Hm. Actually... if you've had issues like > Display scaling is shit you may want to stay on the safe side and try an unofficial image that includes non-free software.
Disclaimer: I've never actually used this image. I've used the previous a handful of times with zero issues, though.
>Buy into all the hype and finally a hammer >turning screws is finnicky af >can't cut a 2x4 for shit >none of the welds I make with it hold
Tell me one reason why you put up with this utterly useless piece of shit tool. Never again.

So display scaling, mouse pointer tracking and internet isn't supposed to be handled by the OS?
This level of autism shouldn't even be possible. And also this is why the Enterprise uses Windows.
Grayson Gomez
Yes you are

I didn't even bring up the terminal. That's clearly a bait thread. I was interested in learning a new environment but those problems hit me in the face like a truck and I realized how utterly crap it is.

Linux is good for old hardware and simple use cases.
When you look at any buy thread on this board you realize everyone here is poor and has simple hardware with simple use cases (shitposting on Sup Forums and watching anime) so Linux is easy for them.
There's no way in hell I'm installing Linux on new hardware with multiple monitors for production and gaming purposes.

Install Gentoo

You should try it in a VM. The only reason I chose dual booting is that my ultrabook has less RAM.

Holy shit! I literally had the same experience with Windows! What are the odds?

>Display scaling is shit on my 1080p 13 inch screen. No way to change it other than manually changing scaling per app basis. werks for me >Network speed is dog shit even after reconfiguring the settings. werks for me >Mouse tracking is the worst and I couldn't stand it for one minute. werks for me >Tell me one reason why you put up with this utterly useless piece of shit OS. Never again. it just werks
Cameron Richardson
Well maybe stop using Windows from 2009. Windows 10 has excellent scaling for high res monitors.
Lincoln Clark
never had these issues on my machine
Daniel Gray
Come on, the bad taste is from Microsoft's cum.
Aaron Wood
>1920x1080 >high resolution Anyway, you decided to be a cunt, so you probably don't care how easy it was to fix. Linux is for people who are smart enough to read English.
Josiah Peterson
>No way to change display scaling False, your just too much of a brainlet to figure out how
Aaron Cook
1080p on a 13inch monitor you mongoloid
You're*
Cooper Cruz
>Tell me one reason why you put up with this utterly useless piece of shit OS. Because Windows 10 is worse on a technical level. If you like user interfaces and things that seem okay, go for proprietary Windows. Linux is for smart people and those who know better. No offence, but you're just a dumb piece of shit.
Sebastian Johnson
>1080p on a 13inch Are you sure you're not confusing HD with FHD?
Aaron Murphy
If you knew how windows worked underneath, win10 being worse makes perfect sense. To put it simply, any changes to windows can't be real changes but they have to be additions, or they break the complex web of syscalls and garbage that they've established previously. And so the entire of win10 is a shoddily built addition to windows 8, which was a shoddily built extension to 7, which was a redesign of the shoddily built win vista, which was a massive crappy addition to xp.
XP was built on MS's NT range, which at that point was too small to really be particularly crap, although there were plenty of bad design decisions built into it. Like no ALSR, no SafeSEH, no DEP, etc.
