I'm buying a domain from namecheap. One of their upsell offers is a PositiveSSL cert for 1 year for $2. Since I do want SSL and I don't want to faff around with letsencrypt automation, this seems like a pretty good deal. Am I missing anything and is PositiveSSL as widely trusted as competitors?
I've created an ipset list using
ipset create blocklist hash:net
and adding ips to it using
ipset add blocklist X.X.X.X
But when i go to add the ipset list to iptables with
iptables -I INPUT -m set --match-set blocklist src -j DROP
It says
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name
Am i missing a command somewhere?
How the fuck do I merge two unallocated, empty partitions into a single NTFS partition?
youtube.com
Is there only kwin, metacity and compiz capable of doing this?
Resize each partition after moving your shit then wiping one.
Just use letsencrypt
$2 is $2 too much for an ssl cert
What's some nice stuff I can do on a PC that's mostly running 24/7
I already have an i2p node and a freenet node (though I might get rid of the latter), I'm also using it as a sort of seedbox for some random shit. I've also got a couple of BOINC projects running. What else?
I have a few questions regarding selling old electronics:
1- Can I sell my Windows copy? Do I just give the box and the license number if I can? Do I need to be careful about something?
2- What should I do to the old computer before selling? Aside from wiping the hard drive of course.
3- Should I sell my old computer piece by piece (GPU, motherboard...) or together with everything included?
4- Which website is the preferred method? Should I just create an ad on Craigslist?
I have two 60gb drives. I wan to clone one on to the other, including the MBR if possible, so that I can move the system drive of my laptop to an SSD.
Is there a good, simple freeware tool for windows to do this?
what's the best lua-based 'fantasy video game computer'?
the only 3 i know of are pico 8, tic 80 and liko 12
clonezilla
buy a cheap ass used drive to stick in the pc and take yours out before you sell it. you'd be surprised what someone can pull off of a wiped drive
Good advice, I have one, I'll just remove the current hard drive.
How old are we talking? If it's not a gaming machine from the last few years, selling part by part would be a bad idea. Also, the market for things like old motherboards and old cpus, especially used, is really quite small.
On the other hand, the market for old but working machines is decently sized.
Wipe the hard drive securely (with a full random pass), of course. But don't waste time with like 12 passes - even one is enough, you can do 2 or 3 if you're paranoid.
Craiglist is good because on sites like ebay the expectation is that you can ship it, which can be extremely cost-ineffective for a desktop pc.
No
DBAN 7 passes
Together unless you have key parts that sell more by them selves

Macrium Reflect. Way easier than alternatives.
>Macrium Reflect.
>trial version
Nah just use clonezilla
2 years, it's lightly used. It's mediocre gaming computer. I think I'm going to try to sell it as a whole.
>No
Why so? Should I just give the box to whoever buys the computer then?
what is the apostrophe* before domains for?
should I whitelist cookies from these domains?
Macrium has a paid version, yes, but you'll never needed any feature from it. Macrium is better at aligning partitions to correctly transfer between HDD/SSD. And it's got transferring to a smaller partition down. And you don't even have to boot to it, it works fine within windows. Only reason to go clonezilla is if open sauce gives you a hardon.
Key can be traced back to you when you bought it oem or when it was on you preinstall
Just less messier to provide it os free
>apostrophe
That's an asterisk bro, used in this context it's a "wild card", meaning insert anything there. So "mutherfucker.Sup Forums.org" would fall under that.
Sup Forums-x is broken for me
is this caused by adnauseam or violentmonkey?
Hentai@home
OpenVPN/SoftEther server for if you leave the house
1. If it's a full retail license and you're removing it from any machine you own, yes. If it's OEM, no.
The combo
So, if the target drive is slightly smaller, as is liable to happen, Macrium is the better option?
Why would i do that lol Fuck that noise
Just downgrade violetmonkey
Thanks for the fix
It's just the Windows I bought when I was building the computer. Does it still apply? Is this key bounded to me forever? How do I break my chains?
>1. If it's a full retail license and you're removing it from any machine you own, yes. If it's OEM, no.
It's the Windows I bought when I was building the computer, it's not OEM.
