I googled and found the TM github repo, so I assumed it was opensource. But now I see that it's been abandoned.
I can't think of a good reason for a web extension developer to pull out of opensource.

Is it worth going back to greasemonkey from violentmonkey now? Greasemonkey made some things on 4chanX not working, but even with violentmonkey sometimes the unread post count freezes. Did they finally fix this shit on GM?

That's a webext problem. Webext's aren't allowed to access local files, new tab override has the same problem now too.
