How many computers do you have? What do you use them for?

How many computers do you have? What do you use them for?

I am trying to finally build my own PC, but haven't been able to due to lack of shekels.
So far:
>Personal Laptop:

>i7 6500
>256GB SSD
>1TB HDD
>16GB RAM
>Windows 10

>Work/Secondary Laptop
Thinkpad x131e
>integrated graphics
>i3
>4GB RAM

Work computer is for work, personal computer for everything entertainment-wise, shitposting, programming, etc.
Server is for sharing files amongst devices.

>MAIN PC i5 6600k 4.0Ghz 1.100V,SSD Samsung 850 Pro Evo 240GB,16GB Hyper X fury RAM DDR4 2666Mhz, 1TB Seagate Barracuda, 750GB Hitachi, Sapphire Nitro RX 480 1342Mhz 1.138V 2000Mhz Memory.

>4 Rental PC's A8-7600,8GB RAM DDR3, WD 320GB, Gigabyte R7-240.

At one point I had about 18 working machines, a mix between desktops, and laptops. Shit I would fix for friends, have around the house, etc.

Now like 3.

2 laptops
1 pc
used for anime and stuff

1 laptop
1 desktop
1 smartphone

this

one PC at home for general purpose and one laptop for research lab because professor can't afford to shell out sheckel buying desktop PC to each student.

5 PCs and 2 laptops

My main PC - i7 1080ti blah blah all the important shit for gaymen.
A backup Q9560 PC for fucking about with linux distros.
A backup backup E8400 PC and 2 Pentium 4 machines I don't have the heart to throw out.

A Memepad X230 for comfy bedside shitposting and a pleb tier Macbook Pro (got it for free) lying about that never gets used.

I have a chromebook and like 5 ancient laptops most of which don't work and all of which I don't use. I use my chromebook to browse the web.

Six laptops and four desktops. I play games and do work on the good desktop and the rest are in various states of disassembly/modification.

2 old as fuck servers (circa 2006)
2 old as fuck desktops (same as servers)
1 old as fuck laptop
2011 macbook
a semi-modern desktop(i7-2600k 8gb ram) which I actually use.
a beat up laptop(i7-something 8gb ram) I actually use.

trying to make a usable compute cluster from everything I don't use, sans the macbook.

I have a few raspberry pi's, one which I use for nas and torrent stuff, but those hardly count as computers.

Ryzen 7 1700x + GTX 1080 ti desktop
i7 7700HQ + GTX 1060 laptop
Sony Xperia X phone.

one
dont use it
on my phone 80% of time

(((smart)))phones aren't technology, they're glorified fashion statements.

What the fuck is a rental pc

> i5 750
> GTX 1070

Wat

Got my desktop, 1, server, 2, gateway box, 3, laptop, 4, mini servers, 8, C2D farm, 12, old desktop, 13, ancient P3 server, 14, eMac, 15, dead MBP, 16.
So that's 15 working all up. Damn.

1 desktop
1 smartphone

I use them exclusively for porn and shitposting

I have no computer. After smashing both my thinkpads I have just now smashed desktop in a fit of rage.

Better than getting a GBH or murder charge, but fuck me this is starting to cost some money.

computers I own personally

15" 2015 MBP with Radeon M370X
custom desktop with i7 6700K and 1080Ti
both have 16GB of RAM

server with old core i3 and 8GB of RAM that runs 24/7

>MacBook Air 2014
For writing word documents, basic internet browsing, and quick use. This is the main computer I use, usually.
>t420
General use and as a desktop replacement. I’ll bring it out for portable work but it’s pretty heavy. I use Win10 to write programs and very minimal things because I hate it. Debian for secure work.
>Desktop
Mostly everything else, programming, movies, etc. Win7 and Manjaro. fx8370e, 12gb ram, rx470. Used to play games(mainly csgo) but that’s faggot shit now.
>T23
I have openBSD but it runs like dogshit so I might install plan9 or something, haven’t quite decided yet.

Im surprised that even exists, shit, if you need to rent a PC buy a fuckin raspberry pie. or better yet, a smartphone

Two laptops, two desktops, and a server...which I guess could also count as a desktop. Also a Raspberry Pi.

I own 3 computers.

One Intel NUC from the last generation which I use to program on.

I have a T420 which I use to download things on, then to play movies and stuff on my TV from.

