QBittorrent

This is the biggest pile of shit ever. It can't do even simple shit that other browsers could do since version 0.01.

0) Want to help seed a file
1) Download the .torrent file
2) Already have a file so I placed it into ~/Downloads (the default downloads directory)
3) Start qB by double-clicking on a .torrent file
4) qB gets stuck in some kind of a file checking loop and it never seeds the file... progress bar just jumps around like mad

Unbelievable. I've tried a lot of meme shit that gets pushed around here but this is the biggest one yet.

I'm back to Transmission.

nice blog
subscribed and upboated!

also, works on my machine™

>seeding
qb is not for cucks like you OP

>cant figure this shit out
The problem is between the keyboard and the chair user, check throughly and report back.

>also, works on my machine™
not it doesn't.
nope. problem is that qB is a buggy piece of shit. I'll also bet you that this shit is in their Bugzilla. was probably in there for months/years because qB is probably run by idiots.

none of this has ever happened to me

I've never had problems with qBittorrent checking files.
Sounds like you should submit a bug report.

>20MB for a torrent client
You didn't need to look any further than that.

The source/torrent you used was problematic you imbecile.

>Sounds like you should submit a bug report.
All right, you made me look. And there's lots of reports of this issue already. No need to waste my time on it myself.

github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues?utf8=&q=is:issue is:open recheck

Bug that impacted me:

github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/7244
Same as this one?

github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/7152

haven't checked the rest of the pages... these are just from the top half of the 1st page.

Tell me again how it's all my fault.
kek

Anyway, Transmission can seed files and do something as basic as recheck the fucking files.

wow, baby found that software can have bugs that can be fixed, nice blogging

>The source/torrent you used was problematic you imbecile.
How so you dumb shill? qB progress bar just jumps around and doesn't tell me the files is OK or not. In fact, it's so retarded that it even sends a notification to my WM tell me it's finished downloading. TOP KEK!

Seriously, quit shilling that piece of shit. It can't even do utterly basic stuff like add a finished file for seeding.

I've used rtorrent on a VPS and have used uTorrent under Winshit and Transmission on a bunch of OSes. None of these have ever had these sorts of issues with totally basic shit. I'm not asking the client to fetch RSS feeds or something.

Penis, OP. Big Penis.

Just use uTorrent 2.2.1 like everyone else with a brain.

Transmission is the most solid client. Never had a problem with it. Just wish they would finalize the Windows builds so that I don't have to use the QT port anymore.

And they need to add more to the UI

>getting this upset
Just use another client and move on with your life

>Tell me again how it's all my fault.
I never said it was your fault.
But I'd like to note that the bug reports you linked to mention that the rechecking issue doesn't happen consistently.
By all means, use Transmission, but please don't act like every single bug you encounter is a pandemic, when it obviously isn't.

We told you qBittorrent is a buggy mess. Why subject yourself to it?

Stick to Transmission. Its the least buggy client next to rtorrent.

Transmission still has regular releases so it's obviously not the least buggy. uTorrent 2.2.1 has been out for 6 years and the only thing that's cropped up in that time is a single display bug.

qbittorrent is fine, it's mainly imbeciles that don't know how to use it that sperg against it, it even has an excellent search-for-torrents feature.

qbittorrent is great, my only issue is that I cant seed whenever I change the file destination

I use it because what else is a wincuck to do, it beats the shit out of every other client on windows but good God I can't stand it's damage controlling werkz for me faggot fanboys with there hurr it's the users fault FOSS is infallible! The fact is that it's buggy as hell and partly due to the fucked nature of Windows each installation is drastically different. I've gotten the hang on exit bug so many goddamn times on my main PC that I just did a fresh install of windows to unfuck it because fresh install of qb wouldn't work. Now the qstalledmeme is bullshit, it's only ever happened to me when my hard drive was too slow to write at the speed qbittorrent could download. But still, qb has more than it's share of bugs and if I could use rtorrent on windows I would but alas

I did have some trouble with qbittorrent a while ago (after using it for years with no problem) so I decided to try transmission.
That's a mistake I won't be making again.
I updated to qbittorrent v3.4beta and all is fine now.

you're doing it wrong

and a bunch of CVEs

>18,5TB
The hero we don't deserved

I thought of switching from Deluge to QB when all my torrents became red with some error message on them. I tried rechecking, checked the filepath was correct etc but they just won't seed.
And yes I have to seed because quality porn is usually only found in private trackers.
Is there much of a difference between the two?

If you block localhost:qBittorrent port in firewall, qBittorrent will shit itself and idle in a while true loop consuming 99% of your CPU.

Thats how shit it is.

Qbittorrent is trash. It still can't selectively download files from a multipart torrent. Ends up downloading gigabytes of files you specifically untucked and told it not to.
The autistic devs say this is deliberate and can't be avoided even though other clients like uTorrent and tixati have had this ability for years.

fuck off leecher

µTorrent 1.8.5 version is still the best.

>lots of reports of this issue already
You can find such reports for every existing torrent client.

Never had such a problem.

Thats how torrents work, dumbass. Other clients just hide that shit. QB hides that shit too since 3.4 beta.

>ugly 2005 UI design
LINUX CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

...

works on my machine.

qbt is the fucking BEST
