whats a reasonably priced DAC? also, is there such thing as an HD598 but with a little punchier bass?

>whats a reasonably priced DAC?
~$40 for a standalone.
>also, is there such thing as an HD598 but with a little punchier bass?
Literally an HD579.

...

HiFimeDIY Sabre USB DAC ES9023

That's exactly what I was referring to when I said ~$40 for a standalone. It is measurably transparent.

i have $500 budget, whats the best amp/dac/headphones i can get on that budget?

Oh good, the real OP is back. Thanks.

MDR WH1000XM2s in the mail. Hopefully these don't crack on me like their predecessor did.

Sennheiser HD600, Schiit Magni 3, any number of DACs. If your PC has a line level out (as opposed to an amplified headphone jack) you don't even need a DAC.

Any reason you didn't just get QC-35? I haven't heard those Sonys but I heard the QC-35 and MDR-1000x side by side and the QC-35 were miles better.

there are many more options if you don't mind buying from the chinamen on aliexpress

I don't like the QC35 NC as much, plus I see those worn by normies so I'm automatically repulsed.

HD650

>there are many more options
Measurably transparent ones? That's the appeal with the Sabre. It's been measured and it's transparent. You know what you're getting.

Thanks!

is the best price to performance ratio DAC. Some may wish to get a Modi 3 just for aesthetics because it matches the Magni. It won't sound any better, though.

the magni 3 has pre-outs, right?, is there anything close to it but with line-outs?

What is the second best headphone behind the HD600?

thanks user

>he thinks the hd600 are better then the elear

The one you own right now; post 'em, faggalot

>elear
No upper mids.

>hd600
No bass

u wot m8

>No sub-bass
>Mid-bass bloat
>No soundstage
Hmmm...

>goldenears
LOL

Not an argument.

>That bass roll-off
Seems about correct

Not him, but I have HD600 and my only complaint is no bass. I didn't EQ my system but I had to take measures to boost the bass a bit.

>almost 5dB of midbass bloat
This is by far the biggest problem with the HD600.

>30 Hz, which is lower than most music ever goes, even with 1 kHz
>no bass
Pick one.

I pick no bass for 500

>he can't appreciate how the HD600's lush, sonorous warmth perfectly compliments its pellucid, mellifluous, tralucent mids and highs
What a pleb.

But in exchange you get perfect mids and treble.

>soundstage
a literal meme

is any of you guys going to RMAF this weekend?

>meme
Spoken like from someone who has listened to Sennheisers all their life

Of course I'm going to the Royal Malaysian Air Force. I'm in charge of Malaysia.

Can get new 2000Ω headphones or do I have to buy an old pair off eBay?

Nah, it's a meme. Hard to measure, extremely subjective. And not a big deal unless you listen to orchestral, classical, or do competitive gayming. who cares

Akko a cute. A cute!

...

Sennheiser owners definitely don't. Never got to experience it all their life

It's not even necessary for competitive gaming. Virtual surround works just fine with even no-soundstage IEMs. Seriously. Wear some IEMs right now and load up virtual barbershop on Youtube. Shit works just fine. "You need a big soundstage for gaming" is a big fat meme.

>what is the HD800?

I'm curious as to why you need these. Do tell.

are expensive headphones really that good
>pic related

Crystal radios

Today I learned this exists. Neat. Thanks user.

They can be. That being said, Tyll is not reacting favorably to that headphone there. He is literally in pain because that is a terrible headphone with painful treble response, much like Beyerdynamics.

Except for humans to perceive sound as "flat" or "neutral", bass has to be elevated a bit.

>eargasm.webm

you've got it backwards

>are expensive headphones really that good

some are, but not that one

Define flat. As for neutral, there are multiple objective definitions of neutral. Not all of them involve elevated bass response.

t.Latrelle

>No bass vs nigger bass
Hmm...

HD600 far outclasses Elear in both technical ability and multidynamic soundscaping.

Show us your headphones ya poorfag

I miss Locodol. Locodol was the HD600 of anime that season.

>I've been more impressed with these products than I expected, but I think they're going to have to keep working on it to beat the likes of Sennheiser.
This is a reminder that Sennheiser is THE standard in headphones.

what are the best mods for the fostex t50rp mk3?

New pads

any suggestions?

Thanks!

What are the most lightweight and comfortable ear-hook headphones with little sound bleed?

Change Log:
- Add info for HE-400I, Crossfade M-100, HD 600
- Note ESP950 includes amp
- Note greater sound leakage in 400i, 560, LCD2, ESP950, Ether

Additional comments:
I didn't say much about the HD 600 and I'm sure the shills are quite happy to tell me why the HD 600 is the #1 headphone.

There's really not much to say about the hd600, they're good for the price but have no personality, just like the people who shill them

Clamp is a non-issue with HD600: youtube.com/watch?v=iNxK-NwSR5U
"Initially strong but adjustable clamp" would be more accurate.

post your headphones

>tell you why it's #1
what's there to say that hasn't already been said

Why don't you nerds just get a beats and enjoy your music without all the fuss?
They are good. dr dre says so.

Doctor Edgy's band-aid fix up is a good cheap mod.

Post setup

What's with all these weeaboo shits? Fuck!

You do not belong on Sup Forums.

What's the best version of these earphones and are there any bluetooth variations?

What's with the Jew star?

...

Hd650, akg712, aeon flow closed, dt1990, beyerdynamic COP

>DT1990

How are the focal?

What?, I already had dark headphones, I wanted something brighter

They're great, once you get rid of the upper mid dip with EQ.

So you bought the fucking sun. Nice job.

Probably going to sell these m100s though

>So you bought the fucking sun. Nice job.
That would be grados, the dt1990 even comes with 2 sets of pads to change if you want neutral or v-shaped

>DT1990
>neutral

th-x00 ph
oppo pm3
k712
hd600
HPA4BL

nice pic

>there is actually an idiot in these threads who bought this

>b-but more treble means more detail!

how do the 712s compare to the thx00? Want a fun pair with my 600s. any reason to own both?

>all that money spent on audio gear
>tiny display
How the hell do you people settle for anything less than 32"?

k712 have a much bigger sound-stage, nice airy sound. k712 are light and comfy, good for gaming.

thx00 are bassy, warm and smooth sounding but more narrow. I really like the thx00 especially out of the hpa4bl.
comfort is meh, but find myself using these the most out of my collection.

Clarity is about the same, but the fostex has better tonality. but that said, I still like both.

holy crap i just got MEMED

they have decent detail, but have close to no bass, and they are treble cannons, first time I've gotten headaches from a headphone.

to the user that recommended these to me two days ago in placce of the Soundmagic e10's... why?

I have a big tv right next to my computer, I like my monitor though, accurate colours, 144hz.

every headphone that isn't a pro monitor or HDmemehundred is going to have a 9kpeak like that because it sounds objectively great and is superior to flat for recreational listening

So all the reviews for these are really good and I love IEM's simply for the isolation. Is there any reason to get the SR over the XR?

>*hearing loss* blocks ur path

Is burn-in real or bullshit?
