In France we don't have expression to wish a good morning. We only have good day and good evening.

thanks

how savage

sometimes, when someone say good morning to me i also say good morning by reflex

Same here.
Good day = bom dia
good evening = boa tarde
Good night = boa noite
Good morning = boa manhã? ( never seen it)
We just use good day

no, why would we?

No shit. You're supposed to greet people on the street as well.

goddamnit I guess it's a romance thing, because we haven't either. I hate saying "good day" when it's fucking morning, I usually say "salve" to avoid that

Only when we know the person.

Usually just "huomenta", which translates to "morning". If being especially polite for some reason, one can say "hyvää huomenta" as in "good morning".

>goddamnit I guess it's a romance thing
It's not, we don't have "good morning" either.
We only use good day, good evening and good night, but good night is used exclusively as a farewell, not as a greeting.

Its probably just an english thing, I mean we are talking in english right now. I'm sure english isn't the only language but its why we're thinking about it right now. I wish I could speak polish and think in polish, then I could connect with you better in your own language.

We have good morning, good day and good evening but no greeting for nighttime.

We have good morning in Slovak.

Why do we english speakers not say "Good Day" to people?

>( never seen it)
maybe nobody gets up that early in brazil
