WORTH IT? Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

Sorry if this is a redundant thread, I never really come on /g. I have the opportunity to buy a new Redmi Note 4 for $160 CAD and am wondering if any of you have any experience with this phone. Maybe you could save me wasting my money. I trust your opinions more than the hacks on youtube.

Depends on your application. If you have no need for the new features then why bother considering it.

I just want a cheap phone with a big screen that is pretty fast and won't be irrelevant in a year.

ive been using it for the last 10 months, i couldnt find a better phone in that price range
usualy i dont bother with chink shit but the equivalent samsung was 30-40% more expensive

so far i didnt have any issues with it, it doesnt look or feel cheap (aluminium body), battery could be better but thats the only thing i could complain about, lasts about 2 days with light usage

>no official lineageos
>no unofficial unlock
RN3P was good but RN4 is not.

>>no official lineageos

It's been out for a month already.

The hardware is good. It sustained several huge falls and damages and shattered screen. But I had battery expanding once and had to replace it twice. The charger that came with it died after a month. That is all fine with me except the only thing you have to beg Chinese overlords to unlock. Would not recommend.

this or the Mi A1?

I would wait.

Redmi got released/announced November last year. There is a 99% certainty that the Redmi 5 gets announced soon for around 200$

I've got one. It's "good" in every respect imo, but the battery life is the only area where it really stands out. Very happy with it for the price.

On XDA literally every ROM there is official

Make sure you really want 5,5 inch brick.
Otherwise, mine is fine.

There are about 300 variants of that fucking thing. Be careful to get the right one.

X20/SD425/SD625 variants
2/3GB variants
720/1080 variants

It's a real fucking minefield. One thing I learnt from my "never to have fully functional custom rom"-Mi4 is that Xiaomi phones suck asshole for proper Cyanogen/LineageOS support.

Definitely get one with Snapdragon 625 and 4GB of RAM. Once you unlock the bootloader and install Lineage OS it's amazing.
Battery lasts for about 40 hours. Never had any freeze or stuff like that.

awesome just dropped my current phone and am in need of a replacement. I'm borrowing an iPhone 6s and love the fingerprint scanner so I think I will go with this same setup. I'm going to miss fast charging that I had on my Oppo phone but I think this battery should make up for it.

The battery itself is well worth of the price. I get 12+ hrs SOT easily.

2/3/4 gb ram variants 16/32/64 internal, snapdragon and mediatek cpu.

official is more than enough you can just debloat it with xiaomi eu rom.

get the xioami mi a1

Worth it. Had mine for 4 months and it's still smooth af. Make sure to get the Snapdragon one. Don't get memed into buying mediakek.

Is LineageOS better than MIUI in battery management and shit?

I got a Redmi 4x for only 100 euro

What's the most stable ROM? Most seem to have problems with the fingerprint scanner, VoLTE, and video recording.

AIM recently gave it an official release and I can't find any bugs reported on it. Can anyone confirm?

is it worth then?

Of course. I always end up with 50% battery at the end of the day. Don't install shitty apps and you'll be fine.

>15% screen time
Not impressive. Its 4100mA we talking about here

Also what the fuck is wrong with that compression

>854 available
>32gb total

I bought the 16gb version, I guess I'm fucked.

As long as you get the snapdragon version, its a good phone. I made the mistake of getting the MediaTek version (which only has a AOSP rom)

It's mostly porn that I couldn't back up to my laptop because it's getting repaired. I normally have 10+ GB free at all times.

I live in China, and I'm on the CPC watch list, having been arrested for "public dissent" before, so there is no way I'm using a Xiaomi in China...

will stick to my Samsung. Xiaomi makes it way too easy for the CPC to monitor your every call, text, or posting.

I have one it's cool.
one con - the screen colors are complete ass, but for the price I cant complain.
BTW i would get myself an OLEPHONE k10000 max if I knew it existed before redmi note 4x

YES, im buying the version with 4GB ram, 64GB memory and Snapdragon, 160€

>asmr
>porn

How dare you touch yourself to those pure maidens?

pretty solid device, but I were you I would use only the original charger. I fucked up mine usb charching circuit with some quick charger from other brand phone.
But the the bord was $3 on aliexpress and pretty easy to reeplace.

so its botnet for chinks only?

cool

great phone for the money but its a pain in the ass to root because xaomi has ro give you permission and its roo bug for me

I have one. It's a good phone with a huge battery life. It's smooth and Xiaomi UI is decent.