Yes.
how do i do an eggplant emoji on desktop? also how do i tell if my desktop supports the character
want to update my skype as it without installing skype on a phone
I just bought a Thinkpad X220, it works except for the display. It only displays on external monitors. The back light for the built in display still lights up, and will even listen to me changing the brightness, but refuses to show anything.
i can't help you but for one you didn't even ask a question and secondly thinkpad general is here
open it up and check the display cable
in hindsight i dont want to anymore since a vegetable is a dumb way to talk about a dick
(Me)
Ended up going for it, it was fine.
No thank you, don't want to need to set up automated provisioning stuff. SSL is annoying enough as it is. $2 is cheap and now I don't need to worry about it for ages.
Having said that, if the promised wildcard support happens that might be a killer app. 1 year wildcard certs are still expensive.
Serious question: You know most of that i2p/freenet traffic is child porn, right? Are you OK with that, morally speaking? Is it a necessary evil in order to support the Iranian political dissidents/whistleblowers/whoever it is that needs this tech?
do smartphones have different levels of memory speed (read/write) or are they roughly all the same?
im having trouble finding any information regarding this on google. like i assume flagships have faster memory than cheaper phones, or is it all dependent on their cpus?
Freedom means allowing the things you do not like as well as those you do. Without either you are not free
when they talk about screen size do they still do that shit where the number they boast is the diagonal length?
m.gsmarena.com
I assume they still do but I'm curious
Watch until 2:30 or so.
>hover link
>tranny with rainbow hair
Nothing of value will come from watching this video
Have fun in your safe space then.
have fun in your jail cell for having your ip connected to child porn
>he thinks a vpn + mac spoofing will protect him
elegiggle
So wanting freedom of speech for everyone, even those i dont agree with, is wrong?
I don't understand either of these posts. I'm not a fan of the channel, it's just that I cannot find a better summary of the season 2 episode 9 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia which is exactly summarizing the point one of you made in .
If you refuse to further the discussion, then have fun in your safe space.
You're using the wrong buzzword sweetie.
If you cant articulate your point without having to rely on a third party tranny youtube video, perhaps you need to stay in your safe space :^)
Yeah, that's like your opinion I guess. Just go watch the episode then.
>Just go watch the episode then.
What does it give to me if i watch it?
You could post your point without having to rely on a tranny.
Your point? You have none.
Does this mouse still hold up well for video games?
au.pcpartpicker.com
yes
Don't watch it then. I don't really care.
I don't like the whole sex change/androgyny thing either but just watch the video user linked. It's a good summary of an episode which is itself a surprisingly good albeit lighthearted look at an important question on the nature of freedom. The youtuber has put some time and effort into preparing that summary, and it doesn't make sense for user to duplicate that effort.
>and it doesn't make sense for user to duplicate that effort.
AKA im a lazy shit and cant form my own argument so here go watch a video
Podcast/audio book apps/programs?
k
...
>it doesn't make sense for user to duplicate that effort
What world do you live in where this has ever been a valid argument anywhere?
Everywhere in this world we live in?
If you watch season 11 episode 15 of simpsons,
season 1 episode 4&5 of south park, every episode of maxheadroom and the 2nd jurassic park movie you will understand my argument.
if i was a compooper what would i jerk off to?
QUICK
I got a 20 pin PSU and it needs to fit into a 24 pin board, can I get an adapter for this?
I have a 12volt DC lava lamp that doesn't list anyway wattage on it.
If I wanted watts, do I use 12volts DC to calculate it, or do I use the 120volts AC from the wall?
You dont, the 20 will fit in the 24 pin slot
It is likely to work but is outside of spec and in some cases (heavy 3.3V/5V load for some reason) could be dangerous. Additionally, having a 20pin connector suggests that your PSU is very old.
All in all I would not suggest that you try this. Replace the PSU.
Do you have an amperage figure for either?
If I'm running Wangblows 7, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD with no HDD, should I disable page file or nah?
The DC adaptor says 500mA. I just don't know if I need to use the adaptors output voltage or the walls output voltage to compute power.
Yes
Is VR good yet?
Easy way to check it yourself is Google cardboard. I checked, and while it is fun to watch Kpop videos in it, I don't think it is that good. In terms of having higher quality 3d screen it is good, but I don't like moving around to interact kind of thing.
