What PC cases are NOT a joke?

Hey Sup Forums.
Normally I just go to /PCBG/ but I really have to know this for my new PC.
I've already got 90% of my desktop components and now see the question of:
Are all the new windowed PC cases a joke or what?
Every single case such as pic.related has something iffy or cheap with the glass,HDD slots, or the USB connectors.
Any approved Sup Forums cases? (yes I tried PCBG but no luck)
Thanks

Check out logical increments shit

Antec 300.

Fractal Design Define R5 is the only case you will ever need, with support for a shit heap of radiators, a billion drive cages, the ability to change between a case that is silent as fuck to a case with the best airflow on the market. As long as you get the one with no side panel window it is pretty much Sup Forums incarnate in a case

Meshify C is really good, yeah the glass and the mesh with tessellation makes it look a touch gaymer but I forgive it due to it's strong thermal performance. There's nothing wrong with looking good as long as you're performing good first.

The Define R4 and R5 are pretty much perfect.

Fractual Design seems to be getting some positive outlook in Newegg and even Sup Forums itself.

I'm looking to the Define R5 Blackout Windowed or pic.related of the OP.
And lastly, the Define S is not as good as the R5 set right?

What size case are you wanting?
For full tower I'd go with Corsair 900D or if you can still find it the NZXT Switch 810.

>what cases are not a joke

Check out the Phanteks Entoo Evolv. It has tempered glass sides and a stylish design that will set your PC apart from the rest.

R4 airflow sucks though. 5 is a beast though

The airflow in that case is absolutely dog shit though

SHIT THERMAL PERFORMANCE

>the Define S is not as good as the R5 set right?
depends on your needs, if you need a ton of drives and a disc drive, the r5 should be fine, if not, then the define s should be a better fit.

I'm rather pleased with how my meme case has treated me, but..

That's Phanteks for you

>R4 airflow sucks though

Nah. I had a heavily overclocked 1090T drawing 250W paired with a 290X in mine once upon a time and temperatures were fine. That's with just two front intakes and one rear exhaust too. If anything, the R4 has better intake potential due to having a more open front panel behind the door.

The future is now.

>not a 900d

Wrong

With a sexy case like that who needs airflow or thermal performance?

Eh. I built in one of those for a friend recently. It wasn't that amazing to work in and way to big, even for my fucking huge desk. Also it would have cost over double what I paid for this. My alternative case was going to be the be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900, but the 750D went on sale and that clinched it.

please tell me you mounted a side 480 rad in it

>Tfw this case won't go on sale
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Do I get this case or shell out 10 bucks more for the corsair 460x crystal gaymer case? Kinda wanna set the fans up to go red/white/green for Christmas

i like my p400

Well, yeah. That's what you buy it for.

Sure thing, buckaroo.

>This isn't the case with the R4, where at full speed the fans are much easier to hear. As such, it's not really a surprise to see the R5 have slightly warmer temperatures than its predecessor and less variation in temperatures between the maximum and minimum speed settings.

Sorry that you wasted money on an "upgrade".

I'm running a Phanteks P400. It was on sale for like $50, and it's super easy to work with, holds both my CPU and GPU loops.

KL07

>tfw fell for the nzxt h440 meme

*SSD sizzling in the background*

I've seen a shitload of SMA8/900D builds without a side rad. I'll never understand why these people spent that much money on a case if they won't even bother to use it's main feature.

corsair carbides

Corsair 200r , thank me later

I'd go with this but I hear the noise dampening is dogshit on it. Great look and cooling though.

I, too, fell for the H440 meme. I plan on cutting a nice square in the face plate now to let it breathe. I got it $30 off, due to factory defects, some of the foam on the inside seems to have been damaged.

If you wanna spend some coin and go whole hog full tower, Phanteks Enthoo Primo. Great for water loops.

Generally speaking, anything Phanteks, Lian Li, Fractal, Caselabs, NZXT, Corsair, Thermaltake, you can't go wrong.

are those cutie anime girls you have?

