So I have a 240, and have been trying to post on Sup Forums for the last hour with it. What is the lightest browser, that will be able to post. Qupzilla has failed me.

tell /tpg/ and /fglt/ to go fuck themselves and install NT4 on it, it will run far better with what it was made to run

I've had 98 on my P3, and there was not a decent browser. Closest I got was Firefox 3.6.

what do you mean by "decent"? you're never going to be able to browse the web competently on that piece of shit beyond plain HTML pages, the browsers I linked have no problem posting here (I post from them all the time) and they can handle pretty much anything that doesn't require JS to a usable degree

and NT != 9x, 9x is garbage that only people who were toddlers back then still regard highly for anything other than games

Basic JavaScript, I just want to post on Sup Forums without having to give gook moot any cash.

Maybe try qutebrowser

it's just not possible, JS has changed too much
Sup Forums works fine without it anyway, you just need to ctrl+c post numbers manually

HTF I can post from a tablet and you can't from a PC? Even the weakest PC can browse if you don't use gatesbotnet.

because your tablet is many times faster than a nearly 20 year old Celeron-based ultraportable running a bloated ass operating system built for far newer hardware you fucking dumbshit

I think it's to bloated desu. We're talking 400mhz celeron, but I will give it a shot.
Oh well. Firefox 3.6 wasn't that bad desu. I guess I could just look for an old version.

I've never used NT, and I kinda have a hobby for sticking Linux on ancient devices. This p2, is miles ahead of a Pentium mmx.

Run linux 32bit on it, let's see what happens.

I'm still upset stretch dropped Pentium support.
Desu your comments are confusing me?

yeah there's nothing really wrong with it in itself and depending on what you want to do with it there's definitely a place for it, but I don't really like Linux on systems that old for general use; in the end you're just stuck with something that can't accomplish anything your primary PC or laptop can't do many times faster, while sticking with a contemporary system not only gives you a more complete, polished and probably featureful software base but also is a more novel experience, working with limited PC hardware like this isn't difficult or rewarding, but there's something special about making an old software stack pull its weight

tl;dr do whatever, shitposting aside I do think winshit would probably get you more mileage on that system for general use, NT is and feels way more modern than 9x and is a way better choice if you don't care about games

you could also just try disabling JS on one of those browsers you already have if that's where you were running into problems
what the fuck do you think he's doing? it wouldn't change anything anyway since all the software worth running is going to run like shit if it even runs at all

Palemoon friend

What's wrong with Qupzilla? It always worked fine for me

Konqueror or maybe icecat.

You could also try the latest firefox, being new doesn't always mean is more bloated, sometimes they are more optimized.

It works fine it just won't let me do the captia at 800 by 600 pixels.
I'll give them a shot desu, but I really have doubts trying Firefox on a 20 year old celeron.

>You could also try the latest firefox, being new doesn't always mean is more bloated, sometimes they are more optimized.
>on a 400 MHz mobile Celeron with less disk space than its base memory footprint
Have fun with that. Sup Forums on FF12 brings my $15,000 SGI 540 with two 500 MHz Xeons, 512 MB of RAM, a 15K RPM disk and SGI's trademark assloads of memory bandwidth to its knees.

Why get a sgi xeon?

Not to insult your life choices, but I am curiously. Inform me user?

What do you mean? They're nice pieces of over-engineered kit and I got it very cheaply.

Isn't there a Sup Forums terminal browser? If there isn't I will make one.

Give Uzbl a shot.
If all else fails: surf.suckless.org/.
Or use Lynx like a real neckbeard.

Netsurf. It's painful to do the captcha with it though.

>netsurf

Every time I use that the fonts fuck up.

impossible, unless you make having a Sup Forums pass a requirement for posting

Recaptcha has an api I think.

That's a sexy looking thinkpad user

Thanks user, the battery life is terrible though desu. Like in the minutes, I need to recell.
