Should i wait for canon lake or get coffee lake 8600k for emulating ps3 games?

How long till cannon lake?

just get a real ps3 lol
also >>>v

PS3 emulation is in such an early state that it's impossible to tell what kind of specs it will require when it's actually optimized and not pre-alpha quality hacked together shit.

Sup Forums kiddies dont know anything about technology, so you tell me.
Don't want a ps3 with shitty resolution and no free games.

just give me something here man i'm itching to build a pc but not sure if should wait

Anything post ps2/gamecube/xbox will probably take an FGPA to emulator lma o

what?

>what is hacking/modding

sorry i dont have autism.
make it a one click solution.

RPCS3 loves cores so it will run fine with high core count cpus.

so should i wait or no?

Anything after the 6th generation of video game consoles will probably require using an FGPA to emulate without being slow as heck.

RPCS3 is already running fine on current CPUs despite being in early alpha. Decide for yourself honestly. Cannonlake is still pretty far off.

are you retarded?

As a rule of thumb, emulation requires more single-thread performance than multiple cores. However, Cannon Lake is at least a year off, perhaps even more. Might as well buy Coffee Lake since single-core performance will likely be the same.

No, but a cycle accurate emulater like BSNES can barely run on current high end arm phones. There's literally no hope for later consoles without hardware.

>As a rule of thumb, emulation requires more single-thread performance than multiple cores

That's a dumb rule. Cemu is the only emulator that requires any kind of single-threaded performance by today's standards. Anything else, bar autism-grade cycle-accurate efforts, will run full speed on a G4560. RPCS3 is the most interesting emulator around, and that's heavily multi-threaded before anything else.

autism

bump.

PS3 emulation works just fine on my Q6600, shit for brains.

Can every game run at even 720p30 LMFAO

Kill yourself, dipshit.

1) You're wrong
2) These consoles are full blown general purpose computers, an FPGA or ASIC would not provide any benefit, plus you still need graphical hardware and everything else
3) You don't just pull a hardware implementation out of your ass, software emulation is a literal prerequisite
