Why haven't you installed libreboot yet?

how do you edit libreboot boot iamge?

I like having somewhat modern hardware

because i'm not a freetard

also

cbfstool

it's bretty nice, you can even hide cp on your rom

Learn how to spell image properly first.

>gnupepe.jpg
Nice copyright violation, prepare to get sued.

because i just got me x200. im scared to do it, waiting for the wificard

But I have

>pointing out grammar
how new

I have a pre-botnet cpu

pc should supposedly boot faster but I'm going to use an SSD so I don't know what's the point

still botnet in your bios

it's pretty easy to do especially on the x200

idgaf

my hardware is incompatible

especially on a x200? how so? I always thought the x60 and t60 were the easy ones

>Why haven't you installed libreboot yet?

Because it's not available for any platform I use.

Srlsly I'd use it if it were.

I don't think there is any support for me.

>using megumin instead of yuru yuri
holy fucking shit the newfags are killing me

>yuru yuri
>not newfag
how new

x60 and t60 are the easiest but the x200 is still pretty easy to libreboot

then get a supported platform

You can have someone do it on ebay for $40

Talos II

Buy a Thinkpad X200

to be free

>newfag
>how new
how refreshing

too expensive lol im not rich

importing exporting is expensive alone

Well it's not my fault you're some poor pleb in some third world country

Requesting a pic of Chromebook with libreboot

Sup Forums has a high amount of NEETs, this should not surprise you in the slightest. You are the outlier here

But even NEETs should be able to use their mom's credit card

Getting kicked out for computers doesn't sound desirable

The Intel ME -2 Rootkit still runs in the background and can fuck my computer up at any moment and there's nothing I can do about it.

Getting rid of my motherboard's firmware doesn't help shit.

coreboot is superior

lol stop acting like a victim or some accused bitch I didnt blame you
I live in a first world country on the lowest tier though
I do what I can whats the problem

youre a bitcc if you steal from your mother you american

bitch*

I could install coreboot if I had something to flash it with, but libreboot isn't likely to become available for the ThinkPad I use. I'd have to get something slightly older.

Can I get it on my t430s without soldering and shit?

not even with soldering

4k to be free... holy fuck. Ill stick to the t400.

>Thinkpad X200
>Supports DVI

na

why are modern computers unable to be librebooted?

I was originally going to use some service because I was lazy, but none of the services accepted the tablet variant of the x200. I'd do it myself, but I am led to believe that it is more challenging to configure on the tablet variant.

I just did last night since you ask.

Nice, what model?

I use a DVI monitor with my X200 over displayport

>OP goes to airport
>TSA asks him to turn on his laptop
>sees neo-Nazi alt-right frog face on bootup
>OP proceeds to get a fist up his ass by TSA agents

>implying TSA agents are intelligent enough to recognize a pepe disguised as GNU

>Squinty eye no-fingered hovering gnu trying to play a fuite.

I want to but no modern computer is supported by it.

>sjwboot

No thanks. Coreboot or gtfo.

How difficult would it be to install this on my x220? Would I need to change the WiFi card, if so does it require any soldering or is it just plug and play? Would I still be able to switch between a drive with Linux and a drive with windows?

only the main developer is an sjw.

that looks almost exactly like my setup, only i have a t500

you can libreboot an x220

How did you put pepe in libreboot? TELL ME !!!

Because it works on like four fucking devices FUCK yourself.

Libreboot isn't expected to arrive for the X220 until later this year.

OP already explained this

I actually have

>cbfstool
Any guide?

It works on 17 devices you dumb fuck

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libreboot

nice kb

I used to use it back when it was called LinuxBIOS, on the GA-M57SLI-S4 that I bought specifically for the purpose since it was supported. Unfortunately that board broke and I still haven't found anything that I can buy now that supports Libreboot.
I really miss it, though. Having a good boot loader in ROM and the whole boot process over serial output was wonderful, especially for servers.

Reminder than with Libreboot you don't need a bootloader on your /boot partition, so, you can encrypt your /boot partition with your kernel inside.

She posted her sjw rant on the projects' website. That's a massive red flag alone. You just don't do that. That's abuse of power.

Made the mistake of getting a T60p and a T420 with discrete GPU... Luckily I also have an X220T, so hopefully I'll get libreboot support by the end of the year, and then I can free my main machine.

hows that work? because the loader is in the bios or something?

I want to libreboot my thinkpad I just dont want to buy a raspberry pi. Are there any hackerspaces near houston yall know about?

Waiting for X220 support.

with libreboot you can have grub as payload

cool, thanks for answering.

Because my hardware doesn't support it. Also it's not useful to me, since my cpu is backdoored anyway

use --help or broswse libreboot.org

It doesn't support any of my hardware.

you can use coreboot and me_cleaner to get a nearly entirely free x220

Because I was not careful enough at choosing hardware in the past. Next time I will be more conscious.

because I have a gf

>because I have a gf
you should buy her a librebooted thinkpad for birthday

>>Leah Rowe

WHY

That government sentence sounds like a threat

average wypipo

> visits vimuser.org
wtf I love emacs now

emacs > vim

vim > emacs

computers > computers

computers with libreboot > computers without libreboot

libreboot > libreboot

what's even the difference between this and coreboot?

food > drink

you know why

I don't have crippling autism

I'm waiting for it to be effortlessly easy for the X200 tablet.

coreboot has blobs for several things(e.g. ME)
libreboot removes those blobs to make an entirely free boot firmware

Get an ARM Chromebook then.

It's the same, just deblobbed.

So coreboot essentially still allows the ME to function, right? I'm using coreboot on a Chromebook that I've installed a linux distribution on and was wondering about that.

Yes, you can use me_cleaner to clean most of the ME.

Okay thank you. I'll look into that. I spoke to someone who writes custom firmware before and he claimed that only the business class computers and an active ME and that regular commercial class did not. Is that bullshit?

had an active ME*

ME is active on any modern intel platform.
Maybe he talked about AMT, which is only active on some business computers.

Go fuck yourself

They're working a process to make the X200 series internally flashable like the X60 series

The ME is on every single chipset since circa 2006/2007, AMT is one possible module that can be included with the ME.

Because I'm very busy with school and work at the moment and don't have time to fuck around with computers right now

Do you think Intel have given access to NSA? They must have.
