FUCK
you have to get experience in college with internships. if you got no job offer from the place you did your internship, forget it. you are unemployable.
wrong subreddit, btw
If you don't know anyone, of course the world closes it's doors to you.
The tech industry is incredibly nepotistic, everywhere you go.
Who are you? Fucking nobody.
Get some fucking friends, and if you can't manage that, just kys yourself because it's never going to get any better.
You fucking serious op? Do you not know what self learning is? Go learn stuff on your own
>go to
I hope you stay unemployed.
>Do you not know what self learning is? Go learn stuff on your own
LMAO, HR people don't give a fart about your self-taught stuff. They want verifiable experience in the industry and nothing else.
>1. Have great educational background
>2. Have some work experience
>3. Easily find great jobs.
Feels good m9
show them your github :^)
Do open source.
Go to your local meetups.
Volunteer to help for tech conferences.
You'll meet people, get experience.
What about going to school instead?
>throw money at school to study
>Finish degree after 6 years
>Nobody wants to hire me because i don't have work experience
Ops, just got myself into debt and wasted 6 years of my life
autism speaks
It wasn't wasted if you watched anime.
That's what certificates are for.
>Kys yourself
So he can RIP in peace right?
Die pleb.
Jesus Tapdancing Christ.
You think you’re the first dude this has happened to? People have been whining about this since there were jobs. The worst part is you have an extraordinary advantage but seem to have figured it out (maybe that’s the problem):
Open Source Projects
GitHub
For fuck’s sake, you should be banging out code, writing documentation and tests if you do something else, submitting patches to existing projects, and creating your own in a public repository.
Et Voila: now you have experience.
How old are you even, I was getting jobs as a 21 year old community college(europe) mechanic with 0 experience and 0 skill. I was god awful as mechanic and was working on aircraft for >25k EU starting.
Fuck, are you even trying? just talk yourself into some place and find some old fart who is bored as fuck at the job and get him to teach you all the ins and outs.
First years of work are the best, you get paid to walk around and learn as much as possible and you get to ask everyone because you're the new guy
Be a prostitute. No experience is loved there.
You're not getting the job because of no experience, you're not getting the job because you're an autistic sperg. No job is going to go 'oh shit this is the absolute best person of the job, but fuck, he only has 1 year experience not 2'
not true... self taught digital marketing and am a senior manager now in two years. this is two years of only experience i have. didnt even finish high school but my portfolio is that good and results speak for themself.
Only people who did internship can get high paying jobs out of college. If you didn't do internship you will need to apply to garbage-tier jobs and go up from there.
You get experience by going to college/uni and doing an internship. If you didn't go to college, or went without a career path in mind so you just cherry picked courses until you met the requirements for a degree, or went to a college without any sort of intern/career placement program, then you're an idiot and deserve to be unemployed because chances are you'd fuck up something fierce if someone did hire you because you have no practical experience and all of your skills and knowledge are just what you felt like learning, rather than learning based around a specific career.
>doing an internship
>working for minimal wage for few weeks
>it will give you experience i promise you, my goyim
Even OSS or a very own startup is better idea.
Bullshit.
I ran out of school money. I was a waiter down the street from a huge software company. I spent all my tip money on books and studied my balls off. I new a couple people there and bugged and hustled until I got an interview. Nailed it.
18 months later I was a dev guy. The only thing software outfits give a shit about is your ability to produce.
Their hiring garbage men in my city at $16/hr. Eventually you can get a garbage truck and make $120k 29th your own route. Not even kidding. because so many memesters went into CS and nursing regular jobs are paying quite a bit.
I'm thinking about being a garbage man and saving up money to learn how to weld. I'm a self taught programmer as well. I just got turned down for a job because I missed a question on some bullshit multiple choice test.
Fuck it. I'll pick up the trash and go laughing all the way to the bank.
Not to shit on your theory, but trash handlers have always made a good salary. Not because of some shortage caused by programmers and nurses, but because of a shortage of people who want to handle trash.
