Sometimes you don't have a mouse with a middle button. These are sad times.

My middle mouse button isnt working for the last 5 years, so yes I use this every day

When is that ever the case? Even if I'm using a trackpad I can do a three-finger tap for MMB.

Doesn't use Ctrl+W
It's like you don't wanna save time

I do. I'm used to closing things with X and see no point in relearning just for a browser.

^w, faggot

>Why isn't there an option to hide them?
Good browsers do have that option.

Ctrl+W is only quick if it's the current tab. If you want to close any other tab besides the ones immediately next to it, it's going to be faster to middle click the tab than click and Ctrl+W

I use Ctrl+W,Tab and the numeric line simultaneously. I only like scrolling with the mouse desu.

>using the mouse at all

>Why isn't there an option to hide them?
Because the Chrome developers are a bunch of fucking faggots and closed the request ticket even though it had a lot of support with answers like "don't want to add too many options".

MMB is quicker and more of a reflex in my case, but I try to force myself into using the close button, because I want to limit the wear of the MMB (and the mouse itself) over time.

>and the numeric line
What?

>browsing modern internets without the mouse
Good luck.

Is there any way to enable autoscrolling in Chrome on Linux?

I never knew you could use the middle mouse button.

The numeric row. Sorry wasn't thinking

I noticed that feature, but I never use it, it doesn't feel intuitive.

it's not a real MMB... When microsoft spies on yo they will make fun of you with your faux middle mouse button.

I meant when opening / closing tabs

What do you use that for?

Pressing Ctrl+1 takes you to the first tab from the left. Ctrl+2 the second and so on. I don't use more than 7 tabs at once mostly so I don't know how far that goes. But it works pretty well with Ctrl+Tab

Why would I ever use my middle mouse button if I had a better option right there.

How is a tiny little x better than the whole damned tab?

>using mouse instead of keyboard shortcut
wew, when did Sup Forums become a normie board?

The X is so small yet I somehow manage to accidentally click on it so often when I'm just trying to switch tabs

vivaldi lets you hide them.

How do people use computers without shortcuts? How few tabs do you have opened? As someone with 50+ tabs opened at all times I think Id kill myself of ctrl+tab and ctrl+w werent a thing.

Safari doesn't have this problem.

what? I just Ctrl+w

>not using keyboard commands
Did you just start using computers yesterday or something?

I just use CTR w mate
Why is the mouse even necessary save for hauling?

>not using mouse gestures
are you stuck in the stone age of computing or something?

>using a mouse

>not having google-thought-probes implanted and mind-controlling your tabs
waht is this 1995

>using mouse
literally why

>not using a vim like extension to manipulate your browser

I just press x. U mad?

>using a mouse
brainlets everywhere

it's called having a laptop

How is a tiny shitty middle mouse button better than a whole damn real mouse button?

I don't know about you but it's just as easy to press middle click as it is right click for me.

>using a toy browser
>Why can't I customize things?

I finally dropped chrom(ium) when they decided to drop backspace to go back. I guess a checkbox was too much for them.
But FF Nightly is so comfy that I really regret not doing it earlier.
