>the state of the 5T camera

This is a joke. Worthless piece of shit in low light, also what are those white artifacts in the middle?

anything about the nokia 8 getting a US release?

what do we think of the LG v20? im thinking of getting one this Friday.

t. stalker pro

The bright lights of the harbor mirroring and reflecting inside the lens of your camera

Just ordered a 5T.

That's pretty fucking terrible. I'm worried I'm getting buyers' remorse before I've even got it.

Who else makes nice phone screens besides samsung?

I'm thinking of buying the 5T soon, any other issues with it other than the camera? I barely use my phone camera so thats not much of a problem for me

One Plus and reviewers acted like it was one of the best phones in low light, like they changed the camera to be specialised for low light..

Any samsung man in, should I go for an Alpha or a S7? Is extra €100 worth it?

Define "nice".

If I want a phone that will get security updates for a long time (os not important) is Samsung and Google my only options? How is Sony or Oneplus?
Also inform me Sup Forums is it a myth that iPhones are more secure, or will I always need the latest os to not be vulnerable?

I'm like you too, the only time I ever use my camera is for documents or social media so it's already going to be compressed to shit and looked at once.
If you care about project Treble, 5T won't support it.
Use my referral code if you buy it, $20 USD or equivalent of your currency off if bought with an accessory. I recommend the Karbon bumper case.

Try to use a student discount first, found out promos don't stack to my disappointment.

I need your help /g. I narrowed it to three phones. Should I buy MI A1, Lenovo p2 or should I spend 100€ more and buy Xperia xz?

>Alpha
the one from 2014

get an iPhone

P2

yeah

S7 then

Hey /spg/, I need your help.

I bought a Xiaomi Mi 5X for my aunt a couple of weeks ago. Right after I ordered it, I asked Xiaomi for the unlock permission. It was granted to my account in less than 24 hours. Today I received the phone, and tried unlocking the bootloader using Xiaomi's official tool, which requires your account to be validated with unlock privileges. However, it didn't work, and after looking around for 3 hours or so, I found different tutorials in order to unlock it.

The unlocker tool ended up detecting my account after all, but when I tried to unlock it, it stopped at 99% and said "You must wait 360 hours to unlock the device), or rather a badly translated sentence with basically the same meaning to this. Picture related.

I tried a few more things such as switching from Global Stable to China Developer, which suggested it would let you unlock the bootloader without waiting, but that didn't work either. I looked around (some more) and found out most people had to wait 72 hours after trying to unlock the device for the first time. However, the fact that it said 360 hours in the Xiaomi Unlock tool scared the fuck out of me. Honestly I could care less if it was my phone, but it's my aunt's and I don't want to make her wait for 15 days.

Did any of you guys have any luck unlocking your Xiaomi devices using the official tool? I also tried Xiaomi Tools, unofficial software that lets you SUPPOSEDLY unlock the bootloader or switch ROMs (which is what I used to switch to China Dev from Global Stable), but it couldn't unlock the bootloader becuase it said the account wasn't logged in, or something of the likes.

Any suggestions? Thanks and sorry for the huge fucking wall of text.

Note: not my picture. I am not retarded enough to take a picture of my screen instead of a screenshot.

Also, to add, all I want to do is install International MIUI ROM so she can get the Play Store, Google Apps and the Spanish language.

the alpha was shite when it came out and it's even more shite now.

My minimum setting is too loud

Is there something like Lux, but for volume?

I hope someone ports google camera to this. It may fix this.

Othen than the camera, it's damn good. Blazing fast, love the design, battery life is good (38% remaining with 5,5 hours of SOT), great screen and I had a Nexus 6P with a better resolution before but can't really notice the difference.

What's the best way to get a good smartphone at a reasonable price? I can't really afford to shell out something like $500-$800 off the bat for a phone. How do most people get their phones?

Most people go to work to earn money, which they then trade for goods.

And what if they work to pay bills?

I think the s7 edge looks so much better than the s8, but it makes 0 sense to buy the edge anymore.

Feels bad man.