The Rockefeller my man.
just volunteer. I volunteered for 2 years inside a hospital before I got my first job at Home Depot
just marry an old wealthy woman. She will repay your student loans, but you might have to give her some dick
Why would you go to school for 6 years (already know that you just fucked around and watched anime all-day) and not have any notable projects from classes or projects you did yourself? Not even a single internship? You deserve to drown in debt.
If anyone wants to work in Houston I will unironically hook you up. No pajeets though.
The internship I got for the summer paid me enough hourly to equate to around 52k a year and that was without working at all before and now I got a full time offer for 75k a year from them with good benefits (I'm from GA). Don't get internships in California or New York City because they are there to exploit University students
>tfw job
>tfw experience
>tfw work in a female dominated workspace (economics) and still manage to not get molested
this sucks
Good for you. Here in East Europe they would expect me to work for peanuts.
>female dominated workspace
The most annoying shit.
I did the ol' internship -> job offer combo this summer. Career fairs nigga. Go to them.
i can travel on a tourist visa. how much do you pay and what's the job?
Damn. Why does Europe suck?
DO NOT do open source ESPECIALLY if you can't find a job. If they can just steal the code you write then why would they hire you?
all the non-cucks moved to USA, now they invite muslim RAPE HORDES into their homes
Hitler and the commies.
I say apply anyway. They could offer on site training.
I don't have too many details.
My boss just told me to "use my network" to find someone who's fresh out of college like me, but of course I am an autismo and have no friends.
The job is mobile development, probably in Swift. We will get training on the job, the important thing you aren't a codemonkey.
I dunno how much he would pay the guy I bring in, but I make $70k personally.
>tfw living in one of the cheapest EU countries for big companies to bring in IT rnd and maintenance projects
>tfw 23 years old. 3,5 years of IT experience.
>no degree, dropped uni after 4 months of being depressed because of being forced to study
>not really intelligent
>already own a car, house, $50,000 savings. No debs whatsoever
>thinking of making pilot's license soon
>>tfw living in one of the cheapest EU countries for big companies to bring in IT rnd and maintenance projects
Is it romania?
Don't be a sperg in your next life :^)
They mostly put dumb requirements to filter out the losers who are dumb druggies who give up easily
relax user. The answer is :"ask for less money"
I'm not joking - that is >it
is it slovakia môj brat?
Poland
never met any Słowak, but I've heard they're cool.
I live Midwest but would move
Hire me from ohio bro, my coding experience is small though
>I'm thinking about being a garbage man and saving up money to learn how to weld.
Study the fuck out of welding and if you don't already have excellent near vision and hand/eye coordination, look into becoming an industrial electrician or mechatronic/controls tech instead. Neither of those jobs break down your body unless you do stupid shit.
Welding is large fun and an asset to most trades, but the good welding money is on the road or at specialty pipe jobs like power plants.
t. lifelong mechanic, technician and did several years as a workforce trainer.
Best quick easy profitable option? Join the Air Force (NOT the fucking Army, just no) if you can, knock out a comfy career and retire then do what the fuck you want. I did and do.
Fuck off newfag
I couldn't get a tech job because while I have a B.Sc I have no connections or experience. So I just live on welfare now.
that's europe, shit doesnt work like that in the us
desu people who are often better than those who just have an education
Should've done an internship. I got hired after graduation by a company I interned with during my degree. Now I can move pretty much anywhere I like within my industry.
>I knew a couple people there
>The only thing software outfits give a shit about is your ability to produce
Sure thing user
sup bro i'm graduating with a chem.e degree in december and want to move to houston. send me an email at nequalsnp at cock.li if you're legit
>make up work experience on resume
>no one checks
>you have finished 2.
>goto 1.
Houston is full of niggers. Bad idea
>not lying in your resume
The economy is booming senpai, get out there
Apply anyway. Bullshit if you have to.
I know the feeling it's tough even for me years later after college. College really does a bad job at actually giving you real experience now. Then ontop of that lots of jobs refuse to bother training.
Internships would be nice but for one there's not enough of them for most and the only ones that get those are usually really high GPA students. Also would be nice if they took alumni students too.
>tfw 3.4 gpa
>tfw interview question for internship was FizzBuzz
>tfw they hired me after college
