Is Firefox 57 our last hope of a decent browser?

Is Firefox 57 our last hope of a decent browser?

Is it really that different from the previous versions?

It's fast as shit. Literally loads in less than a second when I open it the moment my desktop appears after booting.

Mozilla's been shilling a ton here lately. Just ignore him.

>shilling
>free product

I've always used Internet Explorer since it had superior integration with Windows but when I moved to Firefox a month ago every felt good. Makes me want to speak German. Heil Hitler! Sieg heil!

>being this retarded

icecat all day man

>something needs to cost money before you can shill it
These are the retards you share a board with, folks.

yes

Do you even surf?

How does mozilla foundation make money anyways? Purely through donations I'm guessing?

Do they get a lot of corporate donations, from Microsoft, Google, and the like?

Its actually really fast though

Fuck off pajeet

>Mozilla
>indian developer

Nani?

>Is Firefox 55 our last hope of a decent browser?
Fixed that for you and Yes.

>google funding their only notable browser competition

hmmm

Firefox is pretty darn good lately man. Eat shit haters.

Yeah, you're not allowed to even build and sign your own extensions anymore.

Installed 57 a week ago, no noticeable difference except i can't move tabs on bottom anymore (without it looking weird and off)

What changed to have such a difference?

That said, since FF got fully multi-process it's gotten blazing fast. It opens instantaneously and there's not a single frame-drop when scrolling even at 120Hz while loading 30 tabs.

ff was never bad. i haven't used something else since FF 1

>Everyone says they'll switch to waterfox when 57 comes out
>Waterfox is stable branch only and won't be able to use XUL because code for it will be fully removed

out of all the shitty browsers its always been the best choice

They changed the rendering engine, or at least updated it

Damn, they've finally achieved the startup speeds of Opera circa 2002! Based Mozilla poocoders come up trumps again!

Any blog post from Mozilla with details?

You can have a decent Firefox now. Just delete the whole Mozilla folder in Appdata and reconfigure the browser with only webextensions addons installed. Set the performance options to manual and allow the browser to use 7 content processes. Be sure that you use the 64bit build.

It's the only botnet free mainstream browser.

Kills or messes up half of my addons. I dont like it.

Shouldn't you use fewer processes if you're a RAMlet like me? How many processes should you have for X RAM?

No, NetRunner is.

FF terribly slow to scroll and for any multimedia on mac. Even Nightly is the same. I now use Opera. I turn off any option for usage reports. Am I still being jewed by Opera somehow that I don't know about? The browser performance and UI is the top.

>our last hope of a decent browser

See here -

As few as possible.

So, 1? Isn't more faster at the expense of RAM?

No such thing as updating or changing Gecko
>developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/57

If you don't know the answer then you aren't smart enough to worry about that. Enjoy your browser, user. You'll be ok.

its been shit since around firefox 48+

I'm using nightly for a month and i'm happy with it

mindless drone

>Drone
What does that even fucking mean?

Nightly is right now using the 57 codebase which is the one with the biggest changes in years, both bad and good depending on your PoV.

it will make the best browser even bester.

firefox for lyve

>post asking about Firefox 57
>post ends in 57

DIVIDE BY ZERO, WHEN

Chrome 2 was pretty good

Soros owns mozilla?

No thanks.
