For the past day now, I haven't been able to see notifications when I receive text messages on my Nexus 5. Anyone else have this issue? Is my phone dying?

No idea. What rom? I doubt anyone who frequents Sup Forums is still using M.

This is stock Android. I'll try to uninstall the default Messenges app and reinstall it.

did you check notification log widget, and see if the text notification went through?

I'm gonna buy a blackberry classic
any tips?

Can I turn on wifi calling on my q10 without a bb ID account?
How does wifi calling work?

off, not on
it's already on and it doesn't turn off unless I turn off wifi

How long does one need to wait to get a decent discount on a flagship? I got my eyes on the N8 or the V30.

You can get the G5S+ 64/4 for $299 if you preorder it. Why is the X4 a thing?

>a $200 Moto G5 plus gets you this

What's even the point of buying flagships?

Atleast 5 months for galaxy, v30 should fall down quickly if it follows the path of g6

Why buy a classic a d not a passport if you really want bb10? I actually really liked the keyboard on mine and the specs are way better.

Hey that used to be my phone, back when I had my qt3.14 kgf. Fuck man.
Question, should I just get any 10 dollar tempered glass or do brand name ones actually offer anything better?
Just want something that will stick really and not gather dust.

Moto G5 or G5 Plus?

Buy the passport instead. Using it rn and its comfy

good phone around 200 usd?

Plus

>reasons to get a g6
>reasons to not get a g6
go

>not to get
Korean aids rom
Average battery life

Reminder that if you own and operate a smartphone you are not Sup Forums you are a normie and you need to leave.

How is the nexus 6p in the current year? It's selling for 300$, a good deal?

Bought an unlocked SGS7 for $380

Was it a good deal?

No

Do you guys think the launch of the G5S+ will drive down the cost of the G5S? I'm not sure if I should take advantage of the pre-order deal for the G5S+ or gamble on picking up the G5S for cheap. I prefer the G5S overall due to its smaller dimensions, but the dual camera on the G5S+ is inciting.

>$200 Moto G5 plus

You meant the G5 right? The plus model is still ~$300, unless you were referring to the aids prime version with built in bezos spyware.

>no notification led

WTF WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA

mobile.twitter.com/ArtemR/status/911450891592466433

Is this a more hardcore version of the bixby button? This is just going to activate in everyone's pockets.

Also I can't stop laughing at the always listening to music thing.

New Pixel 2 leaks coming in

>always listening for music to identify

>Portrait mode camera with software blur

>Search bar below dock in launcher

Still shaping up to be shit.

>always listening for music to identify
Wtf is this thing even needed? It will drain battery and traffic

gonna wait for the announce and if its shit I dunno what I'll do

>s8 is curved
>iphone has massive bezels or retarded notch
v30 maybe?

I'm feeling the same except i don't want something as big as the v30 so my options are pretty limited.

I think I'll keep my s7 until it dies (which is pretty soon since the battery has gone to garbage in the past 2 months) I think I might try replacing the battery

>always listening for music to identify

sure music is the only thing they'll be hearing yeah

>s7
I'm running an s5 so I'm a little more rushed to replace it. Thinking of getting an s7 if the pixel falls flat and the v30 never gets announced

S7 is great. Don't expect it to last 2 years though. A lot of s7 forums are getting a lot of posts about battery degredation now (it's only 1.5 years old)

G5S is not worth it, either get the G5 Plus or G5S Plus

the 4/64 non-Amazon Prime version is $299, but it's been on sale for $230-250 several times, the 2/32 version is usually $229 but it's been on sale for under $200 before (it's $219 on Amazon right now)

anons, what app is good to see the real specs of a phone? I got a xiaomi after a long wait and I want to see if i got chink'd or not.

CPU-Z

Make sure you're not on a vendor ROM either

all specs are ok, feels good. Thanks for the app user.

Vendor ROM here, but I anticipated it and I already doing the leg work to get a good ROM from the xiaomi community.

Femanon here
The G6 is prone to bootlooping like every other LG flagship of the last four years. Avoid

Should I just wait for this to be released?
I only care about small bezels, headphone jack, and sub 5.8" screen.

Looking to buy a new phone.
>Australia
>budget of about $300 AUD
>expandable memory
>good battery life is also a must

Yeah, I meant to say if the G5S+ will drive the cost down of the G5+. I'm not considering the G5S model at all.

My essential phone has been great so far with the exception that I realized the mesh on the speaker grill is missing.

It's such a thin and small mesh that I hadn't noticed. Apparently you can't even see it in most promotional pictures because of it.

I contacted essential and they will send me a replacement next week along with a return slip for my current one.

I'm looking for something around $200 to replace my Zenfone 2 which has a screen flickering issue.
I can probably go 240 but not more than that.
Looking at Moto G4, Redmi 4 right now. Are there any better stuff around that price range?

I want to buy cheapest snapdragon device.

Any recommendations?

Moto G5S+ for $229, check OP

Verizon prepaid Moto E4 for $40

That's opposite of cheap

a patrician choice, check crackberry for latest os leak and dont bother loading it up with google services.
>f droid and yalp store does pretty much everything you'd ever want.
>for a native voice recording app Parrot is best (if you get the pro version you can record calls too)
>Search retroarch, its a emulator for.. pretty much every game system and would probably rock with physical keys. i dont know for sure i didnt installed it.
>there are two great native clients for instagram (android version wont work or so ive heard)
>dont forget to enable "access using wifi" on Storage and access. This phone has a built in samba file server and you can reach both internal and external storage on any device in the same network. it isnt blazing fast but works great for viewing pictures and copying documents.

