Google Chrome eats up tons of memory, I like to keep my 20-30ish tabs open, but having them and a game running is killer sometimes. What browser does Sup Forums use? Which is objectively best?

firefox does the same thing

Maybe have less than 4 tabs open?

Opera, or use a tab killer

Oldfags used to consider opera the best but idk if they moved on because opera is probably worse now

how much RAM do you have?

just buy more ram my dude

>20-30ish
what the fuck why?
six or seven max

>20-30 tabs
What could you possibly need all of those tabs for? Bookmark shit, nigger.

>look at task manager
>firefox using 6GB of RAM
Really glad I didn't listen to all the people that said 16 was too much.

Im a big fan of Safari

Get a better computer. I forgot what it was like to worry about how many tabs i can have up or how many flash plugins are running on sites.

Edge (the new IE) has an option where you can close out all the tabs but it'll store them so that later on you can restore all of them again. Plus it's pretty barebones so it uses almost no memory as is.

...

16GB

I'm lazy and want to look at some stuff sooner rather than later. If I bookmark anything it'll just get lost in the sea of bookmarks I already don't check

Recently switched to chrome from firefox. I loved firefox. It is trash now.

Chrome is the best it gets at the moment.

chrome will randomly have huge spikes in memory usage, it's pretty annoying

It uses as much RAM as it can prioritize at a time you fucking double nigger retards. It performs practically the same with my 2GB RAM laptop and 32GB RAM desktop. So yeah when it can eat up that RAM because nothing else is using it, it will.

I still get fucking huge memory leaks on YT. It'll freeze the video, then when I go to reset the video the entire browser freezes for a good 20 seconds. What is this bullshit

It's hilarious that Google is low-enough to actually manipulate search results to lie about their browser being the best when it's not.

Also, they were rekt by microsoft when it was confirmed that they slowed down visits to other search engines on purpose.

Microsoft does the same thing to chrome when you run it on windows it will purposely drain your battery power faster so that you'll use edge instead

They are all jerks and that's why there is no best browser in 2017.

>I'm too lazy!
Easier to find the bookmarks than to go crawling through all the barely visible tabs. Use bookmark folders, faggot.

>Chrome is the best it gets at the moment.
Use Waterfox

Current version of Firefox is suffering, though version 57 is basically a complete relaunch of the application.
We'll see if it fixes shit.
Either I switch to Chrome or Firefox gets really fucking good in November.

>I'm too retarded to use bookmarks or a plug-ins to save ram
>Why is all my ram gone?

isnt version 57 the one that will brake a lot of addons?

The fuck you on
I leave FF open literally all day long with 10+ tabs and it barely reaches 1gb

And?

It's almost pure poetry

Use opera

Is there a browser that has the same functionality as chrome's omnibar? I have to download janky mods for firefox that do the same thing a lot less elegantly

...

Google Chrome

getting some weird fucking dejavu here

I wish firefox was better because it's the best mobile browser due to adblock

use iridium with the great suspender

install gentoo

Edge. Low memory and you can just put tabs aside.

just use edge

I didn't mean to quote you but you won't have problems with game performance with 64gb if you suspend tabs desu.

Not really because 57 is literally a different application at this point.
The technology is just different so old addons have to be rebuilt from scratch.

WTF happened?
Browsers used to use almost no RAM. Even browsing the same old pages.

>I like to keep my 20-30ish tabs open
Holy crap why?! I normally have 3 tabs opens. What kind of highly advanced internet browsing AI are you?!

>30 tabs

I have 300+ tabs open in Firefox and Chrome right now and my computer is fine.

Applying for jobs will easily net you 100+ tabs at a time. Researching a topic will easily get 40+ at a time.
It's like you niggers have never done work.

>20-30
I only realize how many tabs I have open when the computer starts slowing down (usually 120 tabs or so).

Chrome is still the least hog of a browser I've used, you just have too many extensions installed. What's gonna happen is that you'll install a new browser and say "wow, this is so fast!" and then see it slow to a snails pace again as you start adding your extensions back.

what

is "don't open links as new tabs" doing it the wrong way?