Lastly I have a raspberry pi, which I use with my projector to project a reverse image, continuous loop of SWAP.avi on my white curtains that face towards a street with a busy nightclub lineup, every night. The image is quite clear from the street below, and luckily, I've only had the police called on me one time.

2 desktops:

main: i5 4440, 2x nvidia GTX 1080, 32GB RAM
"portable" (in the pic): just a motherboard, (plus 16GB RAM & 1080 from main desktop when needed)

2 laptops:
i5-7200, 20GB RAM, nvidia GTX 940 (personal)
i7-7700, 32GB RAM, nvidia GTX 1060 (work)

Data scientist, mostly use deep learning hence the overblown GPUs.

That I actually use regularly?

>A Mini-ITX desktop PC, a ThinkPad x250, and throwaway Dell Optiplex 970 as a HTPC.

That I have because I'm a computer hoarder, and they're constantly throwing out computers at work...

>3 Dell Optiplex 760's
>2 HP Elitebook laptops
>A Dell D820 laptop
>An old crusty Dell laptop with a floppy disk drive
>A HP DL380 G5
>A Toshiba z10t
>Atari 800
>Atari XE
>An Amstrad PCW 8256
>A dual slot 1 PC rocking 2x 900MHz Pentium II's and a 2x Woodoo 2 GPUs (in boxes)

There's a free day the dump two weeks from now, and everying bar the Amstrad, the Atari, and the Pentium II will be thrown out.

>ram heat sink

NUC master race

i have had my computer for quite a long time desu. it's a 4.5Ghz haswell i5 running on a 50cm^2, 5cm thick radiator. Still modern computers cannot compete. What should I do?

>PC: 2500K GTX 970 8GB RAM
I have multiseating software setup so my gf can watch her shows or complete work and I can game and do my own thing with a single tower.
I'm also running a Plex server for my other roommate who uses a Roku in the living room. Overwatch/HD Netflix/Plex are all ran simultaneously on a regular basis without issue.
>Jailbroken iPhone 6s iOS 10.1.1
Anything mobile including word processing with a Bluetooth keyboard as well as quality emulation

what sort of images do you project? what image caused the police to see you?

1 Desktop (Mainly used for storage)
>Mini ITX
>i7 5775C
>16GB RAM @1866
>GTX 960 4GB EVGA
>250 GB Samsung EVO
>6 TB Redundant (essentially 12 TBs total)
Used to play games, then I stopped so it's an HTPC/NAS machine now... Also generally used for running my CAD work from school, when I don't do it at school at least, which again is rarely.

1 Laptop
>12" Macbook 2017 256 GB
this one is generally for school, always carry a 1TB WD passport for storage, and also my machine for most photo editing since I'm not at home often.

one beer

Oh boy, do I have a few.
>G4560, 8GB Ram, 256gb ssd,2tb hdd, GTX770 ITX Machine.
This stays in my apartment, have dual screens so its my shitposting machine
>13" retina macbook pro early 2015
This is my main computer, also the one I use daily.
>External disk (4tb 2.5"), iphone 7, surface pro 3
These I have, sp3 doesn't get used much other than for shitting time. Desktop is more of a "server/mainframe" than an actual standalone computer...

Moving on to others I don't have here:
>4770k, 16gb, GTX780 etc etc
This I built back in 2013 for my "gaymen" rig, ended up being the family computer as is after I came to college.
>Asus Chromebook
Backup notebook just in case. Also used this before I got my mac as a daily (bad times).
I also have some parts I need to get rid of, namely my "desktop" last year of A4-7300, TX650M etc basically a shitty device made from parts off craigslist or very very cheap parts.

>Personal Desktop
4Gen i5
16gb RAM
GTX 1070 (Got a good deal)
Samsung 850 Evo
Use it for gayming, type 2 hypervisors, and for general daily use.

>2012R2 Server
i3
8gb RAM
Literally made from free components/stuff I had lying around besides the i3, which was $100.
Use it as a file server, but working on some other projects in downtime

>Laptop
ASUS Transformer
i5
8gb RAM
Not light, not fast, not linuxable (goddamned realtek) easily, but it was free

>Trash Laptop
Literally free

>Various server tasks.

>former mining computer, turned into desktop
primary everything computer
>thinkpad
remote desktop to primary computer from exercise room
>old prebuilt parents were gonna throw out
various networking lab use, currently acting as a pfsense router
>extremely damaged laptop from 2003
sees very rare usage, sometimes for running legacy programs
>old prebuilt from 2001
it has a com port and sometimes i can't figure out why my com/usb adapters are acting nutty, so that's what he's for

4 lap tops
Gaming at desk laptop
Doing shit in bed laptop
Paper weight
Paper weight/drug storage.