The round 500mA figure is likely to be a max rather than actual.
If you want to know how much power it draws from the wall when using that adapter, calculate it on the AC side. You will need a device capable of measuring current. Ideally just use a device capable of measuring the power directly.
If you want to know its DC power requirements (for example because you want to run it from a 12V battery), calculate it on the DC side. You will need to break the circuit and measure current.
Or just use 12Vx0.5A=6W but it is unlikely to use the full 0.5A so this will be an overestimate.
Price is going down fast, wait a year.
Can I replace my old, deprecated BIOS based motherboard with a fancy new UEFI motherboard (along with CPU and RAM, of course) without having to worry about brainwrecking boot issues?
So it'll run at like 75%? That's fine.
No, that is not what I said. It will draw the same amount of power as normal, through fewer conductors than intended. This will probably work but may not be safe. You run such a setup at your own risk. I recommend you don't do it, and instead buy the proper PSU for the task at hand.
My motherboard's integrated soundcard (not enough room for a dedicated one) is advertised as having 7.1 audio, but the audio properties for the S/PDIF connection say it's only stereo, even with up-to-date drivers.
Question 1: is it actually stereo or 7.1? Mobo is b150m mortar.
Question 2: if it's 7.1 with the S/PDIF, how do I unfuck it?
So it's a fire hazard? Little hazard or big hazard?
It's sits in a shoebox so, I'm little above little?
Is "Vultr" VPS any good? I've been using DigitalOcean for a while, but their prices are pretty much the double, I'm thinking about switching services.
how do I get conky to call a conky object every "x" amount of seconds?
I already know execi but that doesn't work for what I am trying to do. I need to call a if_matching statement every 10 minutes
1. is there an incsearch option for qutebrowser?
2. how can i background a process that's spawned by qutebrowser?
Thanks guys. I was thinking on buying Samsung VR to use with my S8. I`ll probably wait a little more.
>run ccleaner
>now everything is read-only and cant be changed
what fucking do
spdif only has enough bandwidth for uncompressed stereo. Surround over spdif means compression such as Dolby Digital. If you play back a movie with Dolby surround and the bitstream is sent correctly over spdif, your receiver should pick it up OK.
If it doesn't work (for example because your mobo audio doesn't support direct passing of bitstream), or if you're trying to get surround audio in games, spdif won't cut it. You'll need to either use the 7.1 analog outputs from your mobo, or use a receiver/amplifier/whatever that supports HDMI audio.
Nothing particularly wrong with them- they're good in some benchmarks and mediocre in others. Realistically either would be fine for most workloads, so I suggest you just fire one up and test it out. You're only out a few cents if it doesn't work. See this comparison: joshtronic.com
Sup Forums im trying to get the boost library to work
but running bootstrap to install it starts throwing this shit
pic related its the shit
one of the commands its using is not recognized or defined , so the install is totally fucked
please help
>>run ccleaner
there's your problem
theres nothing wrong with ccleaner, i use thew technician edition on windows 10, right click my recycle bin to open it, its great
what message do you get when you attempt to change a file thats read only back to normal
nothing, i press apply and when i check again its back to read-only
you're talking about files right? not folders?
folders
like this pic?
because thats normal, thats how it is by default....
at any rate you can get
howtogeek.com
the take ownership option if you dont already have it
use it on the folders
I've tried Take Ownership, I still get the same result on any folder

does someone know what parameters does facebook use when deciding if to send you a identity recover link and when to give you a wall? i been trying to figure this out for the last week but it seems to work at mere random, it's not IP or MAC, help me pls :(
...
geez man THAT IS NOT CHECKED
thats how its always been
im on the verge of dying
I need to edit a text file long enough that it weights 300~mb. Sublime Text is not good enough for how long it is, it takes too long to find text and gets stuck when trying to "replace all" with a value. Any ideas for a better program for Windows are more than welcome!
??? that isn't normal i want shit like configs to be saved but they can't be because it's read only
I'm on windows 7 and my right speaker just died. How do i output both channels to my left speaker now?
its not set to read only you retard, a CHECKMARK means its read only
do you see a check mark?
i seriously think you're a schizo at this point
