When will SSD price finally drop?
When will SSD price finally drop?
when new tech makes SSD look like a snail
Tomorrow, screen-cap this.
Now? It's been dropping for years.
They are half of what they costed 2 yeats ago, you didnt notice?
not really
I got a better deal on an ssd 3 years ago than what you can get right now.
500gb evo sold for twice what it does now 2 yeats ago
What? SSD prices are OK right now.
I have two SSD's, a Samsung EVO pro 256gb, and a Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240GB, they came with a gay men laptop I bought last week, I have no interest for drives below 500GB desu, are these worth anything? they are both under 7TB lifetime writes.
they've been rising in price for the past year you dumb newfag cunts.
yeah, except it didn't. it's maybe 10 bux cheaper now compared to then.
I bought an 840 evo 750gb for about $330 two years ago. You can buy a 1TB 850 for slightly less than that now.

>Next year’s bit supply therefore is forecast to grow significantly by an annual rate of 42.9%.
>As for the NAND Flash demand during 2018, the conventional seasonal effect in the next first quarter will cause shipments of end devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets and PCs) to drop sharply from the fourth quarter of 2017. As result, the NAND Flash market will temporarily swing from undersupply to oversupply. Nonetheless, the overall market trend for the whole 2018 is toward a stable equilibrium of supply and demand.
Expect SSD to drop in prices in 2018 due to oversupply.
Cool. I wanted to order 2x 1 TB SSDs but now I guess I'll wait.
Your own fault for buying outdated and overpriced drives. You could've bought a 1TB 850 for the same price even two years ago.

>when will placebo price drop
m8...
I heard Toshiba is making high capacity SSD's cheap with some new technology that prevents them from aging as fast, seems like a move to capitalise on the semiconductor manufacturers like Samsung in kahoots with other companies
Could I say Toshiba is /ourcorp/?
Not only Toshiba told their memory business to chinks, but QLC is only good for WORM applications.
only buy ssds under 500gb and stick to harddrives, they're going up to 14 tb soon
They seem to be ok at the moment. Bought a WD 500gb for £130, and that's what a 120gb Corsair one cost back in 2011.
>Tfw got the 525GB MX300 for 100 bucks at black Friday
I won't be needing another SSD any time soon
Why not buy 2 TB SSDs and 14 TB HDDs?
I remember 64 GB SSDs being over $100 a few years ago and people thought it was a good deal. Now you can get it for less than $50.
Put it on ebay. Someone will buy it if it's cheap.
A 525gb mx300 is $200 AUD. I'd say that's pretty good honestly. I question the reliability of crucials drives though
Never
I am embracing my diskular devices.
Crucial are quite good when it comes to reliability. When someone wants to buy SSDs, I usually recommend Samsung, Crucial, Intel and A-Data. The other manufacturers are shit. Especially Mushkin and OCZ.
I wish plextor didn't fade into obscurity. Why adata? Don't Intel have the most reliable drives?
Bullshit, I bought 2 500GB Samsung Evos Christmas of 2015 for $125 each. They're not half price
They are dropping for constantly.
Nope. I buy small to medium sized SSDs frequently and they have been going down steadily. Drives that where 60€ half a year ago are 50€ now. Drives that where 100€ a year ago, are 70€ now.
If you can afford it, why not store all your shit on a SSD? No need to worry about bit rot.
Really?
Why do you need an ssd with more than 32GiB of storage capacity?
There is no benefit with storing archival data in an ssd instead of hdd
Last 60gb SSD I bought was a $27 GOLDENFIR, before that was a crucial mx200 240gb in 2015 for $95.
You don't need more than 60gb for an OS drive and you don't need more than 240gb for games. Stop hoarding old game installs you don't play anymore or keeping porn on your ssd.
last one i bought cost about a hundred bucks, i have them in every machine i own
>32 Gb
Nigga come on, these things gets filed real fast. Not to mention you need to leave 15% blank for optimal performance. I'm looking to buy 500GB ssd. Right now it's $160. I want the price to drop to $100!!
when the cartel stop fucking around trying to increase the prices.
I envy american prices. $229 for a 500gb 850 evo here
The 32GB spcc I bought years ago is still going strong with over 10GB free.
There really is no need for more storage unless you are a gaymer or winbaby
Better question: When will you get off your lazy fat ass and stop being a poorfag?
>hurr durr the sea levels dropped one time, so that means there is no sea level rising trend
that is what you sound like
When the NAND jews stop jewing us.
>bought a 520GB Crucial MX300 for around €85 last year in an amazon flash sale even though I didn't need it
>mfw it's almost twice as expensive now
They have been going up in the first world, he is right
Never buy brand. Always buy model.
Their BX/MX200 is trash. Their MX300 is okay-tier.
Last year at this time they were almost 50% cheaper.
Mx200 is MLC and mx300 is TLC, what are you talking about
There probably are anons, especially on Sup Forums, who unironically believe your example.
>installs battlefield 1 gta v and shadow of war
>tries to download a picture
>not enough space
>150$ for 500G
Yeah, 150 USD would have been like 200G
tomorrow.
next question
>You don't need more than 60gb for an OS drive and you don't need more than 240gb for games.
>There's nothing else you could possibly store on a computer
>mom, I'm an investor!
pick one
When the standard moves on to light based storage in semen powered crystals that you stick in your butt to be accessed from your Anal-izer(tm) semen crystal NAS device.
> you don't need more than 240gb for game
I do. I clean them up but I need them gigs.
