old

This is the sound of millions of Indians crying.

So Sup Forums, are the only phones with headphone jacks and acceptable displays Samsung this year?

HTC U11 sounds great, but it's lacking that sweet sweet 3.5mm jack

Why Indians?

Can curry niggers even afford a pixel?

Just installed AnySoftKeyboard and the popuo letters appear on top of the keyboard.
Is there a way to disable this or to fix it?

What's the diffrence between Verizon and Google versions of the Pixel? Considering buying one a the Verizon store before mine ships.

Probably bloat

Don't buy Verizon phones if you can avoid it, they're complete shitters on software updates.

Your bootloader is permanently locked and your OS updates will come way slower.

Don't do it man.
I'm tempted myself, but it's just not worth it.

Is the Moto G Plus 5th Gen a solid upgrade from a Nexus 5?

How long until I can buy a $300-400 phone with a Snapdragon 845 or equivalent?

Not for a long time, unless you buy chinkshit

I do

Does anyone have first hand opinions about the V30?

Yes.

That's a big phone.

That's not supposed to happen at all...

Just copped! Hopefully, you've steered me right, especially since I lose signal with the GPS pretty often now, making it near unusable.

I just did this exact thing. Only had it for a few hours now, but I think I made a great choice.

It's great, don't worry. the G5S+is alright too, but not worth the extra $. Moto X4 as well.

Thoughts on Redmi Note 5?

Hello, I'm an user interested in purchasing a cellular telephone. Looking for the best option. I'm prioritizing something cheap (deals with ISP/other companies are counted) and high battery life. Because I'm a fa/g/got I only know about the following phones:
>iPhone
>Android
>Nokia
>Windows Phone
>Pixel (Google)
Please name ones I'm missing if you want.

Redmi is such a shit half translation half transliteration, it would be better as "red rice" (红米)

based on your current level of knowledge, i suggest the new iphone.

Does the Moto X4 fingerprint sensor have the same navigation options as the G5/s Plus?

But it's expensive and has shit battery life. Because poorfaggotry and extended amount of time as a NEET I have never actually bought a phone for myself.

Case/Screen protector or both?

Personally have a S view case on the s8 is for tier, I don't have to open my case to answer phone calls or switch songs. I also like that the always on display tells me the time with out actually opening the case. The price might put some people off though but I think the functionality justifies the cost.

Neither.

>samsung has the best hardware but the worst software
WHY

Software aint even that bad desu. You'll only be upset really if you NEED root for whatever autistic reason you think you need it for.

Assuming you don't need root though, the current samsung flagships are by far the best phones at the best price in 2017.

Both

Post your phone and a photo taken with your phone.

Guys, I fucked up. I financed a galaxy s7 through at&t, realized the resulting bill was fucking ridiculous, and paid off the phone and unlocked it. Bought a sim card from ting and I get texts and decent phone coverage but no 4g. After fucking with apn settings all day and resetting my phone, I called costumer support and apparently my phone isn't supported through ting. Or my apn settings are still off, which I highly doubt. It seems like at&t took away a bunch of settings menus or something, because there are basically no settings for mobile data other than turning it on or off.

Is there something I'm still missing, or should I find a different carrier? Any recommendations? U.S. Mobile seems decent, but I don't want to go through activation bullshit all over again if the phone isn't compatible. I ran my phone through frequencycheck and it says it should work with ting btw

No way. I have one and it's horrible in dark

Try a different rom. Or like they said, it's not supported.

I have metropcs simcard in unlocked verizon phone. Everything works but I'm unable to send messages. I confirmed and it's the problem because it's a stupid verizon phone

Google Pixel 1 XL

S8, I'm an autist so I don't really take pictures though.

Yep. Thought it wasnt dark quite yet, the sun was still setting.

>Pixel
>Blue Moon
Into the trash you go.

I'm considering buying a huawei p9 since I found one for around $340 or less, are there any better phones at the same price spec wise?