>snapchat wont work, dont even bother with casper it triggers ban.
>blackberry blend is utterly broken.(on windows, i didnt attempt it on ipad or mac)
>if you want to set up a vpn, make sure your service offers IKEv2 protocol. openvpn l2tp vs wont work.

Not available with snapdragon here, only shit MTK version.

How about Redmi 4A

>I'm looking for something around $200
>I can probably go 240
How is $229 too much?

It's good, probably the cheapest decent snapdragon phone you can get if the snapdragon Moto E4 isn't available

Terribly sorry, didn't mean to reply to you

What about used phones? Should I buy a used Moto G4/G4 Play? I don't really feel good about these fucking chinese companies like Mi.

And Moto has jacked up the prices of their snapdragon models, cheap models like moto E/M/C all have MTK.

$445 - OnePlus 5 64GB
$538 - OnePlus 5 128GB
$573 - S8
$626 - S8+

Which one /gee/?

OP 5 for functionality
S8 for quality and support

Well Moto phones have the benefit of having stock android so if that something you want to for it. But Lenovo is just as Chinese as Xiaomi.

Sitting comfy with my OP5.

Just bought a Nokia 5 after 4 years with a Windows Phone. Pretty happy with the new phone.

Going to an iPhone after years of Android exclusivity. Have a kid that uses a lot of education apps and other things exclusive to Apple. Would it be worth waiting on the X or should I just go for the 8plus? I really like that the X is smaller but sure I wanna sink 1200 for the 256 gb X.

Battery on phone is starting to die, looking to get a new one. Budget $300.
Wants
>Long battery life
>physical/capacitive buttons
>headphone jack
>Water resistant
optional
>a fingerprint scanner
>can print vinyl covers for it/covers available online

What carrier is the best?

t. 18-year-old soon living on his own, American

here is a cute grill to attract attention to my vital post

Premium design and cameras, waterproof, basically new "nexus" phone with google backing and fi support. The x4 is overpriced to be powered by a 630 but it definitely is designed and marketed as upper-middle range

Note 4 is starting to shut off and endless reboot at 80% when doing anything but idling, and I'm afraid it's not just a battery issue.
Why does every other phone have to be so shit?

I'm assuming you're poorfag as fuck so poorfag carriers like MetroPCS, Cricket Wireless, etc.

because you own a shit phone nigger

I wanna buy the moto z
good or not

Is the Moto G5 Plus still the ~$300 king?

no chinkshit

Which one? Theyre mostly good but it depends on how much you pay, what features you want etc.

Honor 8 is below 300, but the moto mid-rangers are pretty good

Lenovo is chinkshit

what's the best waterproof android out there right now?

I'm not buying LG both my Nexus 5 and Nexus 5x bootlooped on me those pieces of shit

Galaxy S7 or better

Ugh why all the simple questions
Budget
Size
Features
Etc

If you don't care just go buy some galaxy

Galaxy Note 8

snapdragon 820,4G RAM,32G ROM at least 64G will be great
2k pixels,5.2~5.7inch

Just Z not Z play or any other
300~350usd moto z is OK?
The phone mod is pretty cool .I like it, not useless right?

guys I need to buy phone for my sister.
What are good phones that are 60-70$ used?

Is there guide to understand ARM CPUs? Like how to tell one is better than the other?

Alternative I'd like to get android tablet, to use as PDF reader, any suggestions?

The mods are mostly gimmick but yeah, not useless, plus theyre backwards compatible so all the new ones work on the old phone. 350 isnt a bad price, it's still a very competent phone even at a yr old, and it has a great software experience and updates should be good. On the downsides, a more "basic" camera, smallish battery without the mod, no waterproofing or headphone jack. If all of that sounds fine, it's not a bad choice. Really we're at the point where most all large market flagships are good, it's just specific features and software that makes the difference.

I was thinking about getting Moto G or Galaxy s3?

Moto E is 40$ when you buy it as a prepaid bundle, so you get a month of service with it. It has simple software, removeable battery, and totally serviceable performance for dirt cheap. I wouldnt buy a phone as old as the s3 and the e4 is basically a better, newer g

Is there a cheap phone with a physical keyboard that can be turned into a mini Linux desktop?

I'm not from US. So that prepaid bundle is not an option.

Where/what site where you planning on getting it from?

No

some local version of Ebay/Craiglist.

Anyone here knows what I must do to have .opus files showing up in my music player. When I search them manually they play just fine but they don't show up in the Google Music Player.

If youre on a local site looking at used devices it's pretty difficult as your mileage may greatly vary. I would just compare specs and condition of the phones and make the best choice, you don't have a lot to work with which is tough. I don't know if Swappa operates in your country but they specialize in selling used phones and often have great deals and reliable sellers. I would look there if possible. Good luck user

Looking for a phone in the $200 range. New preferred.

Mostly care about it being well built, as well as having decent screen and battery life. A fingerprint scanner would also be nice.

I have shitty reception at home, so anything with a weak antenna is a pain.

Needs to work in the USA, with Ting.

What's a basic browser that focuses on speed/adblocking, but doesn't need to refresh entire pages to open drop-down menus (unlike opera mini)?

Firefox focus or brave

I loved my e71.

Moto G5S+ for $229, check OP

Why not just get the keyone?

Get another music player

Moto g lines, honor 6x, ulefone t1
