Considering gentoo is source based, can't you just compile libreetype with the patent-restricted anti-aliasing and shit? That's what namtrac does anyway.
I think cleartype_hinting should be it. The reason why it has to be compiled out by most distributions is that Microsoft owns some patents pertaining to subpixel rendering and hinting. Which is ironic because Windows font rendering is absolute shit.

I don't know if it's firefox or 4chanX, but my memory usage increases for some reason when I'm browsing Sup Forums on only 1-2 tabs. Not sure what the issue is.
If it weren't for CloverOS, I wouldn't have installed gentoo, I would still be using Arch.

This is a problem I had with a gentoo iso, it only happened on one machine (fx-8320 machine). I got around it by using a ps/2 keyboard which worked fine.
