So I want to use passthrough from Linux into Virtual Windows but I'm completelely lost. Aside for checking the support on my hardware, what should I do or care of specifically? Thank you anons.
Noah Cox
I want a new distro. Currently running Arch, want to switch to something different. Currently considering Slackware, Gentoo, Funtoo, SMGL, and Void. What are your suggestions?
Henry Barnes

yes 'printf \\u$[2571+RANDOM%2]' | bash
Ian Mitchell
Ubuntu is going nowhere. Even if Canonical collapses Microsoft will take over Ubuntu.
Christopher Garcia
That's okay, user. It happens to the best of us, sometimes.
Why do you think that?
Connor Stewart
Neat. I added some random colors. yes 'printf "\e[$[31+RANDOM%6]m\u$[2571+RANDOM%2]"' | bash
Carson Hughes
because you're a lazy asshole. Seriously, what's so difficult about typing "sudo pacman -S" and the name of the package you want to install?

Microsoft recently gave a big 'donation' to Canonical in an effort to help them out of their increasing financial trouble.
Owen Roberts
Microsoft gives donations to a lot of free software projects. It just means that their priorities overlap with that of their sponsors, not that their sponsors necessarily sway the direction of Canonical. As for openSuse, well, that's a different story.
Wyatt Perry
I'm well aware, Microsoft is one of the biggest contributors to the Linux kernel, and OpenSUSE has continued to be a profitable company since the 90's, but Canonical hasn't made a penny since it started over a decade ago.
Camden Smith
>Microsoft is one of the biggest contributors to the Linux kernel Why would they do that?
Justin Williams
Sorry I meant to say SUSE*
I don't like OpenSUSE myself but SUSE is very successful.
Cooper Gutierrez
They still benefit from it, Intel is also one of the biggest contributors.
Joshua Carter

Jason Thompson
Canonical are in desperate need of third party financial support and they have a patent on Ubuntu so when they do fail Ubuntu won't be able to be saved by the community.
Use Fedora.
Alexander Gonzalez
i hope they don't go the mozilla route here, could be really fucking bad, much worse than if they just bottom out
Jaxon Murphy
I axed this in the previous flgt but it seems we got off on the wrong foot.
How do you delet systemd from the latest Ubuntu? What's the best replacement for it?
Dominic Perez
You don't.
Luis Richardson
Fedora is sponsored by red hat Red hat is sponsored by Microshit. ... do not change anything
Chase Nelson
What other option is there then? Debian I suppose? But the only problem with debian is the old software which makes it difficult for people with newer hardware.
Cameron Lewis
Arch and gentoo
Robert Richardson
Does i3 work on KDE? Are Qt themes less common than GTK? Makes me want to try openbox instead of KDE next if true.
Angel Cox
>systemd no
Brayden Ortiz
Arch is a hobbyist distribution, I agree with Gentoo however
Chase Wood
>arch is hobbyist >gento somehow not lmao retard
Wyatt Kelly
Arch or gentoo on my laptop ?
Angel White
Shit
Jason Brooks
Nobody should recommend Windows ever, not even ironially or as insult.
Ayden Clark
I'm sorry.
Henry Turner
Ah, so you're lazy and a fedora tipper, makes sense.
Xavier Cooper
what are the benefits of arch over manjaro?
Bentley Murphy
You are retarded as fuck, at least learn how to use your package manager. Install Windows 10
>Does i3 work on KDE KDE is a desktop environment that uses it's own WM so you'd have to decide between that an i3; however you could most likely use i3 + KDE bar (never tested it though) and of course all the KDE programs
Gentoo is frustrating as hell on low-end machines imo; just use Arch if the laptop is not your daily driver
Austin Hernandez
Thou shalt not recommend malware 10 or any other version.
Jack Bennett
Are you the same guy that has been asking that for the last week?
Jordan Perez
What if she's a girl?
Cameron Carter
How would I connect to library wifi from wpasupplicant?
Ayden Ward
I just want the benefits of a tiling wms hotkeys with KDEs easy out of the box use. Should I try openbox for that? i3 alone felt a bit esoteric to me since I was using the command line so much, and I'm a brainlet.
William Williams
I'll take that as a yes.
Jason Long
I'm a girl (male) :3

what are the benefits of funtoo over gentoo?

Dylan Russell
Anyone have a shell script or something for having my wallpaper change every 30 mins or so on LXDE?
Luke Perry

Devuan or Gentoo for Chromebooks?
Also why would anyone ever want to use Crouton?
Oliver Campbell

Connor Carter
I'm aware of the meme user
Gentoo's packages for ARM seem unsatisfactory however
t. this guy Ok, actually though, manjaro has its own repositories separate from the official Arch ones. But it's a bit more stable, plus has a lot of comfy stuff preinstalled; theme looks good, fonts look good, don't have to fuck with manually installing your DE, browser, extras, etc.

Whats the best "picker" (fzf-like) utility? Or is fzf already be best?

I just installed DeepinOS for my laptop, this isn't a very linux-esque question and as I'm typing this I'm wondering why I'm asking here, but what's the most user friendly IDE/text editor I can use to code in Java? I'm a computer science student and want to use this as my daily driver, so I need some sort of IDE/text editor to do my simple shit.
Right now I'm looking at sublime text, does anyone have anything else I should use?
