Are 1080p IPS monitors still worth buying in 2017?

I can't see the use of a 4k monitor over 2 1080p ones

Is that really her before & after?

lol

>I can't see the use of a 4k monitor over 2 1080p ones
They would serve 2 entirely different purposes and the fact you think these setups are comparable proves you need neither a 4K nor multiple displays.

ariana grande did reverse Michael Jackson here

best current option, if you don't need 144 Hz gaymen, is ~40" UHD.

You can find the 43" LG or Philips models (both IPS) for $600 now.

UHD@120 Hz displays are still nowhere to be seen, but they should be out in less than a year given that DP 1.3 has been out a while and HDMI 2.1 is getting released.

I am more interested in technology to debrown one self.

I like 32 inch 1440p

She was forced to become brown by (((Hollywood))).

Reminds me of the Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode where the gang finds a dumpster baby that they intend on making into a model, when the agent tells them that "white babies just aren't selling" so they take him to a tanning salon "just to get a base".

Maybe this is exactly why they bombed her concert

is 27" not big enough for 1440p? I reckon 1440p would look pixelated on 32"?

Just shooped the tan her

not that hard desu
it's harder for northern europeans because there's not much overlap in the aesthetic

Is that a TV?

Its the same dpi as a 1080p 24 inch screen. Plus with larger screens your sitting further away (im usually a meter away).

Yes, it's from the TV show "blacked".

from wigger to nigger in less than a year.

>not using a spatial window manager for one panel divided into 2x2 1080p regions

>Are 1080p IPS monitors still worth buying in 2017?
I'd honestly buy a low refresh rate IPS over a high refresh rate TN 10/10 times. Color fidelity > refresh meme.

1080p 24" and 1440p 27" looked pixelated compared to my current 4k 24". Could not unsee and had to sell them. The 27" was great for gaymes though, but I stopped wasting my time.

How far away?

Left is hot
Right is not

~60 cm from my nose.

Try 80

I've a crappy monitor stand it already hits the wall. Anyway how bad eye sight do you have that 20 cm makes a difference?

so your advice is to be born a sandnigger?

I also have a TV 1080p 42" and a sofa two and a half meters away. And the resolution is crap!

It does, for 27 inch thats the point you cant distinguish pixels

These are off. Look at the thx specs.

So i'm sitting about 2-2 and a half foot away from my monitor, what size is optimal?

I currently have a 22" (it was a good buy in 2009) but i would like to get something bigger, obviously.

Any recommendations for duel monitors? Upgrading shit and finally putting money down for new monitors along with the rest. I'm thinking a pair of 24 inch screens, 1440p.

No, it has been edited. This is one of the pics from the same show. She still obviously uses way more makeup and modified her body using surgery, but she didn't become black all of a sudden

>Is that a TV?
no, you can get a 43" LG UHD TV for only like $350-$400 on sale though

kek, Ciara is whiter. What a retarded kid..

...

I prefer the right

Get at least 1440p for anything bigger than 22".

Which TV should I buy as a monitor?

Samsung 40" 4k TV

>when Ameripup evolves into Amerimutt at level 16

you know it was bleaching cream right?

Left is attractive and cute. Right looks like a dirty cock sleeve (but still attractive desu)

Is left girl same as right girl in OP?

And is left photo shopped to look whiter?

What model TV is that? What is the pixel density?

Stupid question, but what would be the best way to use this monitor vertically? I know I'll have to use an adapter for a mount, but does anyone have suggestions for how to go about it. Thanks

Seems like it doesn't have a VESA mount, so you won't be able to mount it vertically unless you go DIY.

Does that mean I'll have to drill holes and shit? Is there a way I can do a ghetto mount without the risk of destroying the screen?

What's the deal with monitors not having concise model names? Unlike most consumer products, I can't look up reviews on a specific model and compare pros and cons for hours on end as I usually do. How can I be sure I'm getting the /best/ monitor for the price? Tell me how you cope, Sup Forums.

Apparently there is a chance that you can get an adapter for your monitor, or DIY one if you can't find one for this model.

These people diy'd it, although I don't know how well a solution like that would work when you want to mount your monitor vertically.

Thanks

I was thinking about buying a 43" 4K monitor but it's still too expensive and I doubt that a cheaper TV is as good.

Good luck with that fantasy, knowing she campaigned to go to war using the full capacity of our military, including nuclear warfare, over things like cyber attacks.