>No protect treble

Enojy your 1year support faggots

>$500-$800
don't get a flagship if you're poor. you can get a decent smartphone for $200

It's happening and it looks good.
gizmochina.com/2017/11/22/xiaomi-redmi-note-5s-leaked-photo-reveals-key-specs/

I found a Moto Nexus 6 on sale for $188. Would that be considered decent for the price?

Then they accept that they can't afford luxuries and look for a better job.

stop
I'm already thinking about sending it back and getting the noheadphonejacku11

But will it work in the US?

A 120 dollar smartphone can play all 720p video and emulate all ps1 and PSP games

The 500 dollar phone offers nothing extra, it's just a meme

Don't worry user, its a great phone if you don't mind the dogshit camera.

oh shit. should have waited for this instead of getting the moto g5 plus.

I hope it will work in the US.

>if you don't mind the dogshit camera.
I make a lot of pictures with my phone, so I'll mind it. Hopefully it's at least better than my S6 camera, which was really good at release.

Can you recommend me any screen protectors for Note 8? I've been reading recommendations all afternoon and I'm still not sure what I should get. On my Note 4 I had some cheap protector I got in Thailand and it worked fine.
I got a Spigen Tough case and the seller threw in a screen protector for free but it's pretty shit, it only covers the front of the screen and the edges are unprotected, leaving like 4-5 milimeters on each side. I want something that would cover teh whole screen.

What's the best budget black friday deal senpai? There's the Huawei 6x for $145. Anything better at this price point?

How can I change the height of the navigation bar? Saw an apk but it was for the S8. Could it work on any phone?

it's a good and well-liked phone overall, especially on this board.

500+ ppi

Someone with a Pixel/Pixel 2 (non-XL) write a mini review. Particularly interested in hearing about battery life and how it compares with the Nexus 5

lookin for a phone with strong modding community around it

Was looking at the Huawei honor 8 and mate 9

>strong modding community
forget Huawei then. Oneplus phones have great community support so the 5T is a good choice.

lg g5 or v10 Sup Forums?

>buy p10+ in us

I'm rooted, so is there a file I could just edit?

I am looking for a new phone.

Currently I have an Umi super. It's alright and I would like to upgrade from that.

I am looking for:

>a phone with a snapdragon processor,

>4 GB of ram,

>headphone jack,

That are the most important things.

Less important but nice to have:

>dual or simply good camera

>fingerprint sensor

>usb type c

>quick charge

>hardware buttons(the ones below the screen)

>being bezelless or resembling an iphone like mi a1/mi 5x (i'm not a fag, I just like the looks, don't bully me),

> 3000 - 4000mAh battery,

Oh, and I would like to pay no more than 220usd. Any recommendations?

I'm considering

> Xiaomeme mi a1/mi 5x since I had a redmi note 2 and i loved it,

> Vernee Mix 2

> redmi note 5

> honor 7x

The ideal phone has all the features mentioned above. So far I think that mi a1 is the best choice

get the Mi A1 and stop spamming this

Buying a new phone soon. I narrowed it down to two phones, Moto x4 and Moto Z, What is the best one Sup Forums

why do you need the sound to be orange?

>SD625 again

Moto X4. Try to get the Android One version

What is this?

Why the android one version?

Okay, i'll just write a new pasta, specially for you. I bet you havent seen that mechanical shitpost on csg, have you?

Yeah, that's sad. Not even a 630, and I see no reason why you shouldn't use it over the 625.

well in theory the android one version should get android updates faster, but I guess it's too early to say whether that's actually true

The A1 is the best option.
Lenovo P2 could be an alternative.
The Vernee Mix 2 is only worth it if you really like the design.
You can consider also Vernee Mars Pro or even better M5 as cheap Redmi Note/A1 alternatives.

Are the current issues with the Pixel 2 XL a good reason to not get one?

I currently have a Note 4 and am interested in getting either the Note 8 or the Pixel 2 XL but I am reading nothing but bad things about the Google phone. Some of the issues have been fixed via software updates but some of the other issues seem hardware related.

