Dual screen smartphone
For what purpose?
Shits and giggles
i like this,
you get a foldable 7" tablet with a 5.2" form factor
I wonder if designs like this would end up cutting into the sales of lower end laptops in addition to tablets. Especially if the supposed Samsung Galaxy X that uses a single continuous screen actually happens.
there's two batteries inside?
someone had to do it
I like the idea
I can definitely see myself getting a later version of something like this, once they've worked most of the kinks out.
If they ever get flexible screens working right so they can remove the middle bezel you could have a reasonably sized one-hand usable smartphone and a giant media consumption phablet in one
for apple to copy it and call it innovative, of cours
Hi.
I know, I just copied that comment which I've seen 15 seconds before posting
Nothing new here
just came here to post that
It's nice and a good idea, but until Samsung/ Apple/ maaaaybe LG or Google itself put it out first, than Aple copy it and make it "famous", we wont see stuff like that. Although, I'm thinking the foldable screen will be next big stuff.
super thin foldable (flexible) screens that is, like pic related
only 1. 3180 i think. It won't last a full day if you're using both screens the entire time but it's 2 lcd 1080p displays so maybe it'll get you to 3pm.
honestly this is something I may consider buying. I have a note 4 for the stylus and splitscreen. If this has the capability of splitting one screen in half with the android split screen but doing it on both screens for a total of 4 apps then it's perfect for learning stuff anywhere.
Thats Lenovo's prototype for a tablet to fold into a smart phone. They also had one that you could wrap around your wrist.
That might actually be cool for multi-window mode like in Nougat except that the battery life would be abysmal. Isn't its' battery barely larger than 3000 mAh?
3180mah. So yeah battery life is probably abysmal.
Has 3 modes for the screen, dual, extended and mirror.
wow, that's absolutely retarded
Would be cool(er) if:
The hinge folded both ways or at least the other way round like a book, with the interior 'spine' bezel as a thin as is possible in 2017 and maybe a selfie camera/other sensor inside too. Have a low power monochrome led strip like clamshells used to on the outside for notifications/caller id and a speaker + mic along with some sort of buttons enabling you to answer/reject calls without having to open the phone. Have the proper camera on the reverse or the front.
The phone could then be used in laptop format with the lower screen taken up by the keyboard (in a similar fashion to that lenovo yoga book convertible from last year).
This doesn't exist yet but I'm certain Samsung will do this with the Galaxy X range before the decade is up and I'd buy it in an instant if it did.
Who would benifit from this? Lazy people?
>tfw too much effort to swipe my fingers
To achieve perfect aesthetics.
Westworld had a cool version of this.
THE FUTURE IS NOW
Why doesn't anyone just make a 4:3 smartphone
fuck 16:9/18:9
blackberry passport with 4:3 would be good
KEYone's probably the closest you're going to get, it's got a 3:2 display.
You can read e-books on it in a proper way and emulate DS games in a proper way.
They must be supermen to read that tiny ass font.
Too bad it's so laggy
RIP battery life, people already bitch and moan about shitty SoT and Samesong has your phone default to a lower resolution to save you like 10 mins of battery. If we make the same size batteries power double the real estate you'll see people amazed at 1.5 hours SoT and call that "good battery life"
Hyped as fuck.
Samsung will probably do it better though. I don't think it'll ever fully replace the classic format, but what that user said is true
I initially found this interesting, and I do think that anything that actually bothers to innovate on the boring as fuck slab design is good, but..
>The hinge only goes 180 degrees, so you can't "close" the smartphone such that both screens are protected.
This is a massive missed opportunity. I'd have considered buying something like this just for
Also they've not included any mention of price.
Holy shit...something not a total and complete copy of every other thing on the market.
For the first time in a while I'm actually semi excited to see where something goes.
