I game, and my uni course (primary education) requires direct compatibility with MS office.
That and I have a 1600x which isn't recognise by W8

Everytime I've tried Linux I've been frustrated that simple tasks easy in gui become long command strings for nothing but autism speaks.
Install windows XP. It is compatible with Microsoft Office, that's how I remember enduring college back in the days.

This, just did a clean install of windows 7 over xubuntu two days ago because of office compatibility for uni. Forgot how comfy win7 was desu.
The PC I have to use at work has Windows 8, and I wish it had Windows 10 instead.
Because of WSL, virtual desktop, and better window management primarily.

I just use W10 on my desktop cause it does the job. On my laptop I use linux
Install Windows 10 LTSB. Still has spyware but not bloated like the regular Windows 10
I use win 7 on my ryzen. My defeat came a couple of days ago with a new laptop. I got win 7 working but too many drivers didn't work and I eventually called it quits.

I plan to assemble a second PC using an all-in-one mobo, install gahnoo+loonix on it and do everything other than vidya gaem on that. I already have linux distros on every other PC I don't game on.

No one has been able to give me a good reason why running Linux in a vm inside W10 isn't good enough.
why go through all the bullshit of trying to get GPU passthrough or Wine to work even partially when you can have a fully functional Windows for gaming and do anything sensitive (which let's be honest, for most of you is just anime porn) within the vm with a VPN and encryption or whatever else you feel you need.

lots of performance benefits especially for newer processors and the Fall update in particular improved overall gaming performance, especially on ryzen.
by what percentage and is that worth the fucking bloat of all other versions?
I saw literal 10% improvements on ryzen, some videos are claiming the Fall update alone improved performance by 20% overall.
I'm pretty sure most of the bloat can be manually removed through powershell, if you can get enterprise and trim down the fat you should be able to get LTSB but with the updates you want.

tbf overwatch is making some progress on linux. more than most dx11 games. wow is pretty much there. just wish it wasnt such a ball ache to get working.