UK:
Oneplus 5T vs Nokia 8 vs Pixel 2 XL vs HTC U1. they are all the same price atm

Just a heads-up, the Lenovo P2 is the only phone you need unless you need a camera that's good in low light and recording video, which are the only flaws with it.

>they are all the same price atm
Nokia 8 is £359 atm, where can you find the others so cheap?

attention poorfags, Moto E4 Plus is currently selling for $50 off at $129

I want to replace my Redmi 4x with something that can run lineage OS, has similar specs, and costs around €150. Can anyone recommend me something?

Redmi Note 4 (Global version)

My 4x came with a defective yellow screen, I'm a little reluctant to drop money on another Redmi.

well, your other options would be LeEco Le 2 / S3 (SD652 version, not the Mediatek X20 one), or Moto G5, but both are shittier than the Note 4.

Anyone with 2XL have any input? My Note 4 has to be replaced.

Can I put Xposed on my pixel with Oreo yet?

Xposed for Nougat only just came out. You're going to be waiting quite some time for it to support Oreo.

Thoughts on the Sony XZ1 Compact? Thinking of upgrading from Sony Z5

/k/ here, I read recently that googlr tracks me even when my location is marked off (doesn't surprise me).

Current phone is Galaxy Note 5 woth Verizon.

Sup Forums friend was saying black phone but those are hard to get.

Would a Blackberry be a half decent phone that has internet and decent-ish security/privacy?

Uaaaaghhhh

iPhone

What do I need to know about chinkphones in the US? The A1 only has some of my carrier's (AT&T) frequencies, what are the implications of this? I don't know shit about phones.

The implications are potentially worse coverage. Check with cellmapper.net or LTE Discovery app what bands AT&T are using in your area

If it keeps the 625 I'll just get a mi note 3 or a mi 6 in that case

decent camera, micro sd slot, not full of shit I can't remove, good battery life.

Why are the only touch screen flip phones china only

Sharp please.

Oneplus 5t or refurbished S8? Thanks bbs

Moto G5 Plus, 4/64 version will be $225 on BF. Another option to consider is the Moto X4, currently $339 at Best Buy

It'll probably be the last good Sony phone. Next year they'll follow the bezeless meme trend and who knows what they might remove.

Get that XZ1 compact user.

Depends on how much you care about the camera

Can I nandroid restore my phone if I upgrade the os and I don't like it?

Ie upgrade to O but like N more

Why is the X4 more expensive when the g5 seems almost the exact same as far as specs go? Am I missing something?

Slightly better SoC (SD630 vs SD625 on the G5+), IP68 water resistance, USB-C, NFC, better cameras

What are the odds that the Razer phone will get lineage and community mods?

>have OP3 since launch, ready for a slight upgrade
>OP3 used can sell for ~$300 leaf dollars
>10% op5t discount available, making the op5t for $580 after leaf tax

Question
>sell OP3, buy op5t essentially for $580-$300 =280
Worth it?
I don't necessarily NEED an upgrade, but is it worth the investment?

Not him but wanna get XZ1C too.. Think I should wait price drop when new ones come in 2018?

It's Google's attempt at reducing market fragmentation and increasing OTA support lifespan. It basically separates the vendor hardware shit from the software OS shit, which would allow vendors and rom developers to update to newer Android releases much easier

It's only mandatory to implement project treble when a phone releases with Oreo. Oneplus chinked 5T purchasers, and will more than likely use project treble as a selling point for Oneplus 6

In contract with O2, 12gb data £29 a month.

i mean if you really want privacy and security, try finding black berry pdas from the early 2000s those are secureish and politicians still use them. If you want something modern the better botnet is an iphone do you like big phones or small phones.

Why aren't there any decent feature phones that work in the USA (850 / 1900)?
The only one that came up when I searched on gsmarena was the Nokia 301. Why don't we get the 150? This isn't fair.

What android rom allows me to entirely shut down google services and run simple apps? I basically just want to carry around a device capable of running encrypted messaging and do nothing else.
