ITT: Plights of working IT

>Wi-Fi Cable
>White VGA Cable
>That USB screen cable

OK I know wifi cable is ethernet but explain what the fuck are the other two

>DVI-D
>Thunderbolt

>White VGA Cable
DVI
>That USB Screen Cable
Display Port

I can't do this anymore

Are LTE cables micro USB or USB type C?

>the internet
when referring to the browser

>dongle
>the hard drive (referring to the desktop pc)

Do people really do that, refer to stationary computers as The Hard Drive? Holy shit

>user! someone hacked my computer
>monitor is displaying windows error recovery

I hate everything

forgot pic

This thread is one reason technology will never be more than a hobby for me. I really don't think I could put up with people saying dumb shit like this.

>an incident with a 4 hour SLA has been assigned to your queue
>please verify the exchange server because a luser broke their Outlock profile and can't do X anymore

>That USB screen cable

FUCKING HDMI I SWEAR TO GOD

tfw calling ethernet cables "wifi cable" to trigger wannabe tech nerd faggots

>explain why printer wasnt working
> "so does that affect the cpu? is it a cpu problem?"

>have you tried restarting the computer?
>Yeah I have.
>OK
>I walk over to their desk
>Most definitely didn't restart the computer
>I restart the computer
>Fixes the problem
>Wow user, how'd you do that?
I fucking hate people

I don't mind. I get paid a nice salary by baby boomers to restart computers and fix printers.

>mfw working large scale third level open source support
>instead of this I get to "just do a few ansible roles on that 800+ machine cluster real quick, it will PROBABLY run through, if not, you'll need to patch a bit. Oh yeah, it's a running, productive structure too. You got 2 hours"

Jesus christ life is suffering everywhere you go

>"Yes, it's an indeed CPU failure"
*normie pays $2000 on a new pc*

That's how geek squad used to scam old folks.
>Hmm yeah your entire CPU seems to be infected it will cost hundreds of dollars to fix it.

Is it weird for you IT (texh support type) dudes when you have to work on the computers in the developers/analyst/engineer section if the office where everyone knows everything you are doing (as opposed to the teddy-bear decorated desk zones of non-technical employees)?

>being a technician is technology

Not really. Just do the job that needs to be done then get out. Not looking to make friends or drop spaghetti just want my paycheck.

>geek squad
You mean tech companies?
If it's not working, or not working like how normie wants, then we chance it.

people refer to the monitor as the computer even though they turn it on at the tower

It can either be great or the worst - depending on the team. Great if they're genuinely wanting to be helpful, the worst when they're being undermining, nitpicky cunts who question everything you do.
