The display is symmetrical. There is a mirror plane right in the middle. And older iPhones, and in fact, most phones, aren't any more symmetrical than that due to buttons at the bottom.

It always wears and scratches. Every s7 has this issue. Paint over the plastic slowly rubs off and dust particles on it and on your finger scratch it and after 1 year it looks like you've rubbed it with 10 grit sand paper