>Kinda wanna set the fans up to go red/white/green for Christmas
wow, that idea is so fucking gay but I love it.

I currently have a p400s and while it's a good case, I don't need a temp graph to tell that my fans are being choked.

That's just weird. Without the reservoir and pump that case tends to look comically empty, and a full quarter of that case is space to mount radiators. Some people just dig air cooling, I guess?

I'm mounting two radiators in the 750D. Gonna be interesting.

this pic is not mine, sorry user

Carbide has good looks, but I always feel like cleaning the dust filters in that would be a way bigger pain in the ass than with other cases. Still not as bad as the antec 1200 I got for my first case ages ago though.

love my define mini c
only thing I'd choose over it would be cerberus if they actually hit production

Sorry, what do you mean by choked? The dust-filters?

no, what I mean is the holes in the front panel are not large enough and not placed right for air to efficiently move into the case. Gamers Nexus talks about this in detail and how it effects thermals and results in performance loss.

Yeah, same. My rig will be the only Christmas decoration I need

Abee makes the cutest cases

it's happening

Hard to dampen the noise when you've got holes on the front that let air through

It's all-around a trade-off. Good airflow means a louder case. Even proper soundproofing material inside the case would fuck the airflow because good sound dampening functions by reducing vibration through the air; if you reduce vibration you're also sapping energy from moving air, requiring more powerful fans.

Basically you need to decide:
Loud and cool case, or quiet and hot case.

yeah I know. I've settled on Define C with tempered glass if it goes on sale. I care more about the sound than the cooling, and the glass panel is me giving up a little bit of that noise reduction for the meme aesthicc

a-cute

alright lads here we go
let me present to you the Sup Forums approved case
bitpenis pandora (non-windowed, non icon display)
>humble micro ATX size, you probably don't need a full tower lad
>still fits full length gfx card due to no drive bay
>holds 2 3.5" drives and 2 2.5" drives despite this
>bottom mounted PSU
>excellent cable management capabilities
>good airflow
>clean design, no logos, lights, or windows
>quiet

>posts picture of version with window
pls forgive

same but I threw it away for the define C because it was absolute garbage

no bells and whistles. pretty cheap. mine hosts a 1070, i7-6700k, & liquid cooler just fine

>good airflow
not in my eyes bud, those are tight pathways into the case with two sharp turns until you reach the inside.

I would say it's good for lower end systems and htpc's

Get the MM01 by silverstone
It's spill resistant and comes with a HEPA filter. And there's even a support brack for your GPU and a little kickstand to hold up your oversized noctua heatsink

>hepa filter

Now my PC will never have to worry about asthma ever again!

Couldn't be happier, good as long as you have the space. Airflow over aesthetics

Will the Define C be the better choice if I am a drivelet?

>muh airflow

Doesn't that build fuckloads of dust and shit inside your case?

tfw still rockin this bad boy

Underage b& back to Sup Forums with you.
Ah all that tasetful plastic that marks if you do much as touch it the wrong way.
Nice.

O shit the PC case connoisseur is here guys.

I want to take the front off a case to fit my own infinity mirror
can anyone recommend a decent case for this?

Fractal design Define R5, you can fit the infinity mirror on to the part the front panel is since you can remove that

>louder 120mm instead of 140mm fans
>cant fit the glorious nh-d15
I say go for the R5 anyway

>t. what are filters

Really want to upgrade to this for better airflow and able to get aio cooler for my CPU. Currently using the define mini

>window

>Lian
i fell for the pc-j06 and it has terrible airflow

Literally anything by NZXT

I just got the fractal define s, can't get the Temps above 45c while playing overwatch on ultra graphics at like 200 FPS.

what PC cases are not a joke and why are they all called "HAF X"?

This is my rig

cant ask for a better cases than the Define series

>PSU shroud

What a ricer.

>that ricer RAM
VENGEANCERAPTOR SPORTS SNIPER XTREME

Be Quiet now son
