I just installed the Firefox quantum beta, and I have to admit it, it Mozilla has gone out of its way to outright amaze the shit out of me.
I don't want to be a shill or anything, but this version has enhanced the browser (except the default theme, it's worse) as a whole to me. I think you should go check it out now.
For a ramlet like me (4GiB) it uses way more ram than Chrome.
Landon Parker
NoThx. SJW browser.

this happened last night. loaded up about 10 tabs. then went to knowyourmeme. then this happened. i only stopped it because windows started to slow down.
Brandon Powell
Can YOU BROWSE FACEBOOK WITHOUT crashing/slowing down hard/moving haggardly?

>tfw 1gb of ram I PUSH MY FINGERS INTO MY EYEESSSSSS

i love firefox but goddamn i can't stand it when a website can destroy the browser. chrome: >website eating RAM and stops responding. >chrome task manager >end process
firefox: >website eating RAM and stops responding. >open up windows task manager >firefox >end task
i also use chrome a lot (for swagbucks) certain websites will eat ram and stall chrome >chrome task >end process no browser restart required all other tabs still functioning
Carter Myers
>Open Firefox >Go to Facebook and youtube, have 5 tabs on FB, 1 tab on YT >Firefox has stopped responding
Jonathan Ross
sometimes just opening up facebook will do this. it's why i upgraded to 16GB yesterday.
Brody Davis
Sup Forums X doesn't work in this shit. wtf
Camden Davis
>be Android phoneposter >try out nightly >open up tsumino.com >image loading is still slow back to brave
Nathaniel Long
brave is the only good mobile browser right now
Oliver Fisher
>tsumino absolute pleb

jesus fuck it's painful to look at all that bloat kys faggot
This is practically how browsers should behave by default with audio and video.

OTA DVR. the USB TV Tuner is located on my Server. i stream live TV to my PC. i use it everyday to watch the news in the morning while im on my computer.
Connor Roberts
need to install pyshit client just to have that Open with functionality I fucking hate it
Hudson Jackson
Wake me up when they re-added old add on support.
Ian Ortiz
That's impossible unfortunately.
Joshua Ortiz
Are you talking about youtube-dl?
Noah Jackson
same here. amazaing piece of software
Adrian Foster
You don't have to explain yourself to anyone user. Shit works for you? Fuck everyone else.
Zachary Rogers
no, the addon that allows you to have that Open with mpv button
Alexander Wright
I tried Nightly and it was merely okay. Loads basically the same as palemoon for me and with a lot less functionality.
Matthew Anderson
literally uses more ram than chrome now
Thomas Jenkins
i have youtubedl but that doesn't show on my right click menu

i'm always looking for better advice if anyone wants to share it.

When they release the non-beta version I will probably switch back to Firefox. I'm using Brave right now but it seriously lack in features. Firefox right click > save page as... is the function I miss the most. Also their download manager and the way browsing history is displayed in auto complete. With Brave I get websites that I visited once months ago on top of my autocomplete results for some reason. I really can't stress enough how unfinished and unpolished Brave feels. I stopped caring about privacy desu because I use Windows so no matter what meme gimmicks I use I will never have true privacy anyway.

yes it does see >Chrome like/Firefox browser. >python2 or python3 >youtube_dl module >mpv or similar also we're speaking of firefox 57+, so no, there isn't an addon that can do this without some sort of client
Joshua Thomas
>open with ?
James Torres
only used it to clone a HDD. I do need a better backup program. the one i have was the first program that i saw when i googled free computer backup.
Jaxson Fisher
How do you stand not having 4chanX?
Owen Rodriguez
>first program that i saw when i googled wew lad.
Jace Anderson
Open with only requires a browser (obviously). It doesn't require python, youtube-dl or mpv. That stuff is for if you want to open videos with mpv.
Hudson Evans

Xavier King
I'm on stable ;^)
Jayden Fisher
lol yeah i know. it does its job...as far as i know. never needed to use a backup.

