LG V30 thoughts lads

LG V30 thoughts lads

It's an LG so it'll probably drop like a stone in a few months smackeroonies wise and it looks to BTFO everything else atm

Was the v20 any good? I'm considering waiting for this or getting the cheaper v20, although it looks ugly af

Don't, get v30

V30 lacks a removable battery, get the old V20 instead.

v20 is fucking dope

Posting this from a V20, everything is p nice dude. Had an iphone and have to say I didnt expect the v20 camera/fingerprint sensor would be this much better

Who cares? By the time a battery goes its time for an upgrade anyway

...

Waiting for the Pixel 2 event. If the 2 XL sucks, then I'm going with the V30.

Lithium batteries only have ~300 good 0-100% recharge cycles. After that they begin to significantly lose mAh capacity. So after about a year you could see your battery drop to 80% capacity.

Better to just be able to buy a new battery than deal with shit battery life. You can also upgrade to extended capacity ones too.

100%. The v30 is a sellout gimmick by lg that effectively killed everything the v series had going for it. Almost surprised that it even has a headphone jack

I like the V30 size as the V20 and V10 was Xbox big.

Currently have a GS5, which is definitely dying on me. Freezes, constant soft-reboots, cracked screen, slowdowns, etc.
Been looking for a new phone, but everything seems like absolute shit, or if something does show potential, it's ruined by some totally retarded gimmick, like
>18.5:9 aspect ratio
>no headphone jack
>curved screen
>multiple screens
>no (AM)OLED

LG V30 is probably the best phone I've found so far. Granted, no removable battery is definitely a bummer, but fuck, I can at least use my headphones and the screen isn't curved.

Tbh lads I'm more inclined to get the OP5 now because the V30 has a tiny shitty camera sensor

And the OP5 is cheaper, it just has a pentile display with no HDR but I'm convinced that's a meme anyway as I don't watch movies on my phone

It's not a meme, but it's not exactly a REQUIRED thing on a phone.

The Note8 is by far the best looking screen on a phone i've ever seen, colors pop, HDR content looks great. But unless you're comparing an LCD side by side to a current gen Samsung AMOLED, you wont be missing much.

This. With Google using LG to build the 2XL, it's quite likely to be a rebadged G6 or V30.

Quite possibly the only good LG-Google phone since the Nexus 5.

Should I get this over the Mi Mix 1? I need a headphone jack, but want to get into the bezel-less craze.

Surprising since LG has done OLEDs before. Didn't expect the difference to be quite so stark.

>It's not a meme,
Oh it is. HDR is just 10bit content with some metadata.

What matters is if the screen is bright and saturated or not. Your pic looks like a comparison between a TFT/IPS and amoled.

is there any HDR content other than MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES ON NETFLIX

The OP5 is amoled which is nice

I'd be all over the note 8 if it didn't have that blindingly retarded fingerprint reader placement for someone that holds their phone in their left hand like me

>is there any HDR content other than MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES ON NETFLIX
Chefs table.

I'm a /ck/ fag anyway so it's right up my alley.

>Your pic looks like a comparison between a TFT/IPS and amoled
Yeah obviously. I don't have too many OLED screens laying around to compare it to.

It's an AH-IPS 8-bit panel (no FRC)

at least you took the effort to take a photo

LG OLEDs are all TVs though. They don't have too much expertise with smaller OLED panels like samsung does.

Do they mean "follow up"?

So does this mean using an always on screen won't be as efficient as on a Samsung?

Probably, mainly it means your color uniformity will be shitty.

Posting from a v20, great phone.

My first v20 bricked and the fingerprint sensor went out on my second. On my third v20 rn. Wouldn't do LG again.

>no audio jack

Got mine back in November. Pretty cozy phone, only thing is I got some burn marks and secondary screen isn't used as often, but somewhat useful for notifications. I only say somewhat because when messages pop up, they appear for 3 seconds. SD slot is hella useful and the back button might piss you off a couple of times. 8/10

Tbh would go with Pixel
