how many times a family member said they forgot their fucking password or their kid changed it and I had to unlock their device.

that can be bypassed easly

i feel sorry for you

>he didn't install cerberus to nuke his phone via sms
i'm sorry for your loss, user

>call police
>expect to not get shot

yeah, sure must be nice living in make believe land

>unless he goes GAppsless
wtf so it is still possible for some fucker to steal my android and have fully functional phone?

duh. android are the least secure devicess out in the market

lol that twink fuccboi got btfo
really what grown ass twink plays pokemon go and streams it
really have some basic awareness of your surroundings
especially if you gonna wander downtown at night

I bypassed ADM on a Droid turbo a few months ago. It was easy, just had to follow a guide on YouTube. It's now a fully functional phone and I no longer trust my employees with android

did u unlock the bootloader? or still using stock os ?

HAHAHAHA

stock os. too lazy to flash a custom rom for my temporary phone

Of course they can and especially the Chinese ones.

I don't get you fags at all. You boast about how easy it is to break android phones all the time, then act shocked when someone other than yourself does it.

Does anyone truly believe some Xiaomi shitbox has any decent security?

Not with my Xiaomeme, when I reflash this it never ask for the last account, security is even shittier on chinkphones

OP, so how is it going? Did you call the bolis?

ofc, the power of open source bby

What phone?

yeah made an rpt to da bolis. but chances of getting back are probably low. They don't seem motivated to help me

xiaomi 5s

First time I hear this. It doesn't make any sense.

what state? little town or big city? where did you lost the phone: uni, cafe, locker room?

>defending subhuman nigger behavior

kill yourself

Just don't let Jamal near you so he can't steal your phone

I laughed at how easily someone can reset your phone calm down

Doesn't happen on my phone

this is why you don't let people stealing your device

it didn't get bruteforced you dumb cuck, read the thread

would an app like cerberus help prevent this?

Wow you're retarded
If op would stop being faggot and actually use a fingerprint/pin/password/pattern
Some dindu wouldn't have removed his shit

Go kill yourself dipshit

Dude a secure lock screen would do

Not him, but every time I have changed roms on an android device I could pick what ever account I wanted even skipping the log in part.

> he didnt install preyproject in the first 5 minute

You deserve it

...

>doesn't write down the MAC address of whatever he buys and store it in a safe location
what the fuck dude seriously?

Good

I don't understand why this retarded ass board still recommends Android over iPhone.

Phone thieves are scrawny manlets. They need to be for their line of duty.

>Any
I challenge you to find a way to install a custom ROM on Huawei Y5 II

Read better

>Read better
I've read several forums already, you cannot unlock the bootloader

You're completely wrong. This only works if you use recovery to factory reset. Using ADB or fastboot to reflash the image resets the device entirely and ADM recognizes it as a new device.

Only Apple seems to have this down. It's one of the benefits of a completely locked system.

How does a lock screen prevent someone booting the phone into fastboot or recovery and reflashing it?

I didn't know it's possible with newest phone, what the fuck bootloader do then..stupid

what if the bootloader is locked

i have spent the last 2 weeks unable to get pas the fucking frp shit on a nexus 6 and without an unlocked bootloader you can't do shit

lmao kys cuck.

Just unlock the bootloader you cuck. It's a Nexus 6... literally just plug it in and "fastbook oem unlock" or something like that.

yeah... you need to have enabled dev options in android and allowed the bootloader to be unlocked... and in newer versions of android, you can't get to the developer options in the pre-login environment even if you get to the settings menu/install a launcher/create a shortcut to the dev options

Damn, Google is shoring up their security. Only took them forever. Haven't used Android since I sold my 6P for a 6 Plus a year ago.

yeah its mega gay for anyone who buys a secondhand device from a dumb retard

LAMO'ng @ yur life.

FRP removal is like 20 candabux
IMEI Blacklist removal is like 50 Dollarydoos

>mfw nobody even looks twice at my Moto G3, let alone steals it
It's refreshing
>inb4 poorfag
sure

My Xiaomi mi4 is currently activation locked by Xiaomi. (forgot me mi account password because who ever fucking uses that)

How do i bypass this?

check your router if you used it in the past 48 hours on wifi, maybe you can recover it
