keyboard apps are for pytards and loosers real men uses real keyboards.
>loosers
Physical keyboards are so anti-ergonomic
Flick.
The google one, because I can't be fucked to install anything else.
SwiftKey because it's the only one that can use multiple languages simultaneously
default AOSP one because I've tried AnySoftKeyboard and the word correction was ass
You have to download the respective dictionary IIRC
oh
how do you do that?
Look for them in F-droid
I don't see one for english
swiftkey
...
SwiftKey because multiple languages. Also the suggestions are always on point. But without the botnet (NetGuard to block internet connection of the app)
Minuum
"Hacker Keyboard"
Faggy name I know, but hear me out.
PROS
Open source.
Multiple language support with a pretty easy way to swap between them
Full suite of real keyboard buttons, including modifiers
Decently customizable size
CONS
bug in caps lock can sometimes trigger and caps a word that ends in certain punctuation. Easily fixable by deleting and retyping that punctuation
kinda ghetto jank
But how do you type?
The AOSP one included in Lineage for everything but VNC. Then i switch to hacker KB for arrow keys. I really hope that microsoft ports the windows phone 10 keyboard over to android though, just for that cursor control.
How does it compare to AnySoft?
Fingers on letters, clever right?
It has really great sloppy typing, and can be maximized when you need to type something it can't guess.
What browsing app is that? Looks like clover but with tabs
Aren't you people paranoid about custom keyboards? Inb4, I know, Google. But I still rather minimizing the number of people with power to spy my keystrokes.
Just block internet access
I'm thinking about using abandonware, I mean, it's less likely to send data somewhere I guess
see
google japanese keyboard
not a nip or plan on living in japan, just want to learn japanese because my life is boring and knowing another language would be かっこいい
AOSP
I don't need anything else.
BlackBerry Keyboard
Found the Akariposter
Simple keyboard, word suggestions are for faggots
AOSP because open source
Sup Forumsboard
Don't know about swiftkey but Google keyboard is terrible when using multi language typing. It just gives you random words so you end up making switching language every time. Maybe if you use languages of the same family it's better.
Default iOS, nothing wrong with it, 3D touch cursorvis great.
>hackers keyboard
>has directional keys
SwiftKey
Haven't bothered to try others in years.
Good customization and multi language support.
I don't use a keyboard app
>SwiftKey
>Good customization and multi language support.
Same here, plus one of the few sane keyboards that support the bépo layout
GBoard
All these keyboards sell your data anyways
Looks like Mimi
What's a good jap and english keyboard? I tried google japanese input and it won't show my input on termux as I type
Gboard because my friend told me to get it
AnySoftKeyboard
Also . Physical keyboards are superior and won't kill your thumbs if you type a lot.
It's poorly optimized since v5 and was bought by Microsoft since v6. Red flags.
Fleksy
If you're on iPhone get wordflow
This
I can't even find a proper response for (you)
What the hell is this shit? Why in god's name would anybody use that??
Gracefully call me a faggot, but is there any keyboard on android that does that transparency shit
Transparency?
>need predictions
If you have a firewall: SwiftKey. (It's a botnet and owned by Microsoft now.)
If not: AnySoftKeyboard.
>don't need predictions
Simple Keyboard.
the fuck now
Looks neat for typing one handed
You'd need to be able to remember where the keys are but it's not too hard.
Gboard it's pretty good desu
It's also the botnetest.
We all need a little bit of botnet in our hearts
NinType
Gboard + AFWall
It's the one handed mode. Usually looks like this and you can change the Design manually
yea but not in our phones
I use it too. Pretty comfy.
How did you agree with this?
I'm guessing he clicked that 'I agree' button
MessageEase
Its the only one I can use without looking, and it works well for other languages.
Is this swipe based T9?
No.
You tap for the big letters, and swipe for the small ones. So to type L, you swipe down from N. To type Y, you swipe diagonally up and right from T.
It has word prediction built in but I turned it off since it's annoying.
The layout is pretty customizable, I have the numbers on the right but by default they are hidden and there is only a 3x3 single square. To reveal them you'd press ABC and the whole board would toggle.
Nice
SwiftKey. 10/10
I rotate between Chrooma for direct access to shit and quick response, SwiftKey because is comfy and messageEase for one handed use. The three of them are good.
can you flip the sides?
+1
I use ASK with suggestions off
id like to stop using the google keyboard for jap too, but havent found an alternative yet...
being different just for the sake of it?
That hard to hit space bar. :(
>Simple Keyboard
i didnt know about simple keyboard, whats so good about it? (i use AnySoftKeyboard)
PS: suggestions off
Well, it's simple. ;)
Especially compared to ASK, which has the most convoluted settings than any software I've ever seen.
I'm pretty sure Simple Keyboard is the same as the "stock" Android AOSP keyboard, nothing special really.
Also, in ASK you can't have QWERTZ without separate language-specific characters, at least not for my language.
ASK is generally pretty good, but the key layouts are awful, specially for languages different to english, english is still pretty bad tho.
Also, the settings are a fucking mess, it's like they were trying to make you not find anything
What's a keyboard app
Same
yeah i have to agree the settings on the ASK are kind of a nightmare...
simple keyboard isnt on FDroid though and yalp isnt working for some reason
and unfortunately you cant back them up
I'd like it if it wasn't for its ass words suggestion
I saw somewhere some time ago that they were in the process of uploading simple keyboard to f-droid
seems thats not the case github.com
This is basically perfect, I didn't know simple keyboard was opensource, hacker's keyboard and ASK were a pain in the ass because of limited layout options and they put a lot of shit on it like those emoji buttons
