Just use Windows Defender, or MSE if you're < windows 8. Those are the best options really

Pretty much this. Or you could switch to Linux. Those are your best options.

Common sense + whitelisting firewall you fucking idiot.

that uses 170 MB doing nothing
is that even relevant today?

kaspersky free
it'll ask you to login everytime you start your computer, but it never obliges you to do so

fuck that shit!

>russian spyware
no

I haven't used windows in ages. Not sure if Avast is still decent, but it's free and I remember it not consuming too much memory. In fact it won a 2016 memory usage test.

It's more relevant then the other free shit that offers half a service and it's seriously better than the paid products as well. Just stick to it, and if 170 MB of ram is too much for you than just move to Linux since it doesn't look you're doing any gaming

>whitelisting firewall
what should i whitelist? Sup Forums?
you fucking idiot!

dat filename

hosts file + ublock origin

>being this fucking retarded
yeah an "antivirus" would be better for you

literally no proof it contains spyware, and kaspersky proposed to show the source code to the us government

tx, i'll look into it

People don't use antivirus in Linux?

>Common sense

Kek

kaspersky if you want actual protection.

Hasn't failed me so far.

There's clamAV but getting a virus in Linux is extremely rare. You literally need to install some shady shit on purpose. And that requires you to put in your password to do it.

panda antivirus

MSE + Voodoshield + Winblows Firewall

Close all malware vectors yourself and you won't need anti virus

Some people do. I think there are some legit options out there. I want to say Sophos, F-Secure, and at least a few others have Linux options.