I've also considered the p10 but its price is pretty high for being a little upgrade over the p9 and the one plus 5 being better at the same price

Dont be upset that my camera is still to this day better than your S8's

Where is this gay place you live

Greetings John!

Is it possible to turn off this HDR effect with the Pixel? Dont get me wrong its a great picture but its almost too saturated.

Comfy New England
Yeah you can turn it off. Theres 3 settings. Off, Auto HDR and HDR On.

Nope

>Sky noisy af
>Vignette of blur
>Literal vignette
Why is this photo so bad?
My pixel takes far better photos, are you up to date software wise?

Just got my Xiaomi Mi5s
Pretty good so far

Nvm, it was just that photo.
Looks way better, still a bit noisy though.

>Theres 3 settings. Off, Auto HDR and HDR On.
sweet thanks

How many of you guys flash custom ROMs?

Is OCing ever worth it? The only time it had any practical use for me was when I had to OC my powerVR on the S4 to run ArmA tactics from unplayable when something goes transparent to full fps, was kind of weird seeing how even only 100mhz extra was enough to do it, but I guess low core count means every little increase matters.

faggot

I flash AOSP based ROM (Lineage when possible) on any device with intrusive manufacturer UI. HTC and Sony's close enough to stock that I can just use Nova Launcher and call it a day, the rest has to go.

OCing, I haven't had to do that since the Nexus One/Desire days. But that's more for helping the phone keep up with newer Android version. 1.6 to 2.1/2.2/2.3 was a big leap. 2.3 to 4.0 to 4.2.2 was another big leap in usability.

G5+

It it certainly crap in low light like everyone says, but I have a DSLR for actual photos, so it's OK.

I'll give a (You) to anyone that can guess what's under the banana

I've enjoyed mine. Only things I don't like are how expensive it was and the display is a bit ass in low light unless you bump brightness high. I hate that because I'm a cave troll and live in the dark so my eyes cry when there's bright lights.

Other than that it's slick and feels right. I used 2 of my decent headphones on it and they sounded great without a preamp. I have a pair of AKG M220 and ATH A700 and they both did well. I doubt I'd ever wear them in public, but knowing they can do cans just fine is pretty cool.

Oh, forgot some other stuff. The skin LG has is fine, launchers work well on it and fixed anything I disliked and the camera has been a load of fun to play with. I feel like a douche filming and taking pictures all the time but it just captures shit well enough that it makes you want to take pictures.

Battery life is great. Not as killer as my OP3 but still damn good. I mainly watch videos, stream video on twitch and play emulators on my phone and my battery lasts about 13 hours on 60% brightness. I guess I got one of the good displays as even on lower settings I haven't gotten the uneven coloring, it's just some colors are darker or more blown out than others. If they release more color display options I think it'd be an easy fix.

Good midramged phones on Metro?

October patch where are you?

blackberry doesnt have this problem :^)

KEYone?

Canacuck here, would like to buy a new phone outright in January, will prob be with public mobile as they seem to have big deals and fuck canada. maybe fido if i manage to use my parents plans as leverage but i dont have much hope

budget is anything up to $500 usd (i dont mind buying off states i can easily pick it up)

would like (in order of importance):
last for 3-4 years
good battery
decent camera (if terrible ill just buy a point and shoot and be autistic i guess)
micro sd
rootable (not that big of a deal i just hate ads)

so far what interests me are lg g6 (500usd), moto g5plus(270usd), op5(bit out of budget), s8(if it gets cheaper)

Referb Nexus 6 64gb for $150.
Yay or nay?

Nexus 6

...

Looking for a phone in the $200-300 range that:

• Recently came out
• Will last 2-3 years
• Respectable battery life
• Don't care about camera, microSD, etc.

Galaxy S6

Galaxy S3

Has there been any news on any 2k18 phones? Looking to get a new phone in the new year price is no issue but dunno if I should bite the bullet on maybe getting an S9+ because galaxy phones usually release fairly early on in the year

>unironically buying samshit

Current rumor is the S9 and S9+ will get a dual camera setup like the Note8 but with a newer camera sensor.

