This thread is for the discussion of the language, culture, travel, daily life, etc. of Japan. Let's tark at randam in Japanese and English. Take it easy!
Does ビッチのカバンは重い mean "bitch's bag is heavy" ? It's a Japanese rap song. I saw カバン in kana and thought it was 鞄 to mean like purse or something. Can anyone verify if my translation is correct? I really wanna know the meaning of this song title.

Where are you headed mate? Personally, I've seen a bit of the Tokyo and the Tohoku area, southern Hokkaido, a lot of Kyushu and also spend some time on Okinawa. Still got to visit the Kansai area and Shikoku though.
Jose Harris
Yes, it would be. I'm going to go around the entire country. Most of the time will be in Tokyo and Osaka but I'll be making stops in every other region save Shikoku and Okinawa.

I've visited Shikoku once and loved it. I think that's one of the most underestimated travel destination for Japanese.

Well I won't be there, but I hear only good things about it anyways so I'll have to go there my next time.

Wondering if there are any English teachers in the thread today. Or any teachers in general... I have a question to ask of you if that would be alright.

Has any Japanese learners here used the book series Japanese From Zero? If so, what is your opinion on the series? So far in my Japanese learning I've taken two high school classes, read all of Tae Kim's Grammar Guide, and read through all of Genki 1&2. The Japanese from Zero series looks like it goes really in depth with grammar. I'm trying to take my Japanese to the next level. Will these books be a good investment?

>I'm trying to take my Japanese to the next level. You should read literature and try to compose serious texts. That's the only way to really improve your literacy skills once you're past the intermediate stage.
Caleb Jones
>save I missed that word. I was wondering how you were planning to get to Okinawa with JR pass though. I'm in Tokyo.

>Japanese From Zero Did you mention that book here in the last couple of days?
