What's an old-looking DE or WM that I can use for my new Gentoo Linux installation? Something like blackboxwm or kde1.0 preferably.

KDE Plasma 5 with an old theme

I like windowmaker

blackbox

FVWM

iceWM

Trinity DE (KDE 3 looks)

Fluxbox

i've tried them all on ubuntu i guess they should work with gentoo.

you can add openbox that looks quite retro by default even if you can rice it to look more modern

then you can add all the WMs in existance (i3, dwn, awesome, ratpoison, bspwm, xmonad, herbstluftwm, spectrwm...)
They all look quite retro by defautl.

*dwm

ERMAHGERD HERBSTLUFTWM

GNUstep

MaXX

Rox-Desktop

X-Window

UDE

those I haven't tried and are actually retro. They probably won't work on a modern system unless you're a wizard

They said gentoo, MaXX works on fuck all thanks to it being propitiatory trash.

except MaXX apparently that's is a cuting edge DE for autists like suggested

lxde windows 98 styled
/thread

cde

Afterstep

The old opera design is so nostalgic

Unity

AfterStep is by far the most aesthetically comfortable desktop environment ever made.

why are you all using 320x200 resolution ?

can't you just use a normal wm with theming
xfwm has a couple of them, chicago95 and another one I don't remember the name of

was going to suggest this