>beta thread >LOL I'M ON STABLE KEK WERKS FOR ME XD

I've never seen this before. Is this the webextension version?
Matthew Sanchez
yes you fucking retard, did you check which thread you're in?
Oliver Thomas
acksually my reply was about playing videos in browsers
Leo Fisher
Macrium for clone, freefilesync for incremental folder/file backup. Macrium also lets you make a dedicated boot disk. Also I hope you're using ninite, so at least some of your software isn't raging crapware.
Jacob Hernandez
I didn't even know there was a webextension version until today senpai.
I only use 5 boards, the thread watcher is all I need right now.
Levi Turner
Why do you even care about python though? You'd have to use it anyway for youtube-dl.
Liam Walker
>You'd have to use it anyway for youtube-dl. ? I just get the executable, I don't even have python installed
Cooper Thomas
>We also provide a Windows executable that includes Python >includes Python
Anthony Johnson
tfw beta > nightly logo tfw we the cools kids now
Hunter Smith
There's a Compact Dark theme that's very nice, especially with client side decorations. Supposedly Linux gets CSD support in 58 or 59.
Lucas Scott
yes it includes python but it doesn't install it, it just uses python to run that executable. All this means is that the filesize is larger
Joseph Cook
What, do you open images in your web browser with an image program too? Faggot
Levi Wood
You're making a meaningless distinction. The youtube-dl executable comes with the necessary python binaries and libraries for it to run. You might not have python "installed" (whatever that means), but you sure as hell are using it. If you care about package management so much, you shouldn't be using Windows in the first place.
Julian Sanchez
>he doesn't open images with mpv
Colton Robinson
I don't care about using python but I do care about installing shit on Windows considering it's so fucking horrible at it, so I avoid installing anything if I really don't have to, or just simply use portable versions. On linux however I don't mind just installing python and let it be there because I know it won't turn into an absolute clusterfuck few months later when something needs to be removed or modified
Alexander Watson
What are the benefits to doing this?
Lucas Butler
You get an actual video player to play video and not garbage html crap.
Camden Gonzalez
You get to show all the kids on Sup Forums what a friendless autist you are.
Jackson Gonzalez
wow thanks user. just updated from 56 to 57 beta and I'm really impressed. works really smooth.
Samuel Reyes
Horrible cheap shilling. Suck my ass mozilla
Tyler Wood
Better everything with good settings. Upscaling low res videos is a lot better.
Cameron Gomez
You can bring back the old volume control via regedit easily
Benjamin Martin
off yourself user, you're worthless. Go try 57 and come back tho before you hang yourself, and admit we are right and youre just a fucking retard
Andrew Baker
I have. You're overhyping the fuck out of this. It's just ok.
Xavier Cook
it's a bit different. in windows 7 you could use a registry tweak to do what i want. i want to be able to click the sound icon and the "expanded" view to be already out. with windows10, the only thing the registry tweak does is bring back the sound mixer. you still have to click on the expand button for it to expand. i use EarTrumpet as a simple GUI. i click on it and this pops up automatically.
I just want to watch a shitty youtube video quick, not watch 4k adult chinese cartoons.
Elijah Bell
>swagbucks what is this?
Camden Hall
I used 57 nightly 2 months ago and it's a pile of outdated shit. Mozilla aren't even trying anymore, even at marketing
Christopher Williams
When did they change it? Works fine on my 2 desktops. Try several sources for this regedit.
Ethan Hall
can't even change the keybinds it's shit
Camden Young
for poor people. i have no life so im on the internet a lot. so i use swagbucks to make a few pennies. you basically click on ads and get paid a penny. pennies add up to a few bucks a month.
i didn't want that. i wanted to click the sound icon and to view the already expanded window if you know where that tweak is, i would love to know it.
Jaxon Diaz
The theme (of nightly) is good honestly.
It did this for years, what potato are you running it on?
Wyatt Cook
CNET and geeksquad or w/e its called
Ian Nguyen
It's the same upscale. Just the stats are different.
Using an external media player is great for both.
Carson Turner
>arc theme >2011+6 >ishygddt
Jaxon Bailey
Firefox has never crashed once for me on desktop in the past 3 years.
Christian Bennett
This is what i want: >STEP 1: click on sound icon >STEP 2: mute program done
this is what the CNET tweak does: >step 1: click on sound icon >step 2: click on mixer >step 3: mute program done
i wanted to remove that extra step. (im constantly changing the volume) in windows7 the tweak did this. in windows10 you can only tweak it to bring the classic single bar, you still have to click mixer to expand it.
pic related: it's not what i want
Anthony Cox
forgot pic. (from cnet)
Jaxson Sullivan
Into the trash it goes.
Blake Martinez
So do you need to fuck with shit to get it good, or does MVP work well out of the box?
Joshua Cook
Depends on if you like the defaults, but yes it works "out of the box". Adding a few words in a conf file can improve quality of course.