When I load a video on netflix (when i start one and when I click next to start the next video) my screen goes completely black for about 3-5 seconds. And if I close the tab that has a netflix video playing on it, the same thing happens.

This only happens with the monitor I'm using and when I plug the hdmi cord into my TV, I get no issues whatsoever. Both the TV and monitor are 1920x1080p and 60hz. The monitor is 7 years old though and Im using new hardware.

Can I be sure that this is a problem with my monitor?

lt looks like the ku6300 or mu6300, they are both pretty much the same thing 2016 vs 2017

>Using cheap 1x2 HDMI switcher (Windows PC -> DVI monitor/HDTV)
>If I disconnect anywhere between the Output and the input, when I reconnect everything works fine
>If I use the hardware switch in the HDMI switcher, either I get no audio from TV (when switching from monitor to TV) or "no input signal detected" (TV-> monitor)
Any way to simulate disconnecting/reconnecting the HDMI connection, or to force Windows 10/Nvidia to detect a change in hardware?

What's complete bullshit is that 1080p HDR displaus don't exist, presumably because everyone wants to meet the "UHD" marketing spec.

HDR is worth paying for in >2017, 4k isn't IMO, but there's no way to unbundle them.

What would you recommend for mostly competitive FPS? When I compare what most pro gamers use, 27'' and 1440p seems to be the exception. Most still use 24'' and 1080p with high refresh rates.

I'm kinda interested in the BenQ ZOWIE XL2540 with 1080p and 240 Hz. What do you think? I realize that 240 Hz is mostly a meme and I can't even guarantee to get 144 Hz in most games. But I figure it doesn't hurt to have the option.

>GTX 1080
>Two 60hz 1080p IPS screens
>Don't have to worry about upgrading for years

In the year 2017 some applications still cant fucking scale correctly.

Is the U2515H still worth getting?

I got a 4k monitor for less than $300, I dont see why you would get a 1080p one today unless its for like $50. There is a huge noticeable difference between 4k and 1080p when positioned side by side, especially in usable screen space and readability of small text.

Only useful for csgo or overwatch.ud need a 1080ti to get close to 240 in other games.

Get a single 1080p 144hz 1ms response time. 4k is not a big diference in a monitor, but 144hz is if you play games. Same witj tje best response tine you can get, if you play fighters offline, a 1ms monitor makes everything different. Even smashfags autists that go all fanboy about CRT acknowledged the 1ms monitors.
4k is pretty pointless unless your fonts and everything is supporting 4k.

Who is that semen daemon on the left?

nigga are you gay?

I have a 1440p 60 hz IPS monitor and a 1080p 240hz TN monitor.

For me that's close to an ideal solution(of course having higher refresh rate on the IPS one would be good but not worth the cost).

27/28" at 1080p is the minimum screen size that I'm willing to sue due to my shitty eyesight. To make the jump to 4k, I would have to get a +40" screen.

Someone who no longer exists.

sad

just get the cheap LED

its either LED or OLED no between

jesus christ
what the fuck did she do to herself

Yeah I understand that, however the question isn't so much about which refresh rate to choose. It's more about if 1080p and 24'' is still better than 1440p and 27'' for competitive gaming. I guess for casual gaming a bigger monitor is always better, but like I said almost no progamers use 27'' monitors and I don't think this is just by chance.

I play mostly Quake Champions atm. and I get quite high FPS but 240 is still a lot, even in older games.

>There is a huge noticeable difference between 4k and 1080p when positioned side by side, especially in usable screen space and readability of small text.
This. Even if you use IGP you can drive 2 4k displays for non-gaming use (that's my work-setup). I started using tiling WMs for reduce distraction, and now with 2x 4k displays I go hyper-autist and can't work without i3. It's too easy to lose stuff with that much screen real estate, and with i3 my stuff stays where I want it.

>what the fuck did she do to herself
She didn't do anything. It's a reality TV show, so some designers, make up people and wardrobe people made her up to be an innocent button cute farm girl. Then, with the combination of a tanning booth, a little personal training (maybe) and more makeup work, they made her out to be a tacky slut that happened to have brown skin (to enrage any aryan types). Last step, write and shoot a tv series pretending like they've actually changed the actress. Frankly, they could have done the same thing with a real-doll, and gotten the same effect.
