Besides pi-hole and pivpn?
Just gt my first Pi. What are some useful things i can do with it?
Other urls found in this thread:

you can pick it up and throw it in the garbage.
Emulation
Make it a NoTrack server
shove it up your ass
you are neither funny nor helpful, fuck off and waste your time elsewhere
what's truly not helpful is the thousands of threads we get where idiots like OP buy something without actually having any use for it and then come ask Sup Forums what they should do with it
Low power shitposting machine
Retropie emulation machine (runs everything up to N64/PS1)
Any kind of web/ftp/nas server
Media Center
IoT (Alexa, robots n shit)
automatic dildo machine to fuck yourself with.
Still better than those countless and pointless stupid discussions and shilling shitfests on PC hardware and operating systems
I am OP.
> idiots like OP buy something without actually having any use for it
>Besides pi-hole and pivpn?
either you are a troll or actually retarded. i have my uses for it and was asking for additional suggestions.
>this shit is slightly better than that other shit that means we should allow it
that's not how this works
I turned mine into a shitty tor node that was good enough for a free tshirt
It's better than desktop thread number 69666420133790011738
Anyways, OP, seedbox, low power emulator/shitposting device
Shitty server.
Simple home applications, you could set up a sensor array in your house that turns the light on and off whenever you enter/exit the room.
Then go do something about those threads, then come bitch about these
I don't see any posts in any desktop threads telling them to fuck off. Where are you?
>It's better than desktop thread number 69666420133790011738
it actually isn't
>I bought a miniature programmable computer
>but I don't know why
In what way is this worse. We could give OP a fun project to waste some time and NEETbux on, meanwhile desktop threads are just neckbeards showing off their anime bullshit wasting their lives on a useless Linux desktop
Use Arch Linux on it first
Transmission
MiniDLNA
OpenVPN
Apache, MySQL, PHP
Home Automation
Other useful things you can have it so instead of you having to do them.
desktop threads are literally the only good threads on Sup Forums
shove it up your ass
>Besides pi-hole and pivpn?
Read again faggit. I bought it because of that and set it up. Now i'm looking for other stuff to do.
You're either a troll, a retard, or a retarded troll.
Or op you could simply set it up as a shitty technology thing in your wall that tells you the weather, events in town, traffic nearby, news and other bullshit so when you wake up in the morning you look at it and see
>asks what he should do with it
>besides the two things that are suggested in the shitty booklet that came with it
You are still a mrran for purchasing it without a clear plan.
i have done: mumble server, airplay receiver in the car, reverse camera in the car. the mumble server lasted about a year uptime.
Whatever...
the moment when reddit is less cancer than Sup Forums: reddit.com
anyone else enable USB booting? you have to enable a microcode on the board(uboot)
it flips a single bit to allow you to load root/boot off of a external usb without a micro sdcard
this is cool because you can use external drives for faster I/O
i wish the odroid had this capability
Why don't you migrate yourself back to r#ddit lad
Gut an NES to turn it into a case, so you can play NES games.
We see this thread endlessly. If you don't know what you're going to use it for, you're going to use it once and it's going to become a $30 paperweight.
I say this as someone who actually uses his Pi for a lot of hobbyist projects, it's great to have access to those I/O pins.
I doubt you're going to be touching them though, make your emulator box or whatever stupid shit you're gonna use and complain it can't do ps2 games or whatever.
>and complain it can't do ps2 games or whatever.
it can though
I installed kodi on mine and have it as a media player my non smart TV. Also use it to download shit from torrent and och and share it in the network via nas.
Install TempleOS
SNES emulation. Then post about it on Youtube to trigger the Nintenfucks.
Also, make sure to get an 8bitdo SNES controller to trigger them even more
>SNES Classic $100 (if you're lucky) with 21 games
>Retropie ~$60 with ALL games
Kek
>start project
>realize it can't do anything it is supposed to do
>get a hammer
>keep hitting it
>post pic
Torrentbox + python REST CLIENT
>buy something
>have no plan for it
lol how big of a consumerist sheep are you?
waiting for better radios like limesdr
otherwise you could always get a camera and just passively record stuff.
you can get a breadboard "hat" and do cool stuff with LEDs i guess.
maybe make your own appliance like a coffee maker or a clock even.
rpi 1 sucks as a dedicated seedbox, IME
Check the archive.
>It's better than desktop thread number 69666420133790011738
Sure, let's make shit thread number 69666420133790011738 instead.
Retard.
No, it can't.
>SNES emulation.
It's shit at that though, get a Wii, at least it can do 240p over RGB without any hacks and costs as much.
