You can install addons from github

Sucks. Have to look around for alternatives I guess

So FF57 is the Windows 10 of Firefox.

I hope there will be enough angry neckbeards to maintain a fork and archive the old extensions.

I don't need many add-ons. I have like 6. But the biggest one I use that isn't getting ported as far as I know is 'down them all'. I need it, I've used it for nearly a decade, and I won't update to 57 or higher until it gets ported or an equivalent add-on gets made

There are a few already:
Waterfox
Pale Meme
GNU IceCat

Why is cyberbox not recommended anymore?

The future is waiting for you, user.

>mfw someone uses the new Firefox near me

It's time to be Brave ®

Just get chrome

current release is the last release. it's on esr and getting security updates. that's it.

Vivaldi.
Fixed that for you.

So what's good for android if I cant use memefox?

kys samefag

Someone archive all the AMO addons

Imagine needing any addons that havent already been ported to FF57.

Imagine boycotting Mozilla instead of lazy addon developers

Water and moon were forks with x64 and hardware acceleration support shoehorned on.

Niw that both said features are a part of baseline FF those forks are redundant

I hope some make backup. kudos
>Waterfox
64bit firefox is a thing.

>my addons is better for you
ZTE botnet and javascript faggotry

>rip water and pale fags
why?

cringe

Pic related.

ok, which userscript managers can I choose from?

No, Chrome is the windows 10 of Firefox.
>has a worse UI
>has non-optional telemetry
>can't block ads and tracking scripts as well as Firefox

Did you even read the OP?
Yeah, if anthing, this pretty much seals the deal on Water and Pale Moon having a pretty guaranteed niche in the market.

Well, Firefox 57 follows the path of Chrome.

github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/1676

Literally all those things you and others are complaining about not being there, will be eventually added. Either as ad-dons or as features build in the browser.

>64bit firefox is a thing.
Yeah but waterfox also kills all the mozilla telemetry and plans to keep all the extensions post 57

THANK YOU BASED MOZILLA

NO MORE SHITTY ADD-ONS/EXTENSIONS TO SLOW DOWN FIREFOX ANYMORE

I'm sure a lot of things will be included eventually. Why should I use Brave *right now*?

No, it is not. You don't need a browser that injects its own fucking ads.

>NO MORE ADD-ONS/EXTENSIONS
then it's hardly different from the other browsers

Doesn't feel like you need to boycott Mozilla as such. Just switch to a FF fork.

Mozilla's decision is unpleasant in various use-cases, but not completely unjustifiable - and they did give warning.

>Yeah but waterfox also kills all the mozilla telemetry
Which is already mostly turned off by default and can be completely turned off in 30 seconds. I don't need a meme fork for that.
>and plans to keep all the extensions post 57
I hope he enjoys being the sole maintainer of XUL.

So most of my add-ons will stop working soon? That sucks.

It will still have extensions, just only those written against a newer API.

developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/What_are_WebExtensions

The old API WERE actually very horrid, but I get if you lament loosing functionality, I do too.

You'll be largely fine if these are all you used.

There are alternatives that work on Webextensions. Violentmonkey and uBlock Origin for example.

The latter is better than ABP anyhow.

Oh well, I still use Windows 7(next to Lunix), I'll just pick a fork and go on as long as it works.

thats real nice

>Furfag

Only soulless ones hate furry!

Yes, I even said to mine wife don't shave legs

this is what i think of your gross 3dpd furry SHIT

...

>Only addons that look like they'll still work after 57 are uBlock and uMatrix.

So what do I use instead of these others now then?

not even furry fuck off

https everywhere has had a beta webextensions version for a while now

I'm not crazy tech savvy when it comes to browsers, but the newer firefox hasn't been too bad for me. Especially the developer ediiton, but its sad to see some of those good legacy addons go.

>Niw that both said features are a part of baseline FF those forks are redundant
Not unless Mozilla also removes all the stupid shit they've added to Firefox lately.

>LIKELY HIDDEN
not deleted in any way, so stop spreading FUD pussy

Sorry im autistic, where does it say they'll be hidden?

Use jdownloader and OpenWith

Not him, but I use dta to get Nicovideos
I tried Jdownloader briefly, but ever since Nico changed something internally, Jdownloader always returned the low quality version of the video.

im still running ff28

iiiiridiummmm

This is too fast. They gave half a year for developers to migrate to WebExtensions (including having to suggest and design new APIs for it in order to accomplish that), and half a year after that all legacy addons will be removed and become unsupported by any browser version they distribute.
They should have announced this and gave a year or two for developers to migrate before making it mandatory in the release channel, then release one last ESR right before the switch.

What prompted them to rush things like this? Has development reached a point where every new release would break every XUL extension? Were they too tempted with the performance increase achieved by dropping XUL extensions as it can be seen in FF57 and wanted it out of the door asap?

Can waterfox be ran from the framebuffer?

I'm glad they are killing off all memeforks, at least now people won't be able to tell they are running firefox when shit breaks due to furry (((((((((((devs)))))))))) incompetence

Let's play where Firefox went wrong

Enough of your ironic shitposting

What a stupid chart. They should have used the ESR releases to start columns

It's like they're intentionally trying to make Firefox shit.

It was always shit until recently. Nightly is great.

Fuck me. I still have bunch of legacy addons I don't want to abandon. I guess I have to sidegrade to ESR once 57 is released.

It#s like they want to pretend that good extensions never even existed

>he still isn't on ublock origin
????
