Is there any reason to own an Android in 2017?

Is there any reason to own an Android in 2017?

Yeah, Geekbench is useless.

>geekbench
>for comparing different architectures
It must hurt to be that retarded.

No.

Apple is 2 years ahead in processor design.

If you buy a new android you’re buying a 2 year old phone,

This

first trips best trips

Different WiFi connections.

Obvious on browser test.

Nope, both were connected to the same 802.11n 300Mbps connection wifi router a foot away. In fact the iPhone got a faster download speed and still lost.

>have fastest phone ever
>Can't do shit with it because everything cool isn't apple approved
Yeah, lot of good that did.

1. Real file system
2. Faster OS navigation
3. Material Design
4. Google Assistant
5. Cheaper pricing
6. They don't run Siri
7. Sup Forums apps
8. Real data sharing between apps
9. Fast app switching
10. Android Auto

iSheep will never understand.

No matter how far ahead the hardware is, iOS simply isn't very good. I don't mind it too much on my tablet where pretty much all I do is watch videos and light web browsing, but I don't think I could deal with it on a phone. I don't like the homescreen. The notification system is horrific. Not being able to set default apps is a huge pain.

>My cheap 2012 laptop with an E1-1200 and 2GB of memory can open a browser just fine

Is there any point in looking at smartphone specifications other than screen size, ergonomics and aesthetics?

>never leaves the basement

No, seriously. What do people do on their phones that requires a cutting edge 8 core CPU and 6GB of memory?

I get the need for a bigger screen, more battery life, etc. But when it comes to computing performance, isn't there a point where diminishing returns kick in?

...

root and thousands basic features like overclocking, firewall, adblocking, third party apps etc.
enjoy your fashion piece pretending to be technology that's good only for phone games

>Google Assistant

Actually I'm impressed by that performance that BTFOs current android phones, however there's no point in having all that performance if you can't do shit aside from facebook and browsing webpages with the device.

written like someone from reddit
also
>Real file system
>Faster OS navigation
subjective
>Material Design
how exactly is this good? not everyone like material design
>Google Assistant
botnet (not to mention you can already download it from the app store)
>Cheaper pricing
pajeet poorfag confirmed
>They don't run Siri
and? this is just more subjectivity
>Sup Forums apps
don't need an app to browse the site
>Real data sharing between apps
>Fast app switching
subjective
>Android Auto
more botnet and not necessary
look in the mirror- it's just a brand.
you sound like a mindless, autistic fanboy.

What exactly is the point of powerful hardware when everything that requires powerful hardware isn't allowed on the app store and/or isn't suitable for a phone anyway? I heard that you can't even use virtualization software lol

caus iphone 7 was still fast on geekbench and hilariously slow compared to the big guys in real life

its not like apple will cheat right? RIGHT?

Name a single reason to have all that computational power in a fucking phone, other than having your apps load quarter of a second faster.

>rather something load slower than faster

Fagdroid apologists.

>own an Android
Nu-Sup Forums everybody.

I don't care about fagdroid nor about itoddlers, i want to know what do you need all that power for other than emulating old games, which can be done on a phone from 2012.

>this same dog shit video which isn't phonebuff style
Nice try, Pei.

It won’t be considered fast in two years.

Technology usually advances towards more complex programs therefore it’s good to future proof your phone.

Also improving the IPC of ARM will allow it to eventually compete with x86 for laptops, etc.

0.001$ has been deposited into your account Rajash.

I have zero problems with having high performance in a smartphone.

I do have issue with shitty benchmarks that misrepresent the performance of the processors, though.

why do i need a 10472 score to make phone calls and send muh dick pictures via whatsapp?

Some people like Android as a platform over iOS just as someone who like iOS would prefer it over Android.
It's called preference and people can be different.

>geekbench

You know, can't take this seriously when the iphone has lower specs than the oneplus 3t and still has like 1 second of difference when opening apps (it should be a much bigger difference). Either the android software is unoptimized as fuck or there's something incredibly wrong with the oneplus.

Reminder that applel STILL cant do this.

>flash
That cancer needs to die

Fuck flash but iOS can't even properly into webM.

...

>sell your kidney for the fastest phone on the market
>you don't even really own it since applel decides what you can use that compute power for

>damage control
No, it's simple logic and common sense. The oneplus should've blown away the iphone, yet it barely wins.

> but iOS can't even properly into webM.
They still cant? Don't know if this is hilarious or sad. It also reminds me of Microsoft Edge having problems playing webm on Sup Forums. I think it doesn't support a codec or something.

All I know is that Google gave me a free 128 gb Google Pixel XL after my Nexus 6P conked out.

Feels good

apple is 2 years ahead with processing power but 30 years behind when it comes to copying files to your phone

Are people seriously believing that a phone is faster than two new laptops?

I fucking hate iTunes.

6GB of ram doesn't make a phone faster it just makes it better at multitasking you dunce