Ublock Origins and my 50 filters + 4chanx only make it faster though

Javascript happened. Enjoy your bitcoin miners working on your "idle" tabs.

Just close your tabs when you're done with them
>b-but I might need them later hurr how do I see browsing history

Why does everyone I know use so many tabs?
I don't use more than like 4 tabs ever, typically 1-3 is all you need. You guys literally probably don't even use any of them except like 1-3 at a time anyways. I bet the others just sit there. Everyone I know has a minimum of ten tabs open at all times are you all mad? If you want to visit a site why not take one of the existing tabs and just do it there instead of making a bunch of new ones and forgetting about the old ones? You can't seriously tell me you need to be multitasking between ten tabs or more, just close all of them except three and when you need to go back to a site just use the same single tab for it. You can visit more than one website on the same tab you know ?

Sorry but I don't have 512MB of RAM I don't need to :)

Or maybe I'm not retarded and am aware that having many tabs open consumes resources.

This is what people actually believe

>I don't use more than like 4 tabs ever, typically 1-3 is all you need.
Do you only post in 1-3 Sup Forums threads at a time?

>20-30ish tabs open
When the fuck would you ever need to have 30 fucking tabs open

I have 622 at the moment. A few months ago I closed a bunch, but before that it was over 1,000.

i've started getting low memory warnings because of chrome even though the most demanding application i've started is TF2

the only times i have more than lets say 4 tabs open is when i do research
on jav porn mostly

I can't stand the idea of having more than five tabs open.

Why not just close your browser and when you reopen it just "restore previous session" or whatever CHromes equivilent is

>conducted by Microsoft
Hmmmmm

How the fuck do you post on Sup Forums with

Which filters are you using and addons to make it faster?

Lol this, i'm sketchy as fuck now about browser miners

just get a tab killer, or close chrome and CTRL+SHIFT+T to reopen all your tabs when you are done gamin

WE Sup Forums NOW BOIS

>moving threads

hello Sup Forums

>30 tabs
It's time to stop masturbating on meth.

>when the mod moves the thread you're posting in to Sup Forums from Sup Forums

Also, I only post in one Sup Forums thread at a time and then go back to the catalog to see if the other threads got replies, or i keep two or three Sup Forums tabs open, otherwise only one

MODS MODS NIGGER-BOBS

Come one, come all to the Sup Forums zoo. Don't get too close!

first time in years ive seen a mod move a thread lol

you aren't in the right threads son

Sup Forums isn't going to touch this thread with a ten poot extension cord
nobody wants to talk to a Sup Forumsirgin

I was bored and set a tried to boot with only 1GB of ram, and I'm using chrome right now with 4 tabs. Everythings working fine so far, no issues.

Moving threads is basically a soft delete, huh

Seems like nobody wants to touch a thread from another board, even if it's related to their board's topic

nobody that wants to touch a thread that opens with "what X does Sup Forums use"

it's like asking what does Sup Forums use

Well it WAS originally posted on Sup Forums

Rekt

there's this great technology that is super recent and advanced. if you enable it, your botnet windows machine will dump all of chromes ram to the harddrive and allow your full screen 3d application to use all of your ram. when the application is closed the memory that was dumped to the harddrive will be loaded back into the ram

it's called pagefile. enable it if you listened to the reddiot memers who told you disable it, increase it if its too small.

>Sup Forums

Nigga you're in Sup Forums.

Thread was moved from Sup Forums

I use Firefox
>objectively best
None, they're all shit. Actually, they would all be fine if the web devs weren't incompetent and made websites bloated piles of shit. Browsers have no choice but to also be bloated themselves.
Chromium browsers are baked into not being able to block ads and tracking content properly so Firefox is really the only good option, paired with uBlock Origin it's an amazing browsing experience. Plus it's not a privacy nightmare as chrome is. If you want to keep using a chromium base, then I'd only suggest Iridium.