Rumors are also saying they probably wont have the under screen finger print reader until summer for the Note9 release, probably wont be on the S9/S9+.

6p

Maybe an OP5 in a few months, the 5+ is coming out so the 5 is bound to get cheaper.

The Redmi Note 5 comes out around January/February next year, it could be a good option if the Snapdragon 626/Snapdragon 630 rumor + bezel-less rumor is on point. Camera is usually mediocre on those models, but on the Note 3/Note 4 at least Pixel's camera app + Lineage produce significantly better result than the stock camera app on MIUI.

My experience with the Note 3:
>Last for 3-4 years
I stuck it in a cheapo armor case and it survived just about everything. Getting thrown at a wall full strength only dented the sim tray and cracked the screen. Most phone these days will last though if you're careful with it and stick it in a good case

>Good battery
I was getting at least 10 hours SoT at ~70% backlight for the first year, under CM13. The Note 4 has a bigger battery and a more efficient SoC, so it should be even better. Note 5 should follow the same trend if it sticks with the 625/626/630 line with 8x A53 instead of 2x A72 + 4x A53 like in the 650. If it goes instead with the 636/660 line, you'll get the Kryo core like with the 820/835 line so performance will be better, and its not like battery will be much worse.

>Decent camera
Stock camera is below average. Stock camera under AOSP based custom ROM (CM/Lineage/etc..) is absolutely garbage. Pixel's camera with HDR significantly improved the picture quality though, but its not flagship quality by any mean.

>MicroSD
The redmi line still keeps the Hybrid dual SIM tray, unlike their flagship line. Note 5 will likely have it, Note 3/4 has it on the Snapdragon version which you should be buying anyway

>rootable
Easy, large community support. Xiaomi's bootloader unlock service takes a few days to approve your request though. Bootloader autolock after flashing stock ROM, there's no irreversible trip like Knox or Sony's DRM keys.

What are the best flagship phones 2016?

It's better to buy one of those than a midrange right?

Are the Nexus 5X and Moto G5+ comparable? They're the same price in my country.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 or Asus Zenfone 4 Max

Google pixel 1

Is this a good deal

At any price it's still a xiaomi

Struggling to choose between the S8, G6, and the iPhone 8. Which would be better in the long run? Carrier is ATT

You're that cunt from yesterday

does the regular pixel 2 have any problems or are all the fuckups like the screen and buzzing noise XL only?

I recognized your deal, user.

You are a racist pig i want another opinion

The only reason I hate Chinese people is because I speak their language and have lived their for years.

They're fucking animals

wtf is this blur effect?

What enticed you to live there.

My first year of university I wanted to learn Japanese, but I realized there were no Japanese students, so I wouldn't be able to practice. As a Result I decided to switch to Chinese, and everything spiraled out of control after that.

Now I'm stuck getting my PhD in China Studies, having to write about a bunch of savages as if they shit gold.

so close to living the weaboo dream, now you're trapped in the chink nightmare

Chinese girls aren't sweet and cute like japs, they're angry domineering cunts.

The only thing that went well was that I did a lot of my studying in Taiwan, where most of my classmates were jap girls, one of whom I have taken as my waifu.

It is true but then i hate say spics but can still do business with them

>one of whom I have taken as my waifu.
NOOOOO

You're not wrong, I'm just extremely distrustful of them.

Just make the strategy your own, start studying mandarin, and then use the excuse of studying mandarin to go to Taiwan where you will probably be the only guy in a class of jap girls.
Only $1000USD a semester, user!
And the ROC government offers generous scholarships!

If I want to flash my Xiaomi Mi6 that currently has the China ROM with the Global ROM, do I need to use the China fastboot file, or the Global fastboot file?

Im close to my cellphone renewal and this are my options:

Iphone 6
Moto G5 Plus
Galaxy A7 2016

wich one should I chose and why? Thanks.
