I don't have to wash my clothes by hand, because commercial washer and dryers automated the process. It takes 4~ hours to do by hand, not including drying.
Similarly dishwashers also take a ton of labor off of my hands every evening.
I can buy coffee pre roasted, done in an automated oven, and grind it in an electric automatic grinder. Something that used to all be done by hand. It takes just seconds for me in the morning.

Automation has done wonders to elevate the common man and make life easier. Quality of life in the developed world is high, we enjoy countless luxuries, even those living below the poverty line enjoy creature comforts and high tech electronics produced in high volume automated assembly lines that reduce cost.
