Yes you are right. Actually Japan already tried before but it is criticized as being called "Sushi police" in US. Having visited and lived in both countries I have noticed much of the food are very similar. The biggest difference is the taste. I have noticed Korean food comes in larger portions and more sodium heavy. While Japanese food comes in smaller portions and more sweet oriented. They both use same ingredients for very popular dishes. Such as natto and daenjang. Both are fermented beans!

On the surface, your view is correct. But reason why both are similar is Korean imitate Japan that's why. Is you search bit how Korean loves to copy Japan, I know it. Almost Korean cuisines are surprisingly developed in Japan.

I'm afraid that is incorrect. I feel both Japan and Korea are mostly influenced by China. Chinese culture influenced Korea as Japanese culture was grown from China as well. But I feel it's true Korea has taken more influence from Japan, since both countries were at war for centuries. It also could very well be from the Japanese occupation of Korea resulting in similar words and various changes in Korea.

Thanks for the arguments. Well I should defend my opinion. Academically Japanese culture is extra ordinary far from Chinese and Korea and any other Asian country. This is not arrogant explanation. but just fact. Yes, So long time ago, Japan imported political model from China AS JUST MODEL and it was just for short time. Therefore Japanese culture is totally developed in own way afterward.

I was mainly referring to language wise. Kanji and Hanja contains Chinese characters. But I see your point in China serving as just a model, then Japan went on there own way afterwards. Japan is a fascinating country but so is Korea, both countries can and will be different but claiming other is superior to another is simply arrogance. We should all embrace each other's differences. Nationalism is to blame for such negative perception of one country to another regardless if it's in Asia.