2. A 2005 HP Slimline, which has Windows XP and is kept offline. It is ONLY used for encrypted backups of my iPhone. The second is my laptop, which I use for literally everything else.

damn pistol looks like THAT now?

>Thinkpad t440p for GANOO/Linucks hobby and schoolwork and shitposting and programming and everything else it can do like light gaming
>Cubieboard 1GB single core for a small NAS, DHCP and DNS (LAN), Radicale, my website and all that
>Odroid XU3 lite for nothing lol
>Raspberry Pi 3 set up with Retropie, not using rn
>Raspberry Pi zero and couple of the first models and one of the + models also idle and collecting dust
>FX-6300 8GB & GTX 650 "gaming pc" that first needs a better GPU to be usable for modern games again

From oldest 2 newest:
1992 pentium premade from canada, don't know the specs. Haven't booted it in 3 years thought, psu is busted.
1999-2000 pentium III 667 mhz, 3dfx 7.8mb gpu, 10gb hdd, 64mb ram
2002 acer travelmate 251lc, i use it for the lools and programming. Needs new display and planning to put an ssd.
2004 pentium 4 1gb ram, gpu busted, given to me w/o the case and sits on a corner in a box.
2006 my former main rig pentium D 3.4ghz (840 iirc) ati radeon x1900xtx 1gb ram, various hdds, lays in a case waiting for me to move and take it with me.
2007 asus eeepc 701 w/ 2gb ram, 4gb internal storage, repasted recently and upgraded ram, I use it for programming C, mainly data structures and a new project in ncurses
2014 main rig amd kaveri, asrock a88 extreme6+, 8gb ram, various hdds, ssd, no dgpu, serves as dual boot win7 and debian stable, mainly for gaymin old games and fpga development.
2014 lenovo y410p. Really shitty plastic shit build of a 1500$ tier laptop. H/w is good though except for the auo display. I use it as an aio do whatever you want laptop. Gaymin(dota2 poe mainly) and heavy dev staff.

Aside from those, i picked 2 fully working fag staff from a recycle bin at work.
1996 mac laptop, can't remember which one
2002 apple desktop, with the lovely ppc and 3gb ram. Didn't have time to power those up and fix any problems. The laptop needs a power supply, so ubtil I buy my lab tier psu i won't be able to fire it up.

Desktop pc for old games and web browsing, and shitty 2009 netbook for other stuff.

>Smart phone for encryption (android pajeet ROM)

And a HP Proliant dl380 which i got for free

pic is some neat ddr1 i found

Two..

My desktop PC that I built several years ago with a 930@4Ghz 12GB memory 120GB SSD & 1TB WD Black with upgraded GPU's SLI 670's all custom water cooled. Had a lot of good use as a gaming rig and still runs the games I enjoy fine but mostly gets used as a media PC these days and also a heater to keep the edge off the cold in winter.

Then my Dell XPS 13 16GB memory can't remember CPU but whatever it is it's plenty, it was an upgrade after returning my XPS 15 because I cared more for battery life and portability, outside of games the performance difference isn't noticeable as I mostly use it for browsing, mailing and uni work. Fully intend to be running Arch on it instead of windows but as I've got older I've become more content as a 'just works' pleb and can't be arsed with the transition. Although I'm confident I will get round to it eventually.

Three I suppose if we include smartphones which we probably should these days and it's a flagship Android phone. Actually four as I also have a Pi model 3 which I use as a retro gaming console and very portable media streaming device.

i own the two and i have office laptop

>headless gigabyte ga- j1900n running ubuntu server
plex, ftp, torrent, a few docker apps and email server with a domain name. hidden in my parents house.

>i7 6700k with 1080ti

>office laptop 7700hq with 1060
pure programming shit and testing systems

>2011 Z68 2600K PC for Video Production
- No issues, can't believe its still relevant

>2011 Second Hand MBP for shitposting
- Failed logic board, failed Magsafe AC Adapter
- Applel Store replaced both for free

>2015 iPhone 6s
- Failed Touch ID, scratched easy as hell
- Applel Store replaced for free

I'd really like to get a used Surface 3 because its so easy to play all my video formats on the TV with one.
