so is this the final distro that you'll ever need?

No, slackware
Void is html5 autistic hipster,s material design faggotry. Topp-tiers

sell me on void op

Downside is it's developed by spics.

Probably. No systemd, great package manager, uses libressl. I'm still learning runit, and it's my first time using alsa standalone, so I've had some rough times, but in general it's a great distro.

no SystemD

package manager is good

no bloat

easy install

Only bad thing is the wiki is kind of lacking.

vs gentoo sell me

I'm gonna be honest with you. I have never used gentoo. Not because I couldn't, but I see no reason to. I found void and I'm happy with it.

not spending 3 hours recompiling X once a week.

X only takes like a minute to compile.

honestly haven't used it in years. BSD is superior anyway.

i love void. I just wish i could get bitwig studio running on it.

>rolling release
should answer your question

I used void a year or so ago, I didn't quite see a reason to stick with it.

>no SystemD
I like systemd
>package manager is good
So is fedoras, so is arches, so is gentoos
>no bloat
Same with arch, slackware, gentoo, puppy.. etc.
>easy install
Every distro is easy to install
>Only bad thing is the wiki is kind of lacking.
This is true, trying to figure out how to mess with init scripts and the package manager can be a bit daunting for someone who's never used it before.

you can compile shit if you really want to with xbps-src

vs OpenBSD sell me

Be careful around systemd, you might get savaged.

none of these are necessarily good things or are insubstantial babble with no substance.

enjoy your rootkit

If you use gentoo, no reason to use void.

That reminds me of a gay dinosaur book I saw on there a few months ago. I laughed for half an hour at the description. I'll see if I can find it again.

I can't get makemkv or spek to build on it.

sell me on slackware

Of course not, anything that isn't used by majority of the user base like ubuntu will have shit support both code wise and user tech support wise and will therefore never raise from trash

Either NixOS or GuixSD would be my final distro. Playing with Guix ATM and liking it. I think I'll use both in future.

I like it a lot. Easy to use, easy install, lots of packages. I'm trying nixos now because it seems interesting, but I'm having lots of issues. I'll be back on void soon I think.

>Only bad thing is the wiki is kind of lacking.
And a severe lack of packages
Having to compile many things from source can be quite annoying

Finally, a distro just like me!

Building makemkv is easy, there's a thread on the void Forums that contains a patch so it builds with libressl and a template with all dependencies.

Contributing new packages is easy though
