They're big

They're big.
They're clunky.
They're clumbersome.

Does Sup Forums own a tablet?
What does she use it for?
Windows, Android of iOS?

LG GPad 8.3 here, using it to watch videos and browse in bed. Flashed stock 6.0.1, keeps up well, although my usage is very light.

I wish the newer ones were better, but they all seem worse.

I prefer using an oversized phone.
Tablets are too big to comfortably hold with one hand...

Surface Pro 2017 m3.
Decent for art and handles streaming with ease. I regret not spending more for a Cintiq now that I got a taste of Wacom with my Note 8. N-Trig is way behind Wacom.

Fire HD8. got it on prime day thinking I'd read books on it.

I read Akira and NHK on it and do nothing else with it. It's a manga machine. I read actual books on my phone which is more comfortable.

Nah, I have a 2-in-1 laptop.
It's like a shitty tablet and a shitty laptop for the price of both.

Using a Lenovo 7" something. Used to watch porn on it while masturbating. But the current Browser is shit for that (firefox klar) Now I just use it when I work on the car or bike. So I don't have to print out everything I look at.

I had a LG G Pad 8.3, used it for reading manga and watching anime, and sometimes web browsing. Also porn.

I replaced it with Huawei mediapad m3, doing the same shit, except better battery now.

Yes.
Reading PDFs mostly, watching some stuff.
Android 4.4.1
>Why tablet?
Because it's lighter to carry, easily replaceable, comfy at bed.

>LG G Pad 8.3
What version of android you were running?
>mediapad m3
What's your opinion of it? performance wise?

I have nexus 7 (2012) still on 4.4.4, and I was thinking if i should get a new decent tablet or just get cheap chink one.

that hand is so confusing and ugly, why would they hire pajeet hand models

Still actively using a samshit nope 2014 tablet I bought second hand two years ago
Everything just werks

I have a Ipad (Gen 5) that I used for traveling, development, and a little gaming (older rpgs ports).

I'm and I was looking at the same tablet to upgrade to. How is it? Do you think it beats the Lenovo P4 tablets?

bought one of these for $150 a while back. flashed RR on it and it's pretty snappy. but recently it's been having a problem where the tablet thinks it's charging when it's not. and when I do charge it I doesn't notice I plugged it in until I restart the thing. pretty shitty experience all together

retard who installed pajeetrom complaining

I dont.
They are stupid.

Because thats a lenovo p2 and lenovo phones are famous in india

it's not the rom causing issues genius

i have a kindle fire hdx 7th gen black, it aint that bad i like it i installed the google play market on it, its battery isnt that bad pretty standard. But i would love to upgrade if i wasent so poor.

>she
Did you just assume my gender?

I put it on my stationary bike and watch pmv's while doing cardio.

Surface Pro 3 i5 256GB.

I got sick or carrying around a heavy laptop but wanted the full windows experience. It's useful for browsing, lunch time games, watching films and using to fix the office. Battery can be a bit shit though.

I use it to read full color PDFs for work/study.

I have a Nexus 7 2013 (flo). I'm looking for a new one with a FullHD screen but I haven't found one yet.

I broke my MacBook screen in Korea so I bought a cheap Huwahei tablet to watch cartoons on.. Never used it since

Original Nexus 7.
I use it for reading books, watching videos and idle web surfing.
I find it much more comfortable to do this on a 7" screen, than on an oversized phone. I don't find an oversized phone to be a comfortable phone either, mine is a small one, since I have a tablet for all multimedia needs. Also, Android 4.4 is a great build, I am not updating it on purpose.

This is a dilemma I've had for a while. I need a portable big screen for studying pdf/ebook files.
Should I go tablet or e-reader? I value quality and readability, any recommendations welcome.

>Android 4.4 is a great build, I am not updating it on purpose.
You too?
Have you updated then downgrade?

I had a Samsung galaxy tab 4 7"
Used it in college in lieu of a physical text books.
It sucked and there was an issue with the screen randomly dimming.
but I still really liked it for watching Netflix in bed.
Gave it to my aunt when I was visiting family in a shithole country. I wanted her to have something that she could go onto facebook with so that she can keep in contact with her elderly mother.

