Switched to an Ergodox around a month ago.
Dropped from 130 WPM on regular keyboards to around 80 on both.
11/10 would switch again.

on qwerty? i feel those sympathy hand pains.
3-4 years and I still can't get over 110, did I reach my peak and that's it?
dunno man, back in the olden tymes games used to be played with typing. PvP and shit required mad skills and hax scripts. Maybe you just don't have the incentive to get gud.
Never really experienced the QWERTY discomfort myself.
I've been using computers since around '94 and after you reach ~100wpm you stop getting better as fast as you did before, I find it hard to push 150+ despite being able to type at 100 since forever (my average now being ~135-145). Maybe I'm being bottlenecked by something, but whatever, anything beyond 80wpm is wasted 99% of the time in real life scenarios anyway. Anything more is only useful if you're copying texts by hand or for showing off on typing tests.
If you're not experiencing pain/discomfort in your current style don't listen to the people who suggest you learn x layout or whatever, it's really not worth unlearning all those years of muscle memory for no appreciable gain.
I can get to ~140 but it fuckin hurts for any extended period. I never learned any other layout but people seem to have less problems at whatever their speeds are. Mechanicals switch actuation helps too, I hear.
Seconding just do whatever works. I've never HAD to type >100 for any real reason, dictation is dead and thats the only time it might make sense.
How good is 75~ WPM if english is not my first language?
typing-speed-test.aoeu.eu instead
uwu
ok i guess
If only we get paid by how fast we can type.
>90WPM
>90K per year
>120 WPM
>120K per year
All the normies would be under 60WPM and would only be paid 60K
...
Shit's not loading, I turned off all my extensions wtf?
hey cyutie
Not good
:~0
are we doing first time or we can warm up?
FUCK OFF!!
I am stuck at the 80 range :(
This pretty much was what got me to get there. My best is 101WPM ever got.

Hey baby, wanna give me your digits? ;3
umm i need those to type with
I meant your contact ya dummy. I'd give you kissy kiss
around 60, don't really have the right form and my fingers tense up if i get going. getting better now that i am using vi, but could get much better. and quite frankly it should be better for how long i've been typing, kinda embarrassing
I only use one finger on my right hand
pretty satisfied for a lappy chiclet keyboard
>consistently under 60 words per minute, 59 average
I'm too retarded for these tests, I read it and try to type but since the words don't make any sense in their order I fill it in myself with words that do and it trips me up. Also I just suck at accuracy.
>75
I shitpost faster for some reason.
Top 15% of the world.
Still have to seek keys?
I got 70
it feels a lot easier to type when the sentence you're typing actually makes sense, you can plan out words faster
58 words per minute, used to be a lot more. wtf happened to me
IKTFB
could be better, could be worse
IBM model M if that makes a difference
micorosft rt2300. It's complete crap.
Best of the world.
I wish I still had a mechanical keyboard and not this thinkpad shit.
Anyone got some tips for me? would like to break through 100
...
You won't type faster on a mech.
>english
Try to write using shit like tilde and ñ, fags
I hit up to 150 WPM on my Cherry G80 with MX Blue.
>typing fast
>thinking fast
hah, nice meme.
Meanwhile, I'll use tab completion for like 99% of my shit.
I type almost as fast one-handed
If I was typing what's on my head instead of copying what's on the screen, I bet I'd get a considerably better score (both as one-handed and with both hands.)
i only type with 3 fingers on the left and two on the right. not including thumbs
Not bad on mobile device i guess
Like 33 WPM, I fucking suck at typing fast.
Using a modified Logitech swift prototype from late 90s with QGMLWB carpalx, can only be done for short time.
I won a competition a few years ago with the same setup at my university.
>larping
I think its more a problem with your autism
There are records of nearly 300 wpm and they are using more of a regular setup with prolonged typing.
I have double press enabled, for t-e-a-o-n-i-s-h-r-l-d-u. So I can press 1 key, for example T, and a further push will allow an E.
My actual typing speed is around 100ish for anything over 10 minutes on a regular keyboard.
This test was only 330 keystrokes and had easy words, I won with 153 in the actual competition this was 10 minutes of typing.
It's possible to reach to 400, if you get a series of words with many common combinations, you'll be mashing the keyboard and may need to have a triple press keyboard at the point.
Interesting, I'm content with 110 with five fingers
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAJ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAJ AAAAAAAAAAAAJ
iv send you 10wpm try again
...
whats faster altGr or pressing the tilde button?
im currently using us_intl but duno maybe if i switch to tilde button my speed improves.
