if theses cards hit the market earlier than custom vega56 i'm going to buy these. fuck amd

subtle

That's pretty much a given.

Just wait.

Why do we care about this? The 1080Ti came out more than 6 months ago.

It's the last nail to Vega's coffin.

>Not flashing your RXV56 to RXV64 and blowing the 1070Ti away.

>not just buying 1080ti and blowing vega away

>£380 vs £680+
Sure. Faggot.

why buy a 1080 then?

these cards will be bought up by miners before december

Repeat after me:

Vega 56 level performance

The upcoming major driver update for RX Vega will make it irrelevant anyhow.

It's too bad the 1070 Ti is GDDR5, miners will buy it just to mine their precious coins.

Being poor

If they make a FTW Hybrid water cooled one I might get it.

I thought Vega was the last nail to Vega's coffin?

>locked OC
>NO OC
>same price as 1080

TRULY THANK YOU BASED MERCHANT you are my greatest ALLY

>same price as 1080

doubt

Is Volta going to be out in 2017?

No, both Samshit and SK Shitnyx are yet to push G6 into HVM.

Submit
You will pay same price for broken 1080 chips with cheaper GDDR5 ram and you gonna love it goyim

1080 is available though. That makes no sense.

Then give me one reason not to buy a 1080? You didn't think this through, did you

its not lockedOC according videocardz

Early 2018 for Volta. Should be out at the same time Coffee Lake hype has died down a bit and the chips will be widely available. 6 core CPU and Volta GPU. What a time to be alive.

there is $100 difference between 1070 and 1080
what price 1070 Ti is gonna get in your opinion goyim ?

>6 core CPU
Ryzen has been on the market for quite a while already.
>Volta GPU
It's bigger dies.
For higher prices.
Might as well buy Pascal now.

1070 will obviously go down you mongrel

I don't do AMD, sorry.

I'd say it will be $70 less than 1080.

>I don't do AMD, sorry.
Of course, rabbi, of course.

videocardz.com/73373/rumor-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-to-be-frequency-locked

maybe we live in different worlds?

Im breaking my head for an upgrade. I have gtx 970 i5 3570 at 4.2 ghz and 16 gb ddr3 ram. I want 60 fps on my 3440x1440 monitor. What do i upgrade to what. I was thinki g the new i5 8600 or 8400 if speed is marginal and the 1070 ti. I dont know about the ram.

>blower
fucking why

sage for cancerous OP

>rumor

When are we going to see Volta on consumer GTX cards

Fuck
I'm running on a piece of shit underclocked MSI 750, it overheats and I just set the fans to go apeshit on anything above 50 degrees
I don't know if I should just get the 1070ti at release price or if I should get some cheap £100 card and wait for the volta..

There were some rumors it was going to be completely locked down. Wait for more info. I'm just glad telling people to hold off on buying gpus for the last 2 months wasn't wrong.

You have to be a special kind of retard to buy intel over ryzen

I'm special.

Did the price of Vega finally come down?

It seems like there is no such thing as a free performance upgrade from generation to generation. Let's say you pay $300 for 60 frames per second performance. Next gen there will be a card that does 90 frames but it will be more expensive. There will be a mid-tier card that does 60 frames but guess what it costs $300.

If you tell people to wait you will never be wrong with PC hardware.

Yes.

>user doesn't know about the Vanguard drivers

Yes good goy, buy the 1970ti.

They don't exist yet.

My typo aside word on the street is AMD has some impressive gains for vega on the vanguard drivers (which are under NDA).

>word on the street is AMD has some impressive gains for vega on the vanguard drivers (which are under NDA).
About as valid as pajeettech "rumors".

I'm still seeing ref Vega 56s for no lower than $470 USD. Might be worth it with a good AIB cooler, but if I need to buy my own cooling solution, bios flashing; power tables modding, it's really not a better deal than an AIB 1080 right now and certainly not going to be better than the 1070Tis.

Flashing v56 to 64 doesn't increase the streaming cores available.
It only unlocks the voltage limites V56 has.
Gpuz incorrectly reports streaming cores in a flashed v56 card.

>it's really not a better deal than an AIB 1080 right now and certainly not going to be better than the 1070Tis.
It is a better deal assuming they get it to work.

Higher Vmem is all you need though.
There's no difference between 3.5k and 4k SPs in the current Vega.

Nvidia 11 series when user?!

Not at all when you consider how limiting the blower fan is. Even if you don't mind an extra ~60 dB, you're not going to get 1080 beating performance with that.

