So what's your opinion about ultrawide displays?
So what's your opinion about ultrawide displays?
they're hilarious, effective tools for tools to show what insufferable neckbeards they are.
I have five curved ones in a circle that play underwater recordings all day so I can pretend I'm in a submarine.
Only viable use
Previously had LG 29" ips UW, it was a nice experience for browsing and generally using computer however lack of support for games made me return it for high refresh 1440p.
>lol
lol
Made for audio / video production.
That time line bro.
>lack of support for games
Literally wat. Only blizzard trash doesn't properly support it. Every single other game out there has support out of the box or you can make it work as intended by doing a 10 seconds long hotfix.
Overwatch, battlegrounds, gtav (partially) and dark souls all had sketchy support. I'm not saying its completely unsupported but its far from perfect
Dark souls has always worked fine with a tiny hotfix. GTA V works perfectly out of the box so I don't get what you mean by "sketchy support". Battlegrounds is an early access title and even then it now works fine. Only Overwatch is shit.
pubg worked on mine fine, gta V also works fine and ds took a 2 minute fix to implement, widescreen is one of the best decisions in my life and also you're a fucking idiot only using it for games
>spend hundreds of dollars on a meme
>still have to waste your time fixing games
AAAAAHAHAHAHAH
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA
poorfags who think they're wealthy can't stop getting BTFO
I'd like to buy one for gaming but the performance hit on the frames scare me a bit as I fear that my 1070 won't be enough to keep it at solid 60fps.
Perhaps you should consider getting yourself a console instead of a PC then because that's second nature to the platform. It'll be more your speed.
m8, what the hell are you smoking? A 1070 is perfectly fine for ultrawide gaming at 60+ fps. You can always adjust graphical settings and do you only play the latest and most graphically demanding cinematic AAA shit or what?
I wouldn't be poor if i could afford a decent widescreen monitor, plus they're not that expensive anyway.
Shit meme and there's no reason to have two threads up at once.
I think they are really neat if you like gaming. I don't see much application otherwise.
They're a welcome change to the years of 16:9 trash, I can't wait to get one.
>so I can pretend I'm in a submarine.
A submarine with a 360 degrees panorama deck?
Well, I hope you are right about that, especially when I'd be fine with the 2560x1080p display, don't want to make the jump to 1440p yet.
>2560x1080p
That is what gave 21:9 a bad reputation.
P O O R F A G
M E N T A L I T Y
Same as cash whales who rationalize their exhorbant and useless microtransaction spending with "I'm rich", no bitch you have a credit card there is a vast difference LMAO
Fpbp
It's shit.
You created 1 thread, people told you they are shit. Now you create another one and get told the same. Are you that desperate to find people who will justify your shitty purchase decisions?
this shit cyberpunk as fuck.
This monitor was like, £200 i think. Can you not afford £200 once in a while? do you eat out of a bin?
OP, games work fine (only ancient stuff needs hotfixing or just runs in 16:9) the real struggle is finding a desktop wallpaper that fits.
>im not poor, I can afford ultrawide!
>Ultrawide isnt that expensive!
...nigga what?
It pisses me off that there are more ultrawide displays on the market than 16:10.
I don't own a credit card because i don't need them. I make a considerable amount of money considering my age, it's rude to discuss money. Scream poorfag all you want but at the end of the day i'm enjoying more expensive and superior technologies whilst you sit here shitposting from a shitty 21" monitor
Look at that goddamn watch. I had a watch that thick as a kid, and it had fucking candy inside.
Those were the shit though
Well, yeah, but I bet this fag doesn't even have candy in his watch.
This. Not to mention 1200p are even more expensive. It makes me angry.
I don't know why you wouldn't use a credit card. It's secure and build your credit so when you do need to get a mortgage, you are given gucci rates. Or you could of inherited a couple million and don't have to worry about peasant stuff.
My credit score is above average without even owning a credit card, I will need one in the future but i definitely don't need one now.
How dense are you, whats the correlation between someone wanting to be perceived as wealthy and a stretched out monitor?
Fucking NEET logic man.
Lol want to be rich fag NEET.
when you need a good credit history for something like a house or whatever you'll find it's too late to build the profile that you want to get a low rate. the whole idea is that you need to establish your profile early so you have a consistent track record of paying your bills on time, not tapping out your credit cards, etc...
They're pretty good, as long as they have at least 1440 vertical pixels. Usually that means 34" form factor, which is usually overpriced.
So I tend to prefer 27" WQHD or 32" UHD just because of price. UHD on Windows is shit though, because of DPI scaling, so it's only good on Linux and Mac OS.
Great for working.
It's called a cupola, scrub.
>not using a glorious 4:3 display
Cuck.
>using 4:3 when you can get dual 5:4 monitors with no bezel separating the screens
It lacks vertical depth at 1440, so it leaves a lot to be desired for a software developer.
I do appreciate the width but don't want to look like I'm watching a tennis match.
I've had one since the old 21:9 2560x1080 first came around and it's far better for any game that supports it, much better view of lots of things
for programming it's near useless and anything else
I also put video on it since they have blackbars
some games force 16:9 ratio which is shitty, though. sc2 for example forces it because 21:9 is considered cheating with how much better field view you have.. but WoW allows it
UW + Linux and Win10 (GPU passthrough) + synergy is the shit for me. My LG has this split screen stuft, so i can move seamlessly between the systems. I love it.
34", 3440*1440
Have 2x24" samsung 16:10 with ccfl backlight.
They have thousands of hours and started to go dim with yellowish tint.
Should I get new 2x24" or go with 29" ultrawide?
just get a 29'', at least it's better than dual monitor with a fucking bezel in the middle
Ugly and useless, but not as bad as a multiple-monitor setup which is essentially the same thing but with space in between each screen lol
I make my own wallpapers. Even made some custom animated ones. Pretty sure wg has plenty of UW threads nowadays too.
Make sense only with a good tiling window manager
I find my 23'' display to be enormous already, can't see myself using one of these ultrawide ones
