Firefox Quantum

ITT: With the release of Firefox Quantum on NOV 14, and the promises of %30 less memory, twice as fast, and a new (((web engine))), will FFQ be all it's cracked up to be? Opinions welcome!

I'll consider switching when it's twice as fast as Chrome :^)

But will it support muh extensions?

This unironically

about:addons and search addons marked legacy on the extension finder.

I know this is supposed to be a joke but after they are done with webrender and "quantum dom" it very well could be.

I would never use Chrome so I'm glad Firefox is leveling the playing field.

it seems fishy that it got such an upgrade after they became butt buddies with google

been using 57. uses like the same memory and cpu as chrome lol. idk where this 30% theyre talking about is

Quantum has been in development for a long time, what are you talking about?

Latest Nightly is already Quantum, right?

Amazing on my tablet in landscape, feels great and comfy just like desktop Firefox

>using a tablet in 2K17

its above. its 58.a

Just installed Firefox Quantum beta and it works like a charm so far. That said, I've upgraded from FirefoxNightly and I won't have to put up with the near daily updates.

its fast as hell i dont even care that the devs are cucks

I'll consider switching when/if it gets functional tree style tabs.

What are you using now that has them?

>soros browser

Firefox with the tree style tabs addon.
I don't think that this addon will be available with the new extension API.

Actually

Still new and needs work but it's possible to accomplish tree tabs with the webextensions APIs. Currently Firefox does not support hiding the tab bar though, Mozilla is trying to figure out the best way to implement something like that.