For the most part yes.
Vega is bottlenecked somewhere.

You honestly have a mental illness.

>Not at all when you consider how limiting the blower fan is
It's not limiting at all.
>Even if you don't mind an extra ~60 dB, you're not going to get 1080 beating performance with that.
Oh god stop FUDing around mighty please.
>somewhere
Should be pretty fucking obvious if you're not a braindead moron.

Q1 2018

I'm not expecting much from 11 series. They have such a lead right now, they could trickle out Volta for like 2.5 years like they did with Kepler and then just do a refresh a la Maxwell.

...

...

Good goy, keep buying inshitia. They need your shekels.

...

Is it a much better blower than the 290 had?

Yes.

Is Vega literally dead?
AMD just needs to release good drivers r-right?

>Is Vega literally dead?
Yes, but Nvidia.
>AMD just needs to release good drivers r-right?
They need to release *working* drivers.
>They have such a lead right now
That will evaporate in mere seconds.

>Oh god stop FUDing around mighty please.
I have no idea what this means. All the analysis I've seen have only shown the Vega cards beating the AIB GTX 1080s consistently on water. Maybe the new STRIX RX Vegas would do fine, but I don't they'll be priced reasonably for a long time.

>continues to spread FUD
Meh.
(You) tried.

What's going to be different architecturally in Vega 11? Is there any sign that Radeon will honestly try to address the mining issue this time around?

What is FUD?

Vega11 is simply half Vega10.
No arch changes.
>Is there any sign that Radeon will honestly try to address the mining issue this time around?
Yes, they will probably write some better drivers for crypto.
Vega is godly at Monero.

repeat after me: 1070 (ti) performance level

Being retarded

Not sure what you're getting at there.

Is anything still worth mining as a casual miner with 1-3 cards?

I don't really know.

I want AMD to release mining specific cards then nerf all their new gaming cards with drivers

SO I CAN FUCKING BUY ONE

Ah ok, I got confused. Vega 20 is a 7 nm dieshrink probably for 2018 and Navi the new architecture was planned for 2019. I suppose you're right then.

Who would win? Overclocked 980 Ti or Unoverclockable 1070 Ti?

What makes amd cards better at mining?

Vega20 is no dieshrink, it's an HPC product you'll never see.
Why would they build an inverntory for an extremely volatile market? Besides mining crowd is content with consumer cards.

>tweaktown.com/news/58597/amd-vega-20-32gb-hbm2-teased-10-11-12/index.html
...then AMD literally has nothing until Navi in 2019 and Nvidia can drop Volta whenever they please.

>...then AMD literally has nothing until Navi in 2019
And why would they care?
>Nvidia can drop Volta whenever they please.
It's bigger dies. They will drop them whenever the shareholders become annoyed.

Probably around the same. Though it doesn't matter much since the 1070 Ti is going to be ~$450 and a 980 Ti is like ~$600 still.

The xXbox One Xx is great for the price
I hope it pushes nvidia to release volta
on schedule

It's GPU is equal to Titan XP and it has an 8 core CPU. For $499 it might be a good deal.

>It's GPU is equal to Titan XP
Wat? It's half GP102 even in pure shader math.
>an 8 core CPU
Cat-cores are weak.

>TFW would like to buy a new GPU, but I'm on Linux so I have to buy AMD

short answer is: compute power
I'm a brainlet though, so someone else might be able to explain

Just get some reliable repository that has done the job for you and install the drivers from it.

I'm still trying to work out what the point of this card is when you could save a little more and buy a 1080 with better specs.

Absolutely staggering compute performance at a given die size vs the equivalent Nvidia card. To wit on paper for straight up number crunching a 390x is a 980ti rival and a vega 64 has no competition outside of those fuck off huge volta dies Nvidia ships to the big boys for meme learning. The sort of volta chips where each one costs more than what Intel charges for a high tier xeon.

I'm still trying to work out what the point of a 1080 is when you could save a little more and buy a 1080ti with better specs.

Because 1080 will be phased out?
Seriously, speaking of RX Vega:
>phone a local retailer about custom RX Vega cards
>answer is "release speculated in mid-November"
I guess even the magic driver doesn't help then.

>vega 64 has no competition outside of those fuck off huge volta dies Nvidia ships to the big boys for meme learning
GP102 has ~the same shader horsepower at Vega10.
AMD has long lost their compute advantage.

Does anyone else feel greasy about buying a 1080? I mean if you want to save money you get a 1070 if your are really frugal a 1060. If you want performance you get a 1080 Ti. Buying a 1080 just feels weird.
