The software is fucking fine but nobody has ever tried to make it looking half fucking decent

the problem with customizing Mint Cinnamon is it literally can not look better than the defaults, the distro is just too good to personalize

yes it does suck still. it's getting better. I'm thinking about making my own *buntu spin and stealing from each one. because there are a bunch of components on each one that work really well, but every single distro is shit currently.
yes linux mint default theme looks like ass and it's tough to make it look half decent.
Linux is a kernel, it's not a GUI, it doesn't look like anything.
If you think Cinnamon looks bad, use another desktop environment that you like better.
Gnome is pretty stylish if you're not using ubuntu.
They've somehow found how to make it ugly.
Can't you like customize the icons, theme, wallpaper & colour? What could look bad about that then?

Isnt that basically what those GUI respositories are for? SUSE has one. That or the online ones with basically executables?
I find it ironic that I usually hate vanilla cinnamon, but this screenshot on a post talking about shitty aesthetics is the one time I think the mint team has done a nice job.