Within my third world country family, that's what tablets are the best for: checking facebook in the absence of a pc/smartphone.

I'd like another tablet but specs and price points are in an awkward place. I don't need something powerful to draw or take notes on, but those are the only ones of quality. Tablets at the under $150 mark are still lagging ass with 1gb of RAM and 8gb of ROM, wtf?

Why not get a phone?

...

nice bezels fatty

I have a Teclast x98 Plus

stopped charging after like 6 months

anyone knows how to fix?
maybe it needs soldering?

Yeah, one day I got tired of that permanent update available notification in the left corner of the screen, so I did download 5.1 update. This slowed the tablet to the point of literal slideshow. White interface also looked fucking ugly to me after comfy dark grey of 4.4. So I used forbidden black magic to curse google developers for this abortion of an update, afterwards downloading the factory image and flashing it back. Never again will I fall for update meme from big G.

...

I don't like watching video on a 5.5" screen.
I like the bigger battery on tablets.

You forgot most are on older versions of android.
Also most social media apps, slow down the devices.
Cleanness, at least for me.

What do you do about newer apps that require android updated API?

...

I am yet to see a critical feature being unavailable for me. Furthermore, but a single app asked for a newer version of os this far. And it works just fine without updates, so they can fuck off.

Fixed PDFs like big textbooks, they don't work nice on my kobo aura. Also scrolling is slow.

I got the regular iPad 2017 editions, which is surprisingly cheap for the specs. I like it very much to read articles and textbooks.

Only thing I kind of moss is the annotation support in iBooks, but I can't going to buy an iPad pro. I just write notes on paper now. (Better for retention anyway)

Do you use NewPipe or mpv?
Also several google frameworks have updated to the latests versions.
Did you notice any effects?

I have an iPad air, I read ebooks, and use it for recipes in the kitchen and when i want to quickly look something up or just mindlessly browse

Call me a pleb, but I've got XPlayer.
As for Google aps, no, there are no issues yet.
I'm still getting updates for chrome/gmail/youtube/docs/ets. Third party aps from competent developers (i.e. Telegram) are also still getting updates.
I reverted google search updates though, since the old one looks clean and stylish on home screen, while new one has this clunky "G" logo colored in gay rainbow.

>XPlayer
You mean MXplayer?
>9 degree
What's that app?
Also you can remove the update notification for more aesthetic look, by opening the service and disable the notification.
How's battery life? does social media apps slow down the performance for you?

Fire HD 8 or whatever. I usually just watch videos and read, like it for portability.

Amazon is coming out with a new 10" tablet, $150. I'll probably buy it, but on Black Friday, it'll most likely be 30% off. Same thing happened last year with the HD8.

I have an Nvidia Shield tablet, I love that fucking thing. I haven't had a laptop for 2 years, I use it for everything. Torrenting Twin Peaks, PDF'ing receipts and finance documents, playing Baldur's Gate on the train. It's a near-perfect tablet, it has everything, HDMI out, stylus support, up to date official Android releases. I hope to God Nvidia make a new one, but it doesn't seem too likely.

>Baldur's Gate
What's the appeal?

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=video.player.videoplayer
That's an app from a local weather forecast service, I doubt it would me of much use for you.
I do not use social media that much, besides Telegram. I mean, I have some client installed because of my normie friends who asked me to sign up, but I seldom use them. Anyway, Android is really smart in this regard. It allows messenging apps to check for inbox, but once they stayed too long in the idle mode, it would kick them into process cache, so that they do not eat up ram.

x230t masterrace

>he doesnt know of k2pdfopt

>Android is really smart in this regard.
Which version?
Viber and messnger for facebook really slow down the device and I have to kill the process.
Haven't tried telegram, is it good ?

I can't really stand the whole mobile OS thing to be honest. Be it phone or tablet.

Samsung TAB S2.
It's pretty great for reading but I don't use it very much.

It's arguably the best CRPG ever made, and works pretty well on an 8" touchscreen with pinch to zoom etc. Yes, the Android version is the Enhanced Edition with extra gay characters, but you can just ignore/kill them and enjoy the rest of the game as intended

use one of those mobile wrapper apps for facebook

I have a Kindle Fire that I used to play Japanese cartoon tiddy games on, but all the ones I liked have shut down. Now the tablet just sits committing ad fraud to generate 30 cents per day.

