honestly GNOME
it's the most release ready
you dont need extensions its good by default
some the devs are fags so :/

OpenSUSE Leap/Tumbleweed + KDE

also nautilus sucks performance wise - slow to show thumbnails of dirs with pics otherwise its goat

>don't need extensions
Good lord, yes you do.

Plasma / Neon.

Haven't had any major issues, it looks great and is very full-featured. For my work computers, it's really quite good.

Manjaro's xfce is kinda neat (they have the whisker menu added). KDE is very customizable although it requires some time to get used to locations of all the settings (if you're migrating from some other DE). KDE is neat and pretty but it sucks up quite a bit of ram. Although most ram hungry software are the web-browsers...

you really don't (apart from the git.gnome ones maybe)

I use ubuntu and I've been using unity until recently, i switched to i3. I like the tiling and workspaces for the different categories of windows i have open and i don't need to use a crappy laptop mouse to move between them

KDE

systemd's upcoming DE looks promising

wut

None, i3 is the best wm.
I am on debian.

>ask for de
>get wm
t-thanks jee

My answer to that question was "no DE", which is the best DE.

>I am on debian.
kek is this the new arch meme

>kek is this the new arch meme
No, why would it be? Debian existed for a lang time and well known for its stability.
It really is the exact opposite of arch.

this.

GNOME. The only DE which feels like it was made by somebody who knows a thing or two about an interface design and usability. It's somewhere in between a keyboard driven twm and a classical desktop.
Every other DEs are just Windows ripoffs.
it annoys me so much that if I open a GUI application from a terminal in i3, the terminal itself is not going away. The only twm which can do that is dwm with a swallow plugin but dwm is not dynamic so fuck it.

GNOME is so comfy. Although I probably wouldn't use it on a laptop.

Is this the new Gnome sucks thread?

Daily reminder then that the Gnome, GTK, and Red Hat devs are absolute cancer and that they are single-handedly destroying the Linux desktop.

weird it def makes the most sense on laptop

KDE on Arch

i use kde plasma
i would not use gnome on a desktop computer but for a tablet it is a good gui
xfce is a bit old with gtk2 so no wayland support which is a must for
lxde and the rest low resource DEs just not necessary for me. Sure they are good on old or weak hardware.
i could not get cinnamon working properly with any other distro but linix mint
mate is just xfce with different name
