Don't buy a tablet, just buy two smartphones and tape them together.
>buy tablet
>doesn't support cuneiform
I've owned a bunch (including an iPad and Galaxy Tab S) and I'm currently using an Nvidia Shield K1 and loving it. It's super fast, has minimal bloatware, and was dirt cheap for how good it is.
Do you want a toy? Android or ipad
Do you want a desktop PC in tablet form and no tablet apps? Some atom tablet with windows
I have pic related and it does pretty good for web browsing, kodi, even does 1440p on youtube. Not the best for multitasking. I mostly use it for school or on the go.
i want to 'mount' a tablet above my laptop screen for optimal viewing angle.
i could alternatively get a stand and keyboard, but from what i've seen stands can get pretty pricey and bulky/heavy.
if price were a strong concern i could just seat the laptop on some books and get a keyboard, but it seems like tablets are pretty affordable. might be nice for reading/note-taking?
if this isn't incredibly autistics, what tablets can you recommend?
i have an amazon fire, i really dislike how locked down it is but the price was too good to pass up. you can sideload shit but the lengths to which amazon goes to gimp it's devices is amazing, im tired of this meme UI.
if windows, get a 2-in-1 since tablet mode on windows sucks.
if android, get a tablet since it actually works properly as a tablet.
Best windows tablet to replace with Linux on?
Get a universal phone/tablet stand, bretty comfy, costs as much as a pack of gum
>pic related
Windows tablets are a fucking joke. android tablets are trash. IPad Air or newer. IOS 11 tablet oriented updates are AMAZING
I would instantly buy one of those if it wasnt some stupid tablet hybrid.
Been looking for a Windows tablet to install Linux on myself. I was going to install KDE on it but recently I realize that Gnome might be the perfect de for a small touch screen. The whole design philosophy behind get it never made sense to me until now.
I hear the Microsoft Surface tablets are pretty good and have great compatibility with Linux but part of me can't accept using a machine made by Microsoft and they're impossible to service and repair on your own.
I've been flirting with the idea of a ThinkPad 11e because second hand models are cheap, especially the models meant for Chrome OS, but 720p is a resolution I don't think I want to use anymore.
Surface Pro. Seriously
I've had a surface pro 4 since launch (about 2 years), to date I've probably spent 5 minutes in tablet mode because it's so goddamn useless.
But that's windows. Microsoft never made good software.
Messing around with gnome 3 a little bit made me realize it would probably work pretty well on the tablet. I just would like a machine other than my phone I can carry around the house and used to look at my schedule and read the news and some other basic tasks.
And don't you dare say Android or iOS. My phone is a crap Droid and it's frustrating to do anything on it.
Get a thinkpad yoga 260 or 460 they have wacom digitisers im getting one next week
Everyone suggests this, so of course it is oop for some reason

Is it true that this optical trackpoint is shit to use when I'm used to regular trackpoint?