If quality is more important than battery life, definitely go for a tablet. I read on my iPad Air 2 and it's wonderfully sharp.

4.4.4. KitKat. Viber is a piece of shit, true that, but I often see the system putting it into cache, as well as Skype. I never used Facebook app though. Telegram is great, it is lightweight, it has nice clean interface, some encryption tools that I never used, but which would probably make paranoid cyber security enthusiasts happy.

>Samsung TAB S2
I see this get recommended a lot.
What's your opinion on it?
The price is a little bit on the high side.

>mobile wrapper apps for facebook
The messenger is not the same as facebook app.

messenger lite

Not supported on my device.

I have an ipad 2 which was handed down to me by my grandmother (she has too much money and lets salesmen talk her into buying new devices regularly).
it's starting to slow down and crash randomly. not sure if I'm going to buy a new tablet as my phone is plenty and I'm thinking about buying a convertible as soon as 7nm zen mobile becomes available.

Tablets are actually really useful if you use them as a replacement for a laptop, given that you're not using it for complex tasks.

I try to code on my laptop while watching videos on my tablet.

The original Tab S8.4 is better in every respect, it has haptic feedback, camera flash, IR blaster and arguably better aspect ratio. The tech specs are pretty much the same.

install it anyway

i have an Asus Transformer pad with Android.
It's shit.

Kill those nails with acid

needed a laptop on my trip to spain, got a chromebook, installed linux on it, cant be happier

What is it?

I have an iPad Pro.

is the surface a tablet? I've never used it as one

This is the only acceptable solution
why would you put shitty unoptimized wangblows on a tablet or buy a terrible lagdroid

This. By far the superior tablet.

samsung tab somethingorother (~2015) 8 inch

It's laggy as shit, and the fact that my buddies basemodel ipad of similar age still runs smoothly, it made me not want to buy Samsung products, including their phones. It was always kind of laggy from day 1 but I got it for like 50% off through pricematching another place.

pretty comfy to read academic papers on, though. A nice companion but it's lagginess relegated it to being an ebook reader or 5-tab browsing machine.

How? the play store doesn't allow it, and I can't get the APK.

Nexus 7. Pretty much YouTube and internet, occasionally PDFs for /tg/ shit. It's been stuck in portrait mode for like two years now because of gyroscopes or some shit

>Lolipop is slow on Nexus 7 2012
youtube.com/watch?v=KH_rFLTGXnI

>he doesnt have a phablet

>lagPad trash

this is the only acceptable option

10.5 inch
2560x1600
16:10 aspect ratio
RGB OLED screen

this was released in like 2014 but its still the best android tablet to date

>being a tablet

Windows tablets are the best for work, then iOS and finally android.

Venue 8 pro, it's a small windows 8 tablet
It's good

I have a first gen Nexus 7 laying around somewhere.

It's slow as hell though. I think I tried updating it to Android 5.0 a few years ago and it was just too resource intensive for it. I should roll it back to 3 or whatever it released with. Maybe it plays well with customs roms too. Haven't experimented with it much.

Acer a1-840fhd. It was cheapest tablet i could buy 3.5 years ago that had ips fullhd screen(1920*1200 actually). It has fucking atom, which make tablet bretty hot and kills battery in 3 hours of internet browsing.

Galaxy Tab 4. I use it to stream shit while I'm at work since the store has free wifi. Just plug it into a portable radio that has an AUX In line and I'm good to go.

I use mine only to read manga.
Good purchase tbqhwy.

>she

How is this better than Nvidia shield?

Use 4.4.4, or Lineage.

I have a tegra note but I just use it to snort coke off of

I never used one but im thinking about getting one for my mom instead of another laptop because she would overheat or break it eventually like with all her laptops

ipad pro 10.5
I mostly use it to draw and browse the internet while in bed.
Not worth the asking price, but as a premium toy it's really good; I don't really regret buying it.

My uni gave me an iPad mini 3 years ago
Great for reading PDFs, that's all.

Mipad for sadpanda and 4chen.

I have mipad2 and I use it for porn.
