Is there one god tier device?

PS4 + Roku 3 covers all my bases

Chromecast is nice.

is the Roku hard wired or on wifi?

wifi only

Roku with Amazon + Netflix + Plex

...

So the nicest Roku hard wired seems to be the best

Depends on the device, some are wired, some are not.

raspberry pi

Roku is good, Apple TV is pretty /comfy/ but I know some people don't like the remote.

>Chrome

Nico is top waifu.

What does PS4 have that a Roku doesn't?

(((Streaming TV))) is botnet

Firetv (the box not the stick) does pretty much everything. You have to sideload kodi as it doesn't have google play store, but that takes like 5 minutes.

What's wrong with the stick?

That's what I have and it works great.

shield tv is the best you can buy without actually just getting a HTPC.

a smartTV, specifically samsung because they have a reliable browser. Roku is a meme, it doesn't let you stream unofficial titles via the internet and half the shit it comes with is useless.

>watching TV

I have a Roku Ultra, just to future proof shit. Found it on Ebay for ~65 bucks.

Depends on the device. I THINK the only Roku device that is wifi only is the Stick version. Other than that, its user preference.

Not him but the box has more power and a kid's mode.

For sports I use sportshd.me but everything else I just download. I can download seasons of whatever the fuck in 1080p in a minute or two, it doesn't really make sense to stream I think.

Although I dont really watch the news, reality tv, contest shows, awards shows, etc that are kind of required to be live to stay relevant and exciting, so not streaming tv isn't really a problem for me except for sports sometimes. Im probably just gonna bite the bullet and start paying for the streaming services various leagues offer

Smart TVs lose support in like 2 years. Fuck that.

I have a Stick, an Ultra, and a Roku 3 (without Voice Control). Stick seems to essentially be a Roku 3, without the USB port for pirating, an SD card for channel storage, or an ethernet port. It's not BAD, but I would sooner get a Roku 3, presuming that both are about the same price.

I bought a fire tv stick, it's basically an unencumbered android device for $35, I side-loaded MX Player and it's been smooth sailing for watching my fancy subbed anime from my shared drives over the network.

Just one thing, it won't play h.265 video very well, so I have to have
transcode a copy in h.264 if I want to play it, but no self-contained TV stick is going to play HEVC anyway so I just have to live with the inconvenience.
