Well, Sup Forums, convince me that this isn't worth the price

Well, Sup Forums, convince me that this isn't worth the price.

That's the problem. It is.

Can you run this shit on nvidia 1080 or whatever the fuck is it and an i5?

Kids in Africa could eat that money

I want to get it, but I think it's kind of hard to justify buying something like this when it might turn out that there's only a game or two I like and want to play for more than a few hours. None of my friends have a Rift, so I can't take advantage of many of the "Social VR" things that look like they might become the actual "killer app" for VR in a few years.

did you ever buy that thinkpad, user?

Yes. The recommended specs are a GTX 1060 and i5, minimum specs are GTX 1050 and i3. I have a 1060 and i5 myself.

a gram of 88% THC can be legally purchased and delivered in 15 minutes for $30 in California

I live in Washington and to be honest, weed turned out to not really be my thing. Mostly makes me lazy, or I spend an hour playing the same level in a video game over and over again because I don't realize how to finish.

Oh actually I have a 1050. Hmmmm

feeling comfy is good enough for me

Fair enough. I prefer drinking because it makes me more active and I have more fun fucking up in video games than when I'm high, where I just get confused and lose track of what's going on. I spent an hour or two in a single Dishonored 2 level carrying a body back and forth trying to figure out where was the best place to put it and then forgetting, remembering, forgetting, and then finally realizing it didn't matter and leaving.

can't play with it for more than 40 minutes without headache/nauseous
vive is better anyway

why wouldn't you just get the vive?

This is a better deal. is there any reason someone should get the Vive instead of this?

Not him but as someone who has tried both the vive is noticeably better but I'm not sure if its 200-300$ better. I would honestly just wait until VR becomes a bigger thing since right now it's only good for a few very short games and the "wow" factor. That said if you want to try it out I don't think the oculus is a bad place to start.

It's not vive

I have one. Used it for about a week. haven't picked it up since.

The problem is that this seems like it's as cheap as it's going to get before all the cheap sets become mobile-only junk.

>more active
drinking makes me sleepy and want to pass out, not fun for me.

I actually plan to rent it, so people can decide for themselves. I have a spare room in my shop, could make in into internet cafe type of room for 2 or more vr sets.
Haha, I actually play better when slightly drunk. Especially fps like quake 3 or quake champions. I worry less about mundane things, and focus more on the game.

>implying you're not going to use it 99% of the time for porn just like your regular computer
shiggy

damn nigger, that pretty much the same price as a playstation vr with the move controllers.

Might pick one up.

Get a Samsung Odyssey instead. Way better display.
